Its just the union, the tor domain.

They also use a offshore server, I think its the best.

Although the websites are like any other website on the normal web.

There are a lot of marketplaces, but they are just running on a union domain and a offshore server.
Other than that its just a website you can put on it so that's everything.

Are the two of you the same person? You guys keep on saying union, there's no such thing as union domain , LOL

You guys are strange Roll Eyes
You mean ignorant and/or sloppy, I think.

I'm still intrigued by the dark web but I'm still not willing to download Tor and actually do any browsing.  Is bitcoin like the main currency there or has Dash made any headway?
If you are so intrigued why not just download tor and have a look around.
Don't purchase or download anything dodgy and you will have no problems.

Bitcoin has got various dark market places. These are virtual markets in which illegal activities take place.
For such activities hiring also takes place through bitcointalk forum. Such requirements can be viewed
in the services sections posting. One can join by applying through it.

I thought the silkroad and silkroad 2 were busted by the US authority. Only legit operation left now.

You apparently have not been on TOR or followed reddit's /r/darknetmarkets at all. Tongue

Download tor and take a look around, it's not illegal to look and you will be surprised at what you see.

Since the downfall of Silkroad 1 & 2 there has been an explosion in darknet site offering anything a criminal would ever want or need.

Bitcoin is many used on dark market place because the government cant see what you bought and that is not so good.
I think criminals use it very much. But also some normal people I think. It will be more popular in the future I think.

My advise would be to stay our of those markets unless that is your market.  Obviously, you do not know much about them, so I am assuming that is not your market.  Those places give BTC a bad name and do not help with the advancement of BTC.  Again, this is only my opinion.  I personally do not support those markets in any way.

I wouldnt be so judgy, most of bitcoins value is BECAUSE of those darkmarkets, and the demand they create, not regardless....

In the old days, the bitcoin was valuable due to the dark markets. But it is totally different now. It has more legitimate use.

Dont underestimate the demand these dark markets still create. Do you think criminals would use bitcoin if there were no darkmarkets, what about all the drug users never wanting to use bitcoin, but NEED to to get good quality drugs... This STILL plays a HUGE part in the bitcoinrate...

I agree!
I think the price of btc, and the sustainibility of this currency, is still based on illegal stuff.

Terorists might blow countries, but they sure as hell pump btc price! And so are the drug lords and firearm sellers.

Dark marketplaces doesn't need to be about illegal stuff.
There is a plenty other business.
And it is good for health of bitcoin to have marketplaces wherever they can be
For small business it is cheaper to trade on darknet..
Yes, but your average Joe on the street would think that all items on the "darknet" are illegal saying if it's legal then why not just sell on the "clearnet"  ?

Just being on the "darknet" can continue to somewhat ruin bitcoins reputation as it has in the past.
(Although it is said that any advertising is good advertising s"o maybe it's not too bad)

The biggest problem that I know of with state legal marijuana is that the bank won't take their cash because they fall under federal law, not sure if this has been sorted out yet but if it will continue to be a problem then bitcoin should be the answer they are looking for.
There is a lot of "weed coins" around but they really should just go with bitcoin as it will be more versatile coin than say potcoin.

They obviously play some part... the most traded thing on the dark markets is apparently cannabis, which could be worth tens of billion dollars a year on the global market.
Lets face it, its much less harmful than alcohol and will eventually be legalised, but for now its a big driver for bitcoin.

But the cannabis is legalized in the US now, why would anybody buy from the darknet?

Because you still break the law federally and are prone to abuse by any police officer not having his day if you take it from the car..... Not to mention prices....

Yeah, that's very true... I think Colorado is still the only state that allows recreational use of marijuana.  There are a lot of states starting to allow medical uses of marijuana with a doctor's prescription, but definitely not a wide spread thing as of right now.

Actually medical marijuana is legalized in 23 states and also Washington DC.  It's also incredibly easy to get a prescription.  (at least in many of them, I can't say for all)

Its legal for recreational use in Washington (State), Oregon, Alaska and Colorodo.  In many states, like New York for example, less than an ounce is not illegal to posses.  (Smoking it in public or selling it is though)

I'm pretty sure you have people moving to Colorado to start growing it in mass quantities and then selling them to people in states through the dark web markets still to this day.  Marijuana is definitely the cash crop out west though.

Marijuana grown legally in mass quantities is regulated by the government.  The price of legal marijuana is higher than darknet marketplaces(although its probably pretty close after taxes).  But no, that's not happening.

There are a lot more countries where cannabis is illegal than not.
