I believe Bitcoin has a future in long term. It proved itself in the past years and it is getting widely popular. It just has a transaction fee problem atm.

What about the altcoins? Who does use them for real? Will people use them in the future for real purpose?

I only have a hope for ethereum and litecoin, but not for the rest. I am not even sure for eth and ltc.

If bitcoin solves the reansaction fee and time problem, I doubt eth and ltc even have a future.
Anything could be possible as time passes by. But right now, we cannot evenly say, judge or under estimate the capability of altcoins price to improve that will suit for a long term purpose. All we can do now is observe happenings in cryptocurrency and see if there are sudden changes that might change our decision of investing not just in bitcoin but also in altcoin.

Yes , I do believe altcoins will have a bright future, but only some of them, most of them will die.
As  we can see more and more big companies join in researching blockchain tech, we can use this tech to solve a lot of problems in real life.

So much naysay. Why you here if that's how you feel ? Human fear is what prevents greatness. Altcoins are so new and so is Bitcoin. You can't say what will or won't happen. Cryptocurrency is here to stay and things will get better and there will be better use for your coins. Just be patient. It will happen it's just a matter of time.

In my opinion 99% of nowadays Startups will disagree in 1-2 years maximum.
We have just on Steve Jobs or one Apple. To hard to grow steady from idea to corporation. 99% of coins will not let us to earn nice profit based on technolodgy implementation

Some of altcoins really have future, it is all about community and acceptance.
Ethereum shows us how altcoins can create lot of new businesses and projects. who knows?
It does really have future and yes it depends on community acceptance just like on ETH which it already have developments and it gradually been accepted and potential projects which is related in that platform which means it progresses and it caught communities attention thats why value do go up because theres a demand its simple as that simple eeconomic subject.

I don't think that's a good thing since when you are in investment, you should be optimistic. You have sought how powerful does altcoins are specially the ethereum. Although it wasn't yet seems enough, still it has a huge potential.

I even think in the future let's say 50 years from now Bitcoin gets replaced by another coin that offers lower fees and very fast transactions. And some uses of these altcoins are different like Siacoin. I also think maybe premined coins like NEM works better than mined coins.

Well, that's very possible friend. But since that is 50 years from now, there are more innovation already and during that time bitcoin will have a very higher value since it is already antique and owning it something lie a prestige or a status.

Wait what? I was with you on faster transactions and lower fees, but how can a PREMINE ever be a positive thing to a coin? The users will constantly experience dumping from the originators.

A premine would need extremely thorough justification. Like a coin holding the premined coins with fiat collateral in order to provide sufficient liquidity for their service. Only one coin does that, the rest all use premines as a quick cash grab.

I was having the same though like you have before till of recent when I started to understand that all the coin are out for a purpose and because of this all the coins are very important and even for new one to come in future will be useful. Bitcoin has face a lot of challenges and still facing a lot of challenge especially the hard fork issue. All other crytocurrency have there limitations but we should focus on its benefits.

IMHO there was a good likeness mentioned earlier.
IBM, HP, etc. were giants and it was hard to imagine them being dethroned. Is there anyone who's getting excited about those today?
Micropuke was early in the game and look where they are today. IMHO Linux is by far a better OS but it's difficult getting traction. Linux is not going away though, it's still there fighting the good fight.
Apple was down for the count, but look where they are today.

IMHO the future of Alt-coin is still very much undecided. Bitcoin can be dethroned or it can rein supreme, either one is possible. However, even if BTC comes out on top, I doubt Alt-coin will go away anytime soon. A lot of Alt-coin will die over time though, that much is clear. Which ones will be along for the long haul? I'm still trying to figure this out myself...

We have not yet seen government clamp down on cryptos in any real way thus far. Knowing how gov't love to control things, I'm thinking anonymity will be very important to the surviving Alt-coins.

People underestimate many good altcoins, and tend to call them names.. This is dangerously wrong because we are talking about software which can become obsolete over time. Trends are changing everything becoming more complex.
Also we can see slowly banks and corporartions beginig to involve with their visions how blockchain cab be used "on better way"..

Altcoins and bitcoin altogether make the cryptocurrency network. So each serving as an competitor to each other helps in making an additional growth rather than declining in value. So altcoins will serve as a secondary solutions for the bitcoin usage for a long.

Yes , this is the truth that the future of cryptocurrencies are more better than anything other have , but here I am not telling that every coins has good future because the coins are better or not and how much ther future are better will be decided by the technology used by them , so here to tell cryptocurrency is roaring a good sound in my ears .
Here Bitcoin is only the currency which has the strength to handle the transaction perfectly , since Thier are another coins which are based upon the technology of the Bitcoin blockchain but still they have not much success like Bitcoin , so all thing will also depend upon the team of the coin .

As you say bitcoin more has a great chance to have a future than altcoin, altcoin has a future or not it depends on what altcoin has and the interest of investors and users on the altcoin, for now I think eth has a future or it can last longer than other altcoin
yes bitcoin Does have a better future, But Ethereum also has a good rate and a good future.
I really love investing with ETH and Bitcoin.

Personally, bitcoin is for long term holding and my eth and ltc is for short term holding like a year maybe. I'm still weighing these altcoins although its a good player in the market. We'll never know how far this altcoin would go so better observe what's next for these.
