I see the number in your google docs spreadsheet keeps going up Matthew. If you're still taking bets, I would like to increase mine to 500BTC.

Accepted.

If you're still accepting bets (which would be insane!), I'll increase mine to 238.8 BTC.

I'd like to up my bet from 500 to 1k Matthew.  I saw betting was closed yesterday and it seems you've allowed new bets since then.  Please let me know.

Thanks.

Declined.

Are you now going to default, thereby "teaching" us to not trust anyone?

Matthew will be listed as a scammer and basically fucked from doing business with anyone in the bitcoin community should he fail to pay.

What is it about your psyche that makes you want to adopt highly controversial suspected criminals and defend their actions, even to the point of risking a not insignificant sum of money in defending them?

I ordered back issues of the magazine several weeks ago, where are they?

Were we supposed to be sequential in our numbering?

Is this just a desperate Atlas-like ploy for attention given that Phin's question thread had gone past 128 pages, and you feel like less of man when his is so much bigger than yours?

Do you intend to win the bet on a technicality?

Depending on which technicality? We have Theymos/Maged betting against him.

I dreamt pirate paid back everyone.   Shocked

This is why I stopped paying attention to bitcoin last year, takes over my attention span.

you are taking a big risk fully trusting someone based off ID and social networks.

And with great risk comes great rewards.

You are right of course, but I chose my path. I think you're absolutely right and I appreciate your advice though.
If you believe he is right then why do you claim that he is "not anonymous" in the answer I was entitled to? Having a fake ID is in essence equal to being anonymous, in fact the only point of having a fake ID is to be anonymous. If you believe that doing "any business with anonymous people is downright ridiculous" and all it takes to convince you is a fake facebook profile and some obscure ID i'm really questioning your point. I mean it's basically the same thing?

Funny thing is, unless you're colluding with pirate, you've made it harder for him to repay even if he wanted to. There never were 500 000 BTC, so the only way he can get out of it in a way that would let you win is to fear all the real creditors into selling their accounts at a very low price. By letting people hedge you have made that more expensive.
Selling an account at lower price to someone else other than pirate40 doesn't lower the amount he has to pay.
