Deepbit still pushes out the occasional 200+ KB block.  All pools create small blocks at times.  The way bitcoind handles putting a block together means right after a previous block is found you will likely not be including a significant number of transactions, especially if the previous block was a large one that included most of the transactions your node had record of.

Yeah, what I have heard is that there are multiple nodes configured differently. If you look at the sizes of blocks being created by DeepBit it's clear there's a 50kb hard cap somewhere, the sizes are too perfectly close to that boundary to be anything else. Of course other pools also have a variety of nodes configured differently, but 50kb is pretty low.

People can mine wherever they like, of course. I'm just pointing out that 50kb isn't really helping confirm transactions, which is the point of mining.

Please note that DeepBit still appears to be creating 50kb blocks at times - most pools are now upgrading to blocks 10x or 15x larger. Small blocks mean that transactions take longer to confirm.

If you're still mining on DeepBit, please consider moving to a pool that a more reasonable block size policy (basically - any other pool). Most of them seem to have lower fees too.

Your notifying the community of a pools apparent block size is completely appropriate and probably a good thing.

But please keep your opinions of where a person should be mining and why to yourself and let miners exercise their freedom of choice.  Whether you, or others, agree with that choice, or not, is immaterial.

Thanks for the info though.
Take Care,
Sam

sam seems to be a deepbit fan boy taking this agresive stance  whats left of deepbit is gpu miners who run on autopilot  when asics start to arive in few weeks  deepbit is finished   peace

That guy, you know, with the face
A half hour later still showing 600 while my miners are running 640MH and 280MH as usual, it seems I'm registering 2/3 my speed in this screen, http://puu.sh/2dyMt ... but in team it shows much less. http://puu.sh/2dyTp

Something is definitely wrong ... I am running my usual 900MH/s, but getting paid for about for about 80MH/s while the sidebar has 600 in the calculate daily pay button.

It has been this way over the past few hours, and I recalculated and recalculated my numbers and I've averaged 895MH/s over the past 8 hours.  What's going on here?

http://puu.sh/2dyik <-- shows over the past seven hours my sidebar shows around 80MH for payouts, yet my history shows about 500MH/s.

This is not cool, even if I was doing average 500MH/s my payout should reflect that, but my miners have both been running full steam, and I don't have a load of rejected shares, about 40 on one and 15 on the other.  Why isn't it reflecting this in my payouts?

Edit: also noticed my miners [tails 2 and 3 in the pic] are showing minutes since last share ... I post 2-4 shares per minute on one, and about 10 shares per minute on the other, atm its showing 3 minutes ago on miner 2, yet I have posted about 25 shares accepted in phoenix in the past 3 minutes.

Strange, yet attractive.
It's posted some posts above:

Code:
Sorry for this.
Recent USD/BTC rate rise caused the pool's hot wallet to be drained MUCH faster than usual and I had to manually refill it. Delays up to a few hours were experienced, but I think that it never happened for a 24h in a row.
As you may know, the rate is now all-time-high, so lots of users are cashing out.

Is deepbit.net having problems? I am freaking out right now ... I cannot withdraw. I click on Instant Payout and it came back with Page Temporarily Unavailable OR Please_wait_2_minutes!

Can anyone help please?

A bug was found and fixed today. This bug possibly caused mining problems for some users since 22-23.03.2013, so now things may get better if you were affected.
Today is 05.03.2013 only.
It was a typo, should read 02 (feb) instead of 03.

Deepbit, do you plan to devel your pool more to capture more users. No offense but it seems on the decline. Time to innovate?
Stratum implemented yet? New web interface for users? Lower pps fee? Other?
Yes, you are right, it was a long time without serious updates.
But at least web interface doesn't needs to be replaced since this design is perfect :)

I'll announce expected updates when ETA will be known.

It's gonna be the mid-time before the massive ASIC production runs in. I expect about a month (or less) before I switch off my 5970s Sad
