I still believe in ico. but it does have to be more detailed in that we do a complete check so that fraud does not occur which ultimately hurts. the thing that I often ask about sales transparency is because it's very important to see if this fraudulent project or not. their team is fake or not, etc. so that we are truly confident in investing with confidence

I completely agree. The amount of coins out there is insane. It's quite sad to think how many people are lured and scammed into buying these so called "new and innovative" projects. I do hope more people start being more aware of how and what crypto scams look like.
Once people start learning more about how these scams work the healthier crypto will be. So here is a bump for this thread. Let's all help increase awareness.
Already in 2018, we swore at the organizers of the ICO. Everyone was looking for a way out of this situation, offered to create some projects that will help protect against scam. But in the end we were able to endure to IEO. At the moment, it is a very promising tool in the field of blockchain. And any ICO projects will be very difficult to keep out in this market.
Nowadays ICO is disappear and change by IEO , it's better chance to get some profit on IEO instead of ICO cause usually when IEO ends token gonna list immediately on the exchange and people get fomo!
Usually the price can go up 2-3 times from IEO price, even more if on big exchange like binance!
Easy money for lucky participants.
Different case with ICO, when it list on market it's hard to get good price on the first day, it takes time to get good price
And it's still depends to the good or bad the project too.

ICOs should just get funded from VCs and do an airdrop to community.
Most ico can be done open source on github for free.. the greed in creating all of these project is stifling growth. A lot of innovation come from free open source project from passionate developers.

We all want to completely avoid meeting with fraudsters. But at the same time we want to earn income and achieve success. Therefore, we must accept - to risk in any case, we need. You just need to carefully and responsibly choose the appropriate project to minimize the risks.
If we just stop supporting them as an activity, then one of the main ways to improve cryptocurrency may die. This should not be allowed. Therefore, we must conduct our research and support good and promising ICO projects.

A lot of investors had been disappointed with he ICOs last year. That is why some ptojects find it hard to gather funds in their ICO, due to investors being skeptical on investing in ICOs.
I have not invested in ICO since 2018 because I do not see any benefit in it. Everything is just a minus or just empty. As for me, it is better to choose exchanges for trading than ICO.
A lot of opportunities to make money and if you invest in ICO soon, the risk may be very high because almost all projects in 2018 are scam and very few people can make a profit from it. I think it's time for the market to change and come up with better solutions to consider new pennies in the future. I am personally starting to participate in IEO projects because this can be a great opportunity to change my life.

ICO has long ceased to make money. The only thing you can now make it on projects that sell on the exchanges themselves, but there is also need to have time to sell
Back in 2016-2017 is when the crypto community witness some of the great ico's happening in this space, and i know most of them where some how genuine with dedicated teams behind them, now honestly same cannot be said with what we have today in the market, majority of ico's now ended up scamming investors, the confidence to invest is no longer there, but there are still few good one's only the bad one's now over shadow them.
I don't agree with you, in my opinion there are still quality and decent ICOs for many people to follow. But indeed at this time there are many ICOs that are scam and there must be regulations that make unclear ICOs unable to surface.
Agree, but we should be careful in choosing the ICO quality, see road map, team and how planning ahead that project. Scammers in the world of ICO is a problem for investors who are careless.

Nothing has changed in the ICO sector, except for the fact that the exchanges have started to take much more money. This is clearly not good, so I think that here it is necessary to understand that there are big problems for investors and for the market as a whole.
Its really unfair to label all ICOs a scam, there are still a lot of good upcoming projects out there you just have to do your research. Its just like real life, most startups fail but the ones that succeed give you an enormous return on investment.
Maybe yes but the percentage is really lower than the possibilities, there's a lot of scam project and we need to work with our investment ico's are there to work and find investors trust providing possible good outcome, it's investors position where to put there money.
It is sad to accept but most of the ICOs are just scam and there are just few ICOs that are legit and committed in the long run. Most of them are just here to scam people and steal people's money. Investors should wake up and realize that it is better to do trading rather than trying to catch some ICOs and hoping for a jackpot.

Agreed. ICO is a source of fund in market cap but there are lots potential project that can be more of good use even though they havent made any public sales in terms of ICO. It actually depends on how the project will be seen and displayed potential working product or can be applied to a lots of use case. Look some project without any ICO but still they have products. Owners of these kind of projects uses the their own money to fund their tech so you can see much seriousness with these kind of people.
For me, you can still invest on some ICO's but this time you need to be more picky on ICO's because most of the time price will fall when enter in exchange even there's a good team behind it and do not exit as a scam.
Not all the ICOs are bad. Even now, there are a few good projects ongoing. But due to the influx (or flood) of scammers, you need to be extra-vigilant. I'd say go only for those ICOs, where the promoters are well known people.
yep! you are right.indeed a lot of ICO are bad, but there are many good ICO. so don't say all ICO is bad, we just need to work hard to find it. i have suffered losses several times at the ICO, but some other ICO can return my money and even make a profit.
this is crypto risk, profit and loss are always side by side.
