Got to go after the computer literates first.

DGB's biggest allies are everyday computer users who would love to mine a little DGB on the side (if they knew about DGB in the first place), that is, if we really want to take DGB mainstream.

This isn't really a good news, is it?
I'm afraid I agree. Totally absurd.

The Chinese tend to think of Bitcoin & Digital Currencies almost like gambling or the lottery. It will either be worth a lot or nothing. They also seem to view it as a way to move money outside of China to other countries for investments or for travel. As banking fees are pretty cheap & transactions are fast already in China there is not the motivation for fee reductions like you see in the US & Europe.

This is very interesting & brings up so very interesting questions. Overall we made several new contacts at the expo & we introduced DigiByte to many new people.

The conference itself was unorganized & experienced several technical problems. It could have been managed much better. However, the quality of attendees was very good. The majority were Chinese & we gained some valuable insight in to how Chinese people not only tend to use Bitcoin, but how they view it.

The DigiByte website is back online! We had to contact tech support at our hosting provider to have them manually restart the server. We apologize for the downtime.

Which Pool, which System, and its not digibyte.conf; this ist just for solo mining.
So let me know your setup an i can help.

MultiAlgo Options

Multi-algoyou need one of these settings in your .conf to solo mine whichever algo you choose:
Code:
algo=scrypt
algo=sha256d
algo=groestl
algo=qubit
algo=skein

Hi ReSl, thanks for your response!

Currently I'm testing this very very nice stratum pool server : http://www.coiniumserv.com/ to soloing mining with all my rigs  Grin

And you're right about digibyte.conf tips, this is not the file I need to change, after reviewing the digibyted options, I see the testnet param  only I need lauch digibyted  with -testnet option  at commandline, and specific the algo to test in digibyte.conf Grin

Tempted to start mining on this coin and throw me hash rate towards it. Unsure tho at this time as am looking for more newer coins but I do like DigiByte as its been around for longer than some of the new ones that have died off.

Welcome to Digibyte. We moved from srypt algo to multi algo..... This is the coin who is still in the dark but we will get the best Coin. So just stick with us. We are here only for the long run!

Yeah I remember it from the early days however didnt do much with it. Nice to see the changes and implementing multi algo now can use me sha miners on this coin too.

Talking about mining...

Is anyone mining Digibyte on Qubit algo using win7 and R9 280x ?
I'm having hard times trying to find a good setup.

I can mine Skein np on Miners-pool.eu , but I cannot find a working config for Qubit.

If anyone wouldn't mine sharing some informations about this. It would be great! Smiley

Here are my batch File on Win7x64. Im on R9 290; maybe it wil help.
sgminer -k qubitcoin -o stratum+tcp://stratum.eu.miners-pool.eu:8390 -u xxxxxxxxxxxxxx -p xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx --gpu-platform 0 -w 256 -I 15 -g 2 --thread-concurrency 20481 --no-submit-stale

And what about this idea,
You take a company that is selling mining hardware for example https://zeusminer.com/.
With every product they sell give some free Digibyte to the customer that is buying his equipment.
You can handle them a voucher with information about Digibyte,how the redeem the Digibytes and how to mine them.

Since I am a self-confessed ASIC hater, my knee jerk reaction is to be negative on that, but I think the idea sounds very interesting. How about if it were done with Newegg or Amazon? Smiley (It's just that I am very biased towards the everyday computer user both from a crypto ethos standpoint as well as from a best practice for mass adoption standpoint.)

Haha zeusminer whas just a example  Wink Newegg or Amazon would be awesome offcourse!
This way of getting a wide spread word out is not to expensive to start and you are targeting you "advertising".

Hi,
I have win7 and 4 r9 280x's mining on qubit with sgminer-sph
I used to mine on groestl but qubit works much better, low temps and a bit more profitable.

here are my conf

"kernel" : "qubitcoin",
"gpu-threads" : "4",
"gpu-fan" : "80",
"gpu-powertune" : "-20",
"intensity" : "16",
"temp-overheat" : "85",
"temp-cutoff" : "90",
"worksize" : "128"

Thanks!
I believe you have to edit the .conf file? Smiley

Will try to do this on my rig at work tomorrow !
You are welcome! If you need more help on how to do it msg me.

About the Boostpool, maybe we should start a thread about this?
Explaining everything and warn people about the Hidden fee and false information he is providing.

Nah. I think we've done / are doing enough. The people who need to know already know. I think the word is out. That's not to say that we shouldn't post anything new we come across, not by any means, but that we'd be spinning our wheels if we tried to do more. I obviously think he should be ostracized, but that's my opinion, and I could be over-reacting. If other well intentioned and level headed people think it's okay for him to continue raping DGB to manipulate the price of GRS and also line his own personal account by means of fraudulent 'advertising' . . .

For the record, I still think we should:

Make mining pool identification on the block explorer mandatory.

Any pool that refuses to identify itself would have its IP blocked.

All non-complying pools would be given a 24 hour notice before being blocked.

Solo miners would have an IP ID “exception”. (Simple probability analysis would alert us to a pool masquerading as a solo miner.)

Excellent article 24.

I'm not sure if I agree with his outlook on BTC's long term fate, but he's probably on the right track with the twins' underlying motivation, and most assuredly about the fact that it won't be long until the "yung" hucksters learn the meaning of words like "fines, forfeiture, incarceration, parole and restitution".

The writing is on the wall. This is where cryptos are headed. The good news (and it is VERY GOOD NEWS) is that it will also bring legitimacy, to the legit coins, that is, and that is very good news for the legit and completely transparent coins especially when keeping in mind that the scam coins that don't comply will die, along with all the rest of the scammers who severely harm this industry by keeping the honest and hard working majority away.

The best thing that could ever happen to the crypto scene is for it to get cleaned up and legitimized.

And just watch price go sky high when it does (for the legit coins, of course).

Thanks for posting.

Yeah it's a really nice read.
Hard work will get paid soon!
