I have a question about your Monthly Wagering Competition. I saw in other thread that
Total Prize Pool of up to 2.1 BTC, 21 ETH & 115 LTC!
and regarding prizes (let's talk just about BTC because the percentage is the same for other coins):
--------------------->Bitcoin Wagering Contest prize:<---------------------
★ Contest Place - Reward % - Maximum Reward ★
1 - 0.2% of the players total wager - 1 BTC
2 - 0.17% of the players total wager - 0.5 BTC
3 - 0.14% of the players total wager - 0.3 BTC
4 - 0.12% of the players total wager - 0.2 BTC
5 - 0.1% of the players total wager - 0.1 BTC
Don't you think that the prizes are too small to attract players? I mean, if I understand it correctly, someone taking the first place will receive 100k satoshis in case of wagering 0.5 BTC. And if it will be the 5th place then the prize will be just 50k satoshis for the same amount wagered. I'm talking about 0.5 BTC because the most wagered by a player is 0.26 BTC as of now and it's been two weeks since the competition has started.
I mean what's the point of talking about the Total Prize Pool if it's obvious that the first prize will not be even close to 1 BTC? If you are saying about what is your Total Prize Pool then the rewards should be related to that and not to the player's total wager.
Besides, although your House Edge is small, 0.7%, it is most likely what a player will lose wagering any amount. And since your top prize is more than 3 times smaller than that, it doesn't look like a promotion.
P.S. I just reread my post and I think it may appear rude, for which I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you. I meant to be helpful and maybe to clarify something for myself.
The maximum reward is 1 btc for the top wager meaning that wagering above 2000 BTC will net you the same amount for the maximum reward 1 btc.
The reward meaning that the competition will give out at the most 1 BTC not wager only 1 BTC.
Also I agree with you with the wagering competition not being that attractive, with the first place winner only playing at a 0.5% house edge the whole time if he wins.
In the future, I would like more fixed prises for wagering instead of a % of a total wager,
because it's essentially like you said, "Besides, although your House Edge is small, 0.7%, it is most likely what a player will lose wagering any amount"
edit: I think I misread your post, but otherwise I agree with you with the prize pool instead of total wager
