Everyone stating that gambling will affect someone's image in the society so this is actually happened with you?

For me it happened once why are you gambling its a sin in our life I replied its my wish I can do what ever I wanted.

It won't affect your image if you are not going to tell it to anyone, especially to your family and friends, besides, there is no reason for you to tell it since they are just going to say bad things about you. It would be better if you will make these kind of things private, for us to have a peace of mind against the judgmental society. You don't have to boast it to everybody that you are playing gambling and you are making money in gambling.

In fact, just earn and play in gambling quietely, and let your success make the sound.

Gambling is not a crime at all people are only saying what they think about it. We should have positive thinking and we only should have our own idea. As I am an office worker there are allot of people some likes gambling so it's their ideology which can never be change but I can show them my profit so one day they will admire me.
Does it really need for you to be admired? That kind of mindset will just push you out on doing gambling activities even more.Risk on getting addicted is pretty high
in result you would mess up your work and your entire life. Its better not to think on what others do think of about gambling.Theres no need to prove out because you wont get nothing if do anybody admires you.Admire for what? becoming a good and profitable gambler? I dont think so.I dont know whats the thing on your mind but it sounds dumb to have that kind of mindset or that kind of plan.Gambling is never been a bad thing since its being created for sole purpose of entertainment but peoples greed on what makes them look bad because of the circumstances that they are facing on.

it depends on who you are socializing with. if with people who are anti gambling and think gambling is just wasting money he can be to judge you and your reputation. but if you gambling just for yourself and your own pleasure I think that's fine. after all, everyone has their own adrenaline pleasures. if you like to challenge your adrenaline by risking money I think that's fine. just have to know the limits of our own before losing everything.

Why don't you think it doesn't affect reputation, if you play moderately of course it doesn't affect reputation. But those who lose a lot are often said to be heavy gambling addicts, they spend 24 hours gambling, doing nothing else. But these are rare, life has forced them.
Well maybe these people that you mentioned as spending 24/daily in gambling are millionaires or billionaires since they can sustain their addictions right?
So I don’t think they need to be forced by life as the only thing that matters to them is to fulfill their daily routine as gamblers  maybe that’s right?
But if a people has a family and all he’s earning are being lose in gambling then that’s the person must be forced by life to prosperity and goodwill

In my country gambling doesn't truly affect the reputation of someone. It is mostly a way of entertainment here so it doesn't bother someone's reputation.
If you are a gambler you are a normal people as most of the people gamble, but if you overdo it then of course your reputation is going to be affected.

Yes,  in some way, when my wife discovered that I spending money on gambling.
We had very difficult talk after that and I realized that I have to be more open and honest in our relationship.
Many people don't like gambling or have very bad opinion about it,  including my wife.
Well, you have said it yourself—many people don't like gambling including your wife. But that's most probably because she just wants you to avoid the possible consequences. After all, she's your wife and she cares about you. She's probably thinking that there's more to life than gambling and you should spend your money on more important things. Gambling's not certain after all.

In our hometown, there's a known description if the person starts to become poor and he's a known gambler. People on there will start to blame his misfortune 'because he's a gambler'.

And that makes others aware that they shouldn't gamble too if they don't want to share the same fate. In my personal life, it didn't affected my personal reputation. I think it's still depending on how you handle yourself and the situation.

I don't see it as a negative thing lol. Actually, if the man indeed became poor and lost his fortunes due to his gambling habits Cheesy he can be a fine example fot those who lack self-control. But obviously, the man must be supported too and helped and not left alone.

You are right and he needs help and serious medical attention like having a therapy to recover from his serious addiction. I was never treated like that because people know I only do betting on fun games with a little amount of money. Giving a man who lost everything a stigma does not help him and will just push to harm himself. People should reach out instead of acting like they have never done any mistakes in their lives.

Yes, in some country, being a gambler will have a bad image in the society. But in another country, that thing will be a normal thing as in that country, and many gamblers have the same things as him. But that will be easy to blame someone if he becomes poor because of playing gambling.

I agree that a person needs to be helped to solve his problem so he can rise up from his downs. But that person needs to realize that what he did before was wrong and it cost everything so we can help him to get away out.

So far, I think the bad image will come to us if we cannot control ourselves in gambling, especially if we become poor by spending too much money on betting.

Many people don't like gambling or have very bad opinion about it,  including my wife.
We can't blame those that have bad impression on gambling because they believe gambling usually lead to trouble due what happened to some gamblers which end up bankruptcy and this was caused by gambler who don't follow or understand the rules and regulation of gambling profitable but after the reward involves or gambling to recover losses.
This is the fact and its true that we cant really blame those people not to become negative towards gambling because we have seen the worst cases possible scenario that
might happen to an individual if he do let himself involved or tied with gambling too much.

This is why some of them or even majority will really have that kind of negative view towards it.

I never experienced anything with regard to my personal reputation because most of the time when I gamble, I usually am discreet and for the past few years I only gamble online or through an app that I’ve uploaded on my cellphone. Doesn’t need that much money to gamble too so I don’t think my reputation will be ruined by gambling  at my convenience.

I am very thankful that there is online gambling which is I can hide while I am going to gamble. Yes, it can affect my reputation because that is against with our belief and because of our religion. My whole family had faith in our religion and including me, even though drinking liquor is not allowed. I want to transfer in religion but I can't because I respect my family. To cut my long story into short, I gamble at home in my room while drinking liquor and relaxing while having entertainment in gambling. Who cares, nobody knows because I am using the internet just to gamble.

That's sad. Are you addicted to gambling or do you just gamble for to escape reality (entertainment)? I'm sorry that you have to deal with it in such a conservative family. However, I would advise you not to leave your religion because of your addiction to gambling, religion for many is a powerful force that has helped many when their gambling habits were at peak. What you are doing is both harmful to mind and health, I hope you can find a real life friend or someone who you can be open with and not stay in isolation Smiley

It's because most people that gambles gets addicted to it. You can't blame your wife if she doesn't want you to gamble, she just don't want you to become one of those addicted gamblers that ruin their life. If you really can't stop that habit prove it to her that you'll still be responsible to your family and only spend some extra money that's left to you.

Yes, that happened to me once in the past. But at that time I was still young and didn't really care about other people's views. Btw, since I was growing up, I realized that people's views of us are important. I no longer expose my gambling activities so that no one else will know. I keep my habit a secret.
Just online gambling who will make ourselves secretly. I've been two years to playing gambling and there is no one who knows that I like gamble, especially my family. Yeah you are right the perspective of other people is as a banchmark we live and socializing, moreover if we live in the country who have a view that gambling is dangerous thing. Most of them will avoid us and we just make a friend with another gambler.
