I'm not sure what all the fuss is about here.

My account was one of the "Compromised" accounts on CryptoAve.

I received a notice that someone had tried to reset my password. Upon receiving this message, naturally, I freaked out and immediately tried to access my CryptoAve account.

I was still able to log in, my coins were safe. I changed my passwords for CryptoAve as well as my email to be safe.

CryptoAve shut down, I made a request to withdraw my coins and I have received my coins.

So, if my account was compromised and my coins were lost, why are they now safely in my wallets in cold storage?

This is a non issue.

Baritus had some personal coins stolen, which is nobody's business. In retrospect, he should have just kept his mouth shut and avoid all this. If he would have done this, then people would only be speculating on why so many coins would have been dumped on March 8th. He tried to be honest with everyone and ended up being accused of everything under the sun.

Sucks for him, sucks for CryptoAve.

The good news is, all this bad press is allowing me to pick up some really cheap DGC Wink

I'm not sure why 3 pages have gone by and no one has acknowledged this post.

MY ACCOUNT WAS ONE OF THE COMPROMISED ACCOUNTS AND I LOST NO COINS!

So what's the problem? Why is anyone even being questioned here? This is a NON ISSUE.

The only person with lost coins here is Baritus himself... and even if he chose to sell his own coins... that's his right. They are his to do with as he pleases.

Because thread is actually about:

Dev gets hacked with custom keylogger on his windows box.
Handwaves, no public address to verify 500k gone.
Exchange gets hacked but only 9 accounts, no way to verify.
Says bug somewhere in php libs.
No wait, gmail insecure.
No wait, others dumb enough to use windows, must be trojan against (only) those 9.
No wait, it's all the baddies attacking my php.
No wait, I said in irc there are NO bugs in my code.
Oh wait, if I can't find bug I'll give up and large holders can have code.

Maybe not issue for you...

BCX's dad gets a call that BCX's mom is giving birth.

He races to the hospital, and waits eagerly in the waiting room. Eventually the doctor comes out with an odd look on his face.

"What's wrong doctor? Is my baby ok? Is it a boy or a girl?"

The doctor looks up at him. "It's the damndest thing. Your baby is a miracle, sir," he says.

The doctor leads the man into a room, where the baby is laying soundly, cuddled up in a blanket.

"Your baby can float. It's amazing! Watch!" The doctor lifts the child up a couple inches from the bed, then drops it. Nothing happens.

"What are you doing?" says the man. "Let me get my child and leave!"

"No, no, no! You have to see this. It did it before!" He picks up the child again, but this time drops it onto the floor. The baby hits the ground with a solid thud.

Totally distraught, with tears in his eyes, the man pleads for the doctor to stop.

"No, no, no! He totally did it! You HAVE to see this. It's a miracle!" The doctor picks the child up off the ground, and throws it out the window. The baby falls several stories and explodes on a car!

"OH MY GOD! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?" screams the man.

"Don't worry about it. The baby was a still-born. Haha! You should have seen the look on your face!"

that baby, was BCX

I wonder just how many cheap litecoins BCX bought as a result of that self-created BTC-E panic. 51% attack my ass. It must have been thousands or tens of thousands. Still waiting... oh 2014. Damn. Same shit, different coin.

On another note: hottest topic on blockcained.com for several days now. Keep up the awesome job, BCX. I don't think Baritus minds at all.

BCX is like Del Griffith x 10 on nasty pills. He's likeone of those stupid dolls that you have to pull the cord for and it says a whole heap of stupid sayings but in his case preprogammed self serving nonsense to further his bullshit agenda. Noone pulls the cord he pulls it himself. BLAH!, BLAH!, BLAH!, BLAH! Just shutup already!!

But dev said in irc y'day, "if I can't fix bug then I'll turn code over to largest holders.  They can do what they want with it" (no exact but close enough).

Whats that mean?

(now fanbois brush off "oh no retard he just meant worst case, will never happen"
lol no, escape hatch? + mystery keylogger + ...)

Deeper...

I think it's obvious there was no theft.

Took his $30,000 and is walking away.

~BCX~

Well that's quite a bold prediction. Lets just wait and see how it turns out.

Why do you care anyway ?

BCX cares because this is how he makes money. He is not into muckraking but FUD spreading. Some of you may still remember that lots of people lost thousands of litecoins when he threatened to 51% Litecoin in 2012 and claimed he was behind the DDOS attacks of certain exchanges or pools. He labelled this "testing" of coins, supposedly doing the developer "a favor" (all BS of course). Nevertheless, FUD spread on the trollbox and while LTC was still young and inexpensive (maybe 3 cents) people weren't sure if they would lose their entire stash or feared it would become worthless. Everyone panicked and sold at market value, never getting the chance to buy back their coins for what they sold them for. I think the bottom was 0.003 BTC back then.

Consider yourself WARNED not to throw away your coins just the same. It's a scheme.

Your desperation is showing.

You know the dump is coming LOL

Well buddy, it might just be your plan fails miserably this time. People will hold onto their coins. Oh, did I say thanks for all the free publicity yet? THANKS!

I especially love the part where said an employee physically placed a key logger on his unlocked Windows machine.

Had to be at his house since there is no CryptoAve  or Digitalcoin office LOL

His wife robbed him LOL

~BCX~

Noone said that, someone said that COULD have happened. but once again you changed peoples words. seems the only thing you are good for is editing other peoples conversation and speculating.

but on the brighter side of life, lets enjoy a nice joke.

How do you castrate someone like BCX?

Kick his dad in the chin while BCX is sucking him off.

Actually Baritus said that in his reddit post.

and we have the same dad!

~BCX~

Whats the hardest thing about watching BCX die in a fiery car crash?

I am hesitant to post in such an ill-tempered thread, but the conversation linked above is, simply put, terrifying!
If there really is a trojan out in the wild capable of doing the stuff Baritus wrote, the implications are catastrophic.
Speaking as a code-blind person, would it be wrong to assume that one or all of the exchanges (I think there's eleven?) could be literally sitting on a time bomb right now?

through some PHP bug(I'm guessing) or some trojan that's going around, some hacker was able to reset password on c ave
for a few users
not sure how it's possible since I already looked at all my code and it doesn't allow for it ever
and the other odd things is, they were able to get the verification email codes
from the user's email accounts
which I am not sure of how they did it either
good news is, I had detection kick in that locked out those accounts
so I still have everyone's funds
but the bad news is, someone has a trojan embedded in a lot of crypto community or some unknown bug in PHP makes it completely insecure

No worries, just misdirection to hide real issue.

Only way you get viruses or keyloggers is ignorance by using windows.  Very little chance if you use secure operating system, not swiss cheese like ms software.

So don't be dumb and lazy...protect your coins!

Actually I take it back, you're not a "Retard" you're whats known as a fair-weather investor. When other people are making you money and things are going great, you love whatever you are involved in. However as soon as one thing goes wrong, one hiccup in the overall plan, you jump on the "get our pitchforks and kill that fucker" bandwagon. Instead of holding on for the long term (which by the way is going to be much better than you all think) you would rather jump ship because the waiter got your order wrong. I am glad you are leaving and frankly I hope this loss costs you so much money that you have to leave the crypto world all together, cause I (along with so many other people) am tired of you and all the other people like you. The bullshit you cause in the community (IRC and posts on here) is not worth the absoloutley nothing you contribute to helping the community along.

So farewell Mr. Fair-Weather Investor. Good luck at your job, or whatever it is you do for the next 40 years till you can barely afford to retire!

@inthemoney25

Nice try at derailing the thread but,

Can you explain why Baritus won't post the public addresses so we can verify his theft fairy tale?

~BCX~

He already addressed it, you choose to ignore it.

No he did not address, he simply said the wallet contained a lot of addresses.

Like cut and paste is a difficult operation.

I can track 1 or 100 addresses just the same.

This is a very lame excuse on his part.

~BCX~

A lame excuse kinda like the one you made stating (and i quote)

Quote

I don't have to prove anything, Baritus is the one that has made the blatantly bogus claims.

~BCX~

when someone asked you to provide proof?  OH YEA, you know all about excuses dont you

Derailing a thread that was an attempt at derailing whats really going on here? You are trying to slander/destroy baritus's name. Whats the matter, did he steal your girlfriend? Fuck your mom? I DEMAND AWNSERS! WHAT KIND OF TOILET PAPER DOES BARITUS USE! I NEED TO KNOW!!!!!
