Can't you access your wallet.dat with a fileexplorer? The wallet has to store it's data somewhere, right?

I wish it was that simple.  Unfortunately the android wallet doesnt work that way.  I tried to locate the wallet file(s) but could not find anything Sad

That's a little scary.

Have not been able to use my android wallet for a while now. I can't even get it to run on my phone anymore. It downloads and then informs me that the package is not signed correctly and won't install. When I first installed it, all seemed well and then one day I realized it would not send half its contents because apparently there was an unconfirmed transaction in it. I never put much dgb in it because all this stuff is new and has not been thoroughly tested yet, so i just uninstalled it and tried to re-install after the latest update but so far, I just get the same message. This would all be very frustrating if I actually needed it. I guess we should start collecting all the issues and bugs in the other forum and hopefully get some of this nailed down or it's possibly going to do more damage to dgb than good.

Guys,

My android wallet keeps crashing when I start it.  Is there any way to backup my keys without using the actual wallet?

thanks!

Did you send any Digibytes to the wallet?
Did you try to take out your battery and restart?

I dont think there is a way to backup your keys without a wallet.
Maybe try to find the files on your phone. Copy them to your computer.Delete Digibyte wallet and download a new wallet and then replace your files. (Risky)

I think there are coins in the wallet yes.  It's coins that were on Mintpal when it exploded, but when you could still withdraw.  Unfortunately I was never able to verify since the wallet crashed on opening.  This problem is long going by now.  I hoped it would resolve with updates on the wallet, but it was not.  Meanwhile my device is upgraded from android 4 to android 5.1 (nexus 4), but that also didnt help.

I also did some research to see if it is possible to get the files from the device, but little is to be found.  Too bad its not just a wallet.dat file you could copy from the device

who cares who dumped his coins.
everyone is free to make his own choice.

DGB is a long term project ,
if the price is 40 sat or 50 sat now in my opinion that doesn't really matter much.

the one that dumped his coins made somone els happy with alot of dgb.

now lets leave this behind and focus on page 1000 of this topic Cheesy

Guys/girls I'd hardly call this dumping, it's just a bit of selling. Dumps in crypto are usually brutal, but this is not what we are seeing. Dgb is no shitcoin, so it's very unlikely to happen. Steady decreases and increases are natural and shows a healthy coin.

Anyone wanting to sell can just put up a sell wall, there are plenty of enthusiastic people wanting to buy bulk amounts (myself included).

P.S. Can we please keep it friendly in the thread? Many people have joined the Digibyte community because of the good attitudes of the members, not to mention the awesome dgb team. Personal problems can be addressed and resolved via PM, and any offending posts deleted if necessary.

In a few post back, that guy was just implying and attacking me in every message he shares and accuses me for dumping DGB, even if he did not say it directly, he meant it and kinda insulted... I thought I had to answer him after all.. I guess he knows now it was not me unless he is a adolescent...

I also am sorry for disturbing the DGB community. That being said, I will not remove any of my messages. Now I STFU. Best,

noted: It's hard enough to get three people in a room to agree with each other, we are attempting to put the world in that room. Sorry, if I have caused offense to anyone but I was commenting on what looked like a form of deception to me. Anyway you are right, dgb is certainly not a shitcoin.

ooh  touchy! I think I might of hit a nerve. Well rest assured I won't be STFU or hard forking myself on your account but thank you for the sentiment. I have not said you are dumping. I didn't even say you did but you did and you told everyone you did it too. Does not matter how dedicated Jared and the team are when major holders of dgb throw their toys out now does it. I suspect you will be hard forking yourself mate!

Oh I can see a dumper when it's a big one, make no mistake but you are right this is a free market and people can do as they please with their own money! Grin

Today many other coins are pumped, and therefore impatient dgb holders dumped and moved.
Are you an impatient dgb holder halinyo?  There are always consequences to grasping an opportunity and they are normally  at best proportional to the opportunity grabbed. So, as a large holder of dgb, you can make waves, waves rock the boat and everyone gets an uneasy feeling. I even fancied a nice gentle cruise myself.
Yesterday has gone, today will be yesterday tomorrow so I'm going to think about tomorrow for a bit and relax, I think you should try it.

I am an impatient person but DGB is a different thing for me... It does not mean that I am dumping any DGBs just because someone tells you that in pm...

Anybody can create wave, with a few millions of DGB, If I have created, that could have been Tsunami...
So please STFU and stop telling me that I am dumping DGB...

Again, I am not dumping anything, look at DOGE, %20 increase today.. So those dumpers the ones left DOGE in hurry and now going back by dumping DGB,,,, Look at BLK coin, has been %20, look at XPY that shit coin even increased a lot.... Of course, if there is no news, it is expected that impatient DGB holders will dump a bit... So if you care about the price this much, then go and buy, stop whining about the price.....

Final point to make, If I want to dump, I dump, and it is none of your business... I am one of the oldest holder of DGB from day one... So you are not in a position to justify me... Go and hard fork yourself or wait for the digispeed fork... so, one is hard, the other one is speedy, whichever you like, go for it... and again STFU please.

Also can you also use a QR-scanner to pay online perhaps? this would be much faster and much easier than Paypal, creditcard etc.

Yes you can.

You're right. It is much faster and easier.

This leads us to an important point that needs to be leveraged to the hilt: it has been said that the process of buying DGB is so cumbersome that it's hard to reasonably expect people to make the effort, but if we show people just how fast and easy DGB is used after aquiring them, that might change their minds about the necessary purchase formalities.

Additionally, with price stable like it is, the fear factor of holding something that is incapable of holding its own value should diminish, and that should be positively reinforced by a steady uptrend that I hope begins to take shape.

@DigiByte, it's great to see you taking a more active/proactive role - remember, you're the leader of the club . . .  Wink

I think multiple altcoins will be in the race for attaining mass adoption but Digibyte to me seems the most logical candidate. With all dem altcoins I think in the future stores will just accept "crypto currency" where you pay using a digital currency that is instantly exchanged for fiat currency and so you pay with crypto? damn this stuff is confusing sometimes. I had a 9 for international monetary economics lol but now I am stuck in micro-economics  Huh All I know is there needs to be a tight connection between FIAT currency and cryptocurrency in order to be adopted by mass consumers and companies.
I look forward to the day we can exchange dgb directly for fiat too but mostly I look forward to the day when people forget about fiat and only being tied to fiat through BTC does seem to hold everything back but early days!
