Where do you purchase one and how do you store it? Is it a backup? What's the quality of storage in terms of duration? Can it last for a long time?

That's unfortunate. What are methods are there to backup DGB besides the wallet.dat file? Are there paper wallets or secondary level of protection in case of a situation like this?

Thanks.

Awwww....fck my notebook where i had 30k DGB (i know it's small summ  Roll Eyes ) crashed few days ago and i can't get the data out, fuck.
Yep i should have used paper wallet if you store it at good place and it won't get burn/destoryed by water or so then it's maybe the best way.

Same here. I just think the right foundation is being set and it's not unheard of to see inferior coins go from 100 sat to 50000 sat. Marketing, technology, community, etc will get you there.

is launch today?
We have ran into some more issues with groestl and the mining pool. We are close to getting things figured out. We apologize for the delay but we want to make sure everything is good to go!

are you guys chancing the script protocol ? my wallet is stuck, out of sync ( the latest wallet one ofc ;-)..)  at 3 ours behind !...

well......... if so ( to witch protocol we go ? ) ........are we supplied with the correct miners for that ?

I think it will be released today or tomorrow and then a few weeks for all pools and others to update.

Yes, there is. Not sure who keeps putting lower sell orders, but either way, nice sign ahead of a huge multi algo implementation.

Looks like the multi algo conversation is helping DGB. Volume has hit 6 BTC at Mintpal and price is up over 48%!

Finnaly some liquidity incomming! I hope that we will go waaaay further.

The source code to one of the modified diamond miners is found at the link listed below.  Had to wade through a bunch of those diamond posts to find it...

https://github.com/danbi/sph-sgminer

Danbi's pool is located here http://dmdpool.digsys.bg/

I found this information on the post that is here.  https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.6666397

I also found these links by Danbi that helps explain a few things

 https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.6676938
 https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.6684403

In particular, this one has code in it.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.6702636

I hope this helps and Groestl is still an option, if not, please let me know and I wont spend any time researching this.

@Kayahoga

Do you have a link to the specific sgminer they used?

http://bit.diamonds/mining.html

I believe that is what you are looking for, the first page of their bitcointalk page has some information on it as well.  What you described is exactly what I remember having an issue with when Diamond was first released.

I also think that this might be useful information as well.

Will we need a special miner ( or kernel )  for the new algorithm?  For instance, there is myriad-groestl for the Groestl algorithm, will there be a digibyte-groestl ?

Also, will the single pool handle every algorithm?  Or is there a separate pool for each algorithm.

A special thanks to the DigiByte team, really looking forward to the new changes!

A single pool will be able to handle all algorithms. A separate miner will be required for every algorithm. We will release a detailed guide on how to mine and what is needed when we release the update.

We have 4/5 algos working properly but we are in the process of switching out Groestl. Groestl was working on the network but after a few days we have been un-able to get it to work correctly on a mining pool. We are swamping for Keccack to see if things will improve so we can get the update rolled out.

Stay tuned!

I followed the devs from Diamond Coin for quite awhile and when they changed their algo to Groestl they had a ton of issues with pool mining and I think in the end a special kernel was created for sgminer.    I am pretty sure it was problems with stratum since everyone could solo mine.  I think somewhere around page 34 on https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=580725.660 they talk about it, look for posts by Danbi, I think he helped with the kernel if I remember correctly.  It could all be totally different but if its sounding familiar check it out.

Hope it helps...
This sounds very familiar as we are able to solo mine but stratum is not submitting valid blocks to the daemon. Thanks for posting! We will check it out!

I know if everything is moving to Keccack then the train has already started in that direction but I was really looking forward to using Groestl, I love how efficient it is on the gpus and how much power it saves.  I haven't looked into how much power Keccack uses in comparison, I thought it was a little less than running scrypt on my 280x.  Does anyone have any good articles about Keccack performance on GPUs ( power consumption, optimized miners, graphics card efficiency etc. ) ?
We would love to find out more info about this as well!
