...this must be fun.

Or not. LOL! Boxing is not Deron William's business. Neither is it Frank Gore's. So I don't know what these two men are smoking lately but I doubt they will give real boxing fans a good show. But, well, these men have a big following that may be interested to watch their favorite athletes on the gloves inside the ring. I hope they won't be disappointed.

Anyway, does anybody think that the rise of celebrity boxing matches is already reaching a bothersome point?

I mean, money is most likely involved and they are most likely want some of that easy buck. besides, now that this information is out I am pretty sure some die-hard fans of them would likely want to watch them fight on the ring.

I wonder if bookies are planning of putting odds on their fight.

Does Deron Williams losses his money from the time he plays basketball?LOL

Not sure why ex-basketball players are also into this kind of exhibitions, except of course they are looking for a quick and good money in this kind of fights.

And my best guess is that Williams may have been in some bad investments that he needed to recover and have some money fast.

I'm analyzing the name and saw the other thread of Jake's brother. These two brothers are having their own matches. And this is what they're targeting, if Williams is going to be an undercard for the main event of Jake. We're likely to see these retired athletes that are going for their boxing matches. It became easier this time for these retired players to come out because of these Paul's action and they're doing that it seems they're a better promoter than the actual promoters.

Is Deron Williams still capable of doing training especially in bouts? He becomes undervalued in NBA because of some injuries and that makes him slow down. In boxing, there should be no room for being slowed down. How come he can move properly. While exhibition matches are crazy nowadays, so is their undercard.

I don't know why Deron enters the world of boxing out of the moon. Something that is not expected by him.

If Fury loses he should go to the top of a high mountain and become a monk Grin. But really I don't see that happening. Paul looks to be in shape but from what I understand his boxing skills are not very good. Have to give respect to Jake for making this fight happen. Even if he loses I don't think it's gonna be a knockout cause Tyron is more deadly than tommy and Jake survived. He might have been lucky but man can recover real quick.

He's kinda the brawl body type one and I guess this is just an exhibition match again? Well, saw this video about a professional UFC fighter Ryan Spann and he's been beaten by Deron during a sparring with him and our guy Deron Williams has an MMA Gym named  Fortis MMA in Dallas, I think that could explain the fond of him to be on the ring. Well, it's just fun to watch how he's doing now after he retires NBA.
Probably an exhibition match to attract more viewers for the main event and this is not bad at all since its fun to watch those retired players to be on a different sports and now they are coming to Boxing for an exhibition match. Looking also at his history, probably he’s focus now is on Boxing a new found sports for him, let’s see who will be his opponent after they officially announce it.

Surprising but great undercard fight. Ex NBA stars joining the exhibition fight craze now, maybe next time we will see NBA greats fighting each other in exhibition fights, and probably they will be in the main card too. I have no idea that Deron Williams could fight, honestly, I thought he was all basketball as that's his passion and he was really good prior to his injury.

Anyways, please update us the betting odds once they'll name his opponent here.

The betting odds for Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury is already out in some sportsbooks, of course in favor of Tommy Fury here. So maybe once they got a name for the opponent of Williams, we will see the odds as well. Don't know the reason why some of these ex-NBA stars want to have their shot inside the boxing ring, do they have passion for it or just mere because of the money that they can generate from this?

I didn't expect that there will be another ex-NBA player that will follow the steps of Nate Robinson in the boxing ring Cheesy. Just kidding.

If that's the case then good luck for him and I just hope that he will not end up the same as Nate. Well, both of them are players from different sport so seeing 2 first time boxers box in an exhibition match is kinda exciting I think. After all, both of them will be paid after the fight so... yeah maybe lets just enjoy the matches Cheesy.

I'm not surprised to see an ex NBA player fighting in boxing, Nate Robinson started it and we might see more to follow, but hopefully Deron Williams will be able to win as Nate Robinson did not survive on the power of Jake Paul.

I am not sure about his financial status now that he is already retired, but back in the day when he was still playing in the NBA, he manage to have some good contract with a huge amount of salary.

here is the details in case you guys are interested.

Deron Williams used to be my favorite player in the NBA. During his 2011-2012 (if I am not mistaken) season on the nets, he averaged like 20 points per game with 8 assists and highlights flying everywhere. It was so unfortunate to see him retire with the injuries.

With such news breaking out that he will be participating in an exhibition match, I swear, this is not one of those news that I want to see coming from one of my favorite players. As far as I remember, Nate Robinson also participated in an exhibition match (in which he was KOed) but maybe these people need the money. I mean, if I where in there shoes, I would probably do the same thing!

I'm a fan of Deron Williams but not interested in this plan. First, Nate Robinson then it's now Deron. Well, that's their decision but no way I will bet on this fight.

I'm excited, exhibition fights getting to a higher level and as an NBA fan, I would never forget Deron Williams as one of the best players in the NBA during his era, his time with the Utah Jazz was so meaningful.

Not against your view and opinion but I don't see how it become a higher level seriously. Peace. Cheesy

Last time I check, an ex NBA player Nate Robinson got knockout cold by Jake Paul, and now another ex NBA star trying his journey in boxing, this must be fun.
Most probably their purpose is to entertain and to have some money as well, since this is an undercard there's no assurance that they can get a full attention from the crowd though seeing an ex NBA players and a retired player, makes me think that Boxing is getting weirder now. Lots of exhibitions matches between those retired players out of boxing, this might really be the trend now, there's no full retirement for them.

They didn't mention a name but the name of Frank Gore to be his possible opponent has appeared in this article.

This undercard fight will be another major attraction of the fight, they really know how to do the right marketing.

FORMER NBA All-Star Deron Williams is entering the boxing ring, possibly against a fellow former pro athlete.

Williams, who played 12 seasons in the NBA, is fighting in the undercard of the Jake Paul-Tommy Fury event on Dec. 18 in Tampa, Florida.

Organizers have yet to officially announce Williams, opponent, but he is reportedly set to face former Pro BowlerFrank Gore, who played 16 seasons in the NFL.
