I see Digihash is back up, but I can't run such a low difficulty on my contracts (Max seems to be 256). Anybody know a reliable Digibyte pool where I can run a minimum 1024 difficulty with scrypt algo?

When I type DigiByte pool into search engine, it throws up stuff like this...

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-digiforce-new-digibyte-mining-pool-446670  DigiForce, looks like a community effort but where is it? Huh

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/pplns15-fees-hackshard-digibyte-mining-pool-active-owners-irc-channel-413020  Closed down due to lack of use. Sad

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/pickaxecc-dgb-0feeprop-digibyte-mining-pool-413940  Users accusing operator of scamming! Shocked

If you are bringing hardware to the DigiByte party, please support our official developers pool. http://digihash.co/ Wink
the blocks factory is the only other pool besides the official that is decent ..

we have trouble getting one set up for ourselves currently, hence this :  https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/acpanarchistsprimeann-poolthread-digishield-pure-pow-join-us-1022128

I started off my post above looking through the eyes of most miners, well SHA ASIC miners at least. With the price falling in the market it is easy to conclude that mining DigiByte isn’t profitable and that it would be better to mine bitcoin then buy DigiByte with the proceeds, perhaps!
The problem with doing that is when, I remove my mining hardware from the DigiByte network, I weaken it because it is currently too small. The effect of me leaving reduces the overall difficulty and allows what is left behind to mine more coins. Now if the majority of the network is being made up of, let’s call them ‘liquidity traders’, all of these coins can end up on the market driving the price down.  It may be that they have to sell to cover overheads but they really should be mining bitcoin at the moment if this is true. It could also be a deliberate attempt to undermine the value of DigiByte and make it look less attractive. Whatever it is it is not good for the overall security of DigiByte because as far as I can make out the network speed of what seems to represent the ‘liquidity traders’ is at least double that of what looks to be the genuine DigiByte community’s SHA hashing power.
I have not removed my mining from DigiByte but sometime soon I will be forced to reduce it. I am actively encouraging other SHA miners to join it and help make it more secure. On the whole they need to be prepared to swallow the overhead cost of doing it but many hands make light work and the burden does not need to be overwhelming. These people will also be participating in a truly distributed network, like the one bitcoin was supposed to have been with the bonus of being part of a much better class of community. There is every chance that one day their sacrifice will more than pay off when DigiByte realises it’s true market value because it isn’t anywhere near now.

Please join me and welcome miners whenever they come, whatever they mine and let us become the one true community of distributed digital currency!

Hi all, I've just come across the DGB after mining a few other altcoins that haven't proven to have the support of an active community, or active management for that matter.... So I've been looking for a coin with these qualities. DGB looks like a well thought out coin with a pretty active bunch of people going by the thread here.

I see you're trying to build a bigger network of dedicated miners..... I'm happy to throw hat into the ring with a fair few MH's of hashing power. Look forward to seeing how it all goes!
A very big WELCOME to you digitaldoxy, I hope you will consider using the official pool and supporting our developers too!

Thanks mate! Happy to contribute, are there any speed limit for connections on scrypt algo pool, as I've had a couple pools not happy due to me having   too high hash speed?

I second Jumbley's welcome ... and it will be nice to have some addition hash power in the scrypt pool.  I'm not a pool admin - but I don't think there are any limits.  A couple of months ago someone had a hash rate around 350.  I imagine they were pointing a Titan at the pool.  So, if you do something similar it will just increase our frequency of finding blocks and probably increase the difficulty a bit too ... so welcome to the DGB community.  It's a great coin, with a professional development team, and this is a great group.

"The animated shark sucking up the floating DGB for instance."

Hey thats me!  Grin I just want to say i dont market make / manipulate the price of Digibyte and i know that some community members can confirm that.
I just buy when i have some free BTC by buying and trading other coins,And yeah i just like to post some funny pics some times haha.

Just to be shure,I like your story and i really need to say i like the way you think about Digibyte.  Wink

We know 24, your arrow is straight!  The miners we are talking about are the reason DGB is not profitable and I am suggesting this is quite deliberate and that we need to attract more distributed sha miners. It's a shame but the Black Arrow X1 is the perfect miner for this kind of job and it is in line with their original concept of it. It's a shame they made such a hash of their business!
Why I mentioned BA X1 or X1.5, someone here has made quite a nice guide to one and although I am afraid that this company has very badly handled its business and many customers are less than satisfied with the service and support they have received, the machines are really quite nice and would make a good distributed DigiByte  sha network!

So I downloaded and installed DigiHash + the SDK.  Whenever I try any of the algos I keep getting the same error messages.

I get.

DigiHash Version 1.0.0.26149

...

Redirection is not supported.
Stop..........done

Has anyone seen this problem?  Are there error logs I can post somewhere?
I think it's the same as thisSad

and here is something else to think about!

Who has space for an old antminer a car battery, controller and small off the shelf wind generator?
Perhaps you could even heat your green house with such apparatus!
Imagine if people across the world had devices like this mining DGB and imagine the distributed network it could be!

So we need to attract more Dedicated miners right?
What about start tipping the dedicated miners on the digihash pool on a 2 weeks basis? Just give them some extra and 1 time a month a big jackpot tip on block X.
I think i have some spare Digibyte for dedicated miners.

 Roll Eyes?
For someone that doesn't mine themselves, that's a brilliant idea to drum up a bit of support.  Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley
Cool And that on a saturday night with a nice beer and some poker,I am a genius Smiley
So how can we start this? Any ideas anyone?
Let's see what kind of response we get from the rest of the community on this, I'd love to see some new faces, if there are any looking in, as well as here from any of the regulars.

That's a really interesting and good idea ... i like it in lots of ways ... when you say tipping ... do you mean from the standard 3% fee that goes to supporting DGB development?  ONe of the main reasons I like mining in the official pool is because the fees go to DGB development.  Maybe something with transaction fees ... or, even, something like putting in place a  small percentage fee (.5%) that multipools have to charge, and then redistributing those funds to miners in the official pool.
Yeah i really dont know how to handel this but  i have been thinking like this..
We need more dedicated miners and with that comes more dedicated community members so why not do this as a community?

Sure, lets leave this so they have a chance to look in and participate. We have a great community in here but there is always room for improvement.

Hi Kayahoga.  Just FYI ... I cannot answer your question but I don't want you to feel like it's being ignored.  There are people in here who are well informed about Digihash, I'm just not one of them.  So ... I'm sure you'll get a response.
+1 sorry but I'm sure there is someone who can help you although they might not be in here right now.
