Hello guys, first post after long time, I decide to come back in crypto and i am going to say that i am impressed at the marketing/communication of DigiByte, i can't understand why this coin is so low value, it's certainly one of the most professional alt - coins out there.

one question, does the https://digibytetip.com/ works ok? i did tweet for getting my first DGB and got a reply but i don't see any amount on my balance yet. I am exited just installing my wallet, imagine the excitement when getting some DGB there Tongue

wow 348 addresses with more than 1 btc investment.
36 with more than 1. i cant say this coin is well distributed but this coin sure does have a lot of real investors

is the number 1 wallet an exchange?

It could be. It could also be one of those "whale miners" who were mining millions a day before the Dec. 10 reward reduction.

On the other hand, anyone that big should know better than to keep that much in the same wallet, or is there really that much naïveté out there still?

If I only used one wallet, I'd be in the top 20, again, IF I only used one wallet.  Cheesy

Hey everyone, these are NOT bank accounts (and you wouldn't even have all your money in the same bank account - or bank for that matter - would you?)! The analogy is something more akin to a wallet you carry in your trousers, or a purse you carry on your shoulder. Would you put all your money in your wallet or purse?

Wake up and smell the coffee people! (That includes exchanges - if you're so stupid as to keep all your funds in one wallet . . . )

that guy is gonna be so effin rich if dgb reaches at least 1 usd

Looks like a private account too. The last transaction was done on Nov 28, 2014 at 9:24:41 PM. All inputs except for two sends of 1 DGB each!

Add: Looks like part of it at least was from mining. The inputs from DPBh9kG8zmveUDtPboMq5RFfR85tPSo9gU look like they were from a mining pool.

Lots can be found out with a little investigative work. ;-)

How about integrating a block explorer into the core wallet?

Since it keeps a fully downloaded blockchain it will always be up to date, and we wouldn't need to rely on the web version blockchain explorer.
This is a great idea. We will look into seeing how easy this would be. We are currently bring all DigiByte specific code into the the 0.10 Bitcoin codebase. This will allow for the "headers first" approach to syncing. So when a new user download the DigiByte QT it will sync much faster with the chain by only downloading the block headers first.

We will be releasing an updated QT wallet before releasing the upcoming hardfork wallet.

Cool thanks for this! Looks like a nice spread across digibyte! I guess I have a few more then I thought Cheesy

Interesting... it's been asked for I don't know how many times.
Mine is spread all over due to mining many pools using different addresses.
Around top 50, I'm happy with that, for the amount of hashes and BTC I dedicated to the coin, it's a huge victory for me.
Someone's got nearly half a billion, yikes!  Shocked
Good for this person, it's the benefits of early adoption, to the victor goes the spoils.
I wonder if this is going to attract new players to the game.
Many take the rich list as a Top Scorers list, mostly bragging rights in cryptos tho...
All it is a compilation of the top holding addresses; not wallets so bragging rights are on paper only.

Like in MMORPG's big shots buy instant status... such as was our BTC10 friend a few days ago.
That was a DGB10,000,000+ buy that took a 2 days to fill.

Anyone tried out my "Most Secure, Least Hassle, Security Option"? Had problems installing Ubuntu? Problems booting from the DVD you burned? Have you read about changing the UEFI setup mentioned in this article and decided it's not worth the effort? Okay, maybe it's just a tad bit less secure, but an Ubuntu install inside a virtual machine is the next best thing to a standalone alongside Windows install, and I've updated the post to include that option (step 2a).

I've also written up a VirtualBox install and initial configuration HOWTO for anyone who's up to the challenge. ;-)

+1 that would be cool feature. Only if it does not need much resources.

My wallet is stuck at block 423911
and does not sync
I am running windows 8.1 and 8 weeks behind
Wallet is encrypted  but I cannot unlock
any help

Make sure you have the digibyte.conf file installed in the same directory as your wallet.dat file. Upon installing, the program will probably automatically force you to reindex. You can find the contents of the digibyte.conf file on the OP.
