The rig is up and connected to SRR (status is green circle).

So I left it alone - since it green and online, and already assigned slot # and rig number at smOS SRR menu.

It should be sending I am alive pings so green circle prooves that.

Citronick so is everythin all right and working with This other motherboard ?
Can you make manual reset from SRR Tool and circle turns red and then green and it actually reboots ?
If yes, please confirm it once again and also can you make photo how you connected it to see what was wrong ?

Will revert as soon as possible when I visit the warehouse later today.

The status is still green so nothing unusual yet - however, I do want to test like what you describe above to make sure than its working just like the Asrock mobos.

I have 6 rigs with this Biostar Racing Z170-GT7 motherboard.

The other rigs are all Asrock H81 Pro-BTC so no issues there - SRR works perfectly.

A bit off-topic but how do you manage your H81 PRO BTC Rigs for HDMI's?
Are you using splitters? Mine wont turn on and shows no signal instead.

Thanks.

smOS will run your rig headless (ie. no monitor is required).

splitters? PCI-USB splitters?

I only have one rig with 7 x GPUs on H81 mobo with a 3 PCI-USB splitter. I dont think this is the way to go - took my ages to make it work in Windows, easier on Linux though to recognise the 7 GPUs. Best way moving forward is less or no risers. The Biostar Z170 can support 7 x GPUs with special BIOS settings (see yun9999's thread)

OK so now, touch only Green and Brown in different configurations and see in which it can shut down your rig.
Then tell us which cobination it was Smiley

This is more important than image:

So acording to this 15 and 16 is power on/off
So you have two options:
Brown = pin 15
Green = pin 16
Or'
Brown = pin 16
Green = pin 15

I will work only one way Smiley

Then if LED is working on and showing right status, dont touch it, renember it and leave it Smiley

It MUST work, its a ISO standard that all motherboards have Smiley
Its like plugging Computer Case and plugging in Simple Button that makes shortage on two pins Smiley

Phil - I have done as per your suggestion earlier, which was the 2 combinations :

W=12 or W=13, and Y=14, B=15, G=16

W=12 or W=13, and Y=14, G=15, B=16

The SRR shows the correct status (GREEN) since the rig is on.

But manually turning it off like the Asrock gives NO RESPOND.

Now, manually turning it rig OFF and getting the SRR to turn it ON ... No Respond.

I guess I have to play with more combinations to get this mobo working with SRR.

Anyone has idea on the the correct pin allocations for this mobo?

Maybe yun9999 has got his working....

How to connect 4 pins to motherboard (Biostar Racing Z170-GT7)

Currently I have paired the following pin numbers according to the 4 wires from cable to the SRR unit.

White = pin 13
Yellow = pin 14
Brown = pin 15
Green = pin 16

I couldn't power on the rig from SRR from idle/OFF status. Ideas?

Did I miss anything?

NOTE: I have however successfully integrated 28 rigs on ASrock H81-Pro BTC motherboards without any problems.

I think this below

LED STATUS:
13 = Yellow
11 or 12 = White

Power ON/OFF (you need to chekc both becasue there is no description where is - and +)
14 = Brown
15 = Green
OR
14 = Green
15 = Brown

T - 2 small request to be included in next release... thanks

Request #1
can you include a small utility that shows all the red/green dots in a single dashboard for ALL detected SRRs in a network environment?
Programming wise this is quite logical to do -- hope you can include this simple "SRR Network Dashboard" --- its useful for miners that have several SRRs in a network.
Shown as a single dashboard for easy monitoring -- the admin will know the state of health for the farm.

Request #2
If a slot is not used, can it be colored BLACK (or some meaningful color to represent UN-USED).... so that RED means slot taken and offline and needs SRR attention, and GREEN is all is well.

All status you have in simplemining.net dashboard, isnt that ok ?
All SRR in one dahboard it would be hard. I can make smaller window to run more windows on the same screen.

Colored black, idea is ok but i ned to check if its even possible.
I need to ask my friend if this can be done - propably not.
Status is taken by checking if 5V is present or not.

Anyway better would be "disabling" slot"

#1 -- yeah - small window so that i can fit 5-6 windows OR do Windows side by side OR windows stacked position. As long as the farm admin can see "state of the farm" in real time.
Currently, I would need toggle to each SRR window to see what going on. thanks for considering this for customers who are using more than 1 x SRR

#2 -- disable is OK, but keep the position of the circle.... so that it looks more obvious that a slot is UN-USED.

Hi T - when is the ETA on the new firmware the updated new features?

The 250sec max WD delay is not working well on my R cards but no issues for the RX cards.

I distributed the SRRs according to GPU types, but one SRR unit is managing RX and R cards - I have disabled that SRR for now because it's resetting the R cards at random. Hope I can enable it soon so that the whole farm can achieve 100% uptime.

Thanks

Hi. It wannt problem of long start Smiley
After all i made mistake and package that needs to be present for sending keepallive packets was installed only in RX version.
v1075 SimpleMiningOS fixes that !

Aha! I have activated all SRR units and running them overnight -- looking good so far!

All green -- I am happy.

Now I dont worry too much when I am away from farm.

New goal for farm is 100% uptime.

Those who experience expensive shipping or find SRR too expensive...

.... I think the downtime saved in a week can be translated to savings enough to justify SRR investment.

Just ordered one shipping to the US was $22 ouch , to do all 30 rigs would cost me a fortune, for now i have 10 problem rigs i will test these on
Ok.
At the beginning of April there will be Extension Boards available.
So you can add this to your SRR in April Smiley
