Anyone knows how many S9 batch 1 were sold? These S9s should be received before this difficulty ends thus impacting this difficulty. But 1000 S9s is just about 1%, and I doubt much more were sold thus not big impact at all?

So Yesterday was +8.33% with 156 Blocks and the Hash rate is gradually pushing up with the Period to date now at +6.4%. However the big news, as alh has said, is on the Price... Big rise Yesterday and continuing on up Today. This may be the push that sees us convincingly through $600.

Coinbase is 648 usd! I sold 0.80 btc at 642 just to know I was able to sell at a price this high.
The diff is hanging in there pretty high we look to do over 200 easy this jump

At a price of $630+, there is plenty of gear which is viable to run for the next 4 weeks. SP20's and S5's have to still have legs at this price, assuming they are paid for. Or perhaps it's the best time to SELL some older gear. In my experience, when BTC price is high, older gear fetches a better price (in fiat).

Coinbase is looking GREAT right now we blew through 600. Which was surprising I was expecting some big sell walls. But at 635 USD per BTC right now... its a good time to be holding. And we have not even made it to having yet how high can it go could be fun to watch.

Yes I too had expected Halving to be at a period end, but agree that is not what the maths tell us.
So Yesterday another flat Day with exactly 144 blocks. Period to Date we seem settled in the +4% to +5% band. Coin had a good day Yesterday and Today we are on the rise again. Hopefully we will have another crack at $600 in the next few Days.

For some reason I thought the halving would line up with the end of difficulty period. But with a cycle of 2016 for difficulty adjustment, that doesn't go into 420,000 without a fraction. So as I figure it, well finish the current adjustment period, and then get another full 2016 block period, and then the "halving" will happen a third of the way through that period.
Just an interesting fact (assuming I did the math right).

Yesterday was +14.58% with 165 Blocks and the period to Date Run Rate is moving in the +4% to +8% band for the moment.
Coin had another loss Yesterday and seems to have entered a small downtrend, let's hope the uptrend can return.

So Yesterday was virtually a full Day in the new Difficulty Period and we did exactly 144 Blocks. I think with the way the last Period went that the correction will have been close to correct. Today we are tracking in a +4% to +8% band but way too few blocks in the Period to Date for that to mean anything.
I am still intrigued by the Day last Period that Bitfury was down which dropped the Period to Date down from -4% to -5%. It was then in the following 2 days that we saw the steady climb up to -2%?
The coin recovered some of it's previous Days loss. I guess breaking through $600 is going to take a few attempts.

I woke up slightly hungover at 9:15 am New Jersey time went to bitmaintech page and no batch 2 in sight.
An hour later the listing for s-9 posted up and while I could have purchased 2 s-9 batch twos I ordered 1 batch 2.
So I have 3 s-9's coming 2 batch 1's and 1 batch 2.

this diff rise will be interesting, with the arrival of new equipments it may be 10-15 %

My guess is that they will start shipping when they get back after the festival smack dab on the 12th, but nothing else will happen until then, including no new S9 batch announcements.
Looks like I was wrong. Bitmain says they're going to announce a 12.9 TH/s variant of the S9 tonight.
I thought that Chinese companies took their festivals seriously. The fact that someone at Bitmain is working during a national holiday is interesting.
Maybe the uptake for the overpriced S9 just before the halving has been less than they expected. It will be very interesting to see the price of this new slightly lower powered S9 batch.

but I have 6 coins burning a hole in my pocket for gear.

I'm in Japan now so I'm almost in the same timezone as Bitmain. But I left my Trezor at home, so unless the new model is less than I'm carrying on my phone (i.e. dirt cheap) I won't be buying one today.
