I think that in addition to wallets, you need to be safe with new exchanges and any applications that are associated with cryptocurrencies, because they can serve as a backdoor to infect your device and steal your private key and other information. Now there are some bounty programs in which you need to install the application on your device, but you need to be careful with them and not install on the device on which you have wallets and there is valuable information.

The reason why i don't like new wallets
1. They always have low users which means they have nothing new to offer, even if new users try them out, once they don't see any thing new they bounce back to their old wallet, repetitive at work

2. Many new wallets on playstore can't be trusted, they have different set of aims, some have access to your private keys but they will fool users thinking you are the only one in control of the private keys and some don't  give out private keys to users, they work as online wallet

I never use new wallets coming from Playstore and I recommend users not to use, there are so many of them, we should only trust wallets that have a good reputation and proven to be safe and always have an update.

I only use a ledger wallet and MyCrypto desktop wallet, I've been using these two for the last two years, and I'm ok with it I have 5 wallets for specific usage, there are a lot of new wallets coming in, I prefer to wait for several months and read reviews on how good these wallets are before I use it.
Not all wallets come from Playstore arent safe ones yet ive been using up Electrum app and Imtoken wallets which i can say that  they are pretty working as it should and safe.
Ive been using it for how many years and i didnt experience any problems but somehow these wallets been known and its important to look for reviews nor community feedbacks before tending to use a certain app or any sources on the net because risk on losing funds is higher if you dont do your own homework.Stick to the most preferable ones
then you would be safe but just to add that the level of safety would add up if you user do knows how to handle out your funds.Just be sensible.
Do you know that playstore have fake electrum apps as well? scammers are building fake apps or copycat of other well known wallets to steal users fund, i am a bit dissapointed with google playstore for not getting rid of fake apps on playstore, if anyone wants to download electrum apps its more safer to go through their official website or link

I have a friend that got hacked by storing some of his asset on a new wallet that can be downloaded on playstore. There are many trusted wallet out there so why take a risk on new wallets.

I agree with this statement. But what about storage of coins in exchanges that too the exchanges dont ask for kyc in the first instance. Can we believe those exchanges?
Its not advisable to store your coins in exchanges even how reputed the exchanges is, unless you're going to trade your coins and will not store it.

There are many existing trusted wallet nowadays so why choose the new ones without assurance if your coins are safe with this wallet.

Dont risk your funds to new wallet, its better to be safe than sorry.

Hold your funds on exchanges and on MEW wallets, you do not need anything more. Coins can be stored on various exchanges and erc-20 based tokens can be stored on myetherwallets. If you want to get totally secured, buy yourself a ledger wallet.
Some reputable exchanges will help the user to feel comfortable when his strategy is holding for short term investment or they have an ability to trade. Ladger wallet is an useful wallet for those who choose long term strategy.

Yeah, I don't believe new platform who offee to store my cryptocurrency. The risk that will be face by me will be much and I won't take it. Although they give an interesting offer or even they give a bonus and usually that's what they do before deceiving them.

Never, never try to store your funds or coins in the new wallet which is came from the playstore apps it is too risky.
I would rather to keep it at the reputable exchange just like Kucoin, Binance, and other that are listed on top at the coinmarketcap.
But never try to keep at the exchange which is newly here in this field of business. And never join at the wallet asking for private key
to import it to their platform.

Keeping funds on an exchange wallet also depends on the credibility of the exchange. Some exchanges like Binance and Kucoin have good reputation when it comes to security. New exchanges like Bitrue also secured each user's wallet with a 1 million dollar fund just in case assets are lost via any means. With such exchanges, a trader can keep funds there. However, after trading, it is always good to withdraw the funds to their original wallets where the user have full access and control over the private keys, seed phrase and other essential login details of the wallet.

I remain a conservative in this matter. It’s difficult for me to pass onto something new and little-known, in this case, a new wallet. Especially when it comes to my finances. I try to take care of their safety and not take risky steps that can lead to irreparable errors.

Understand that hot wallets are not wallets.

When you call something as wallet then you hold your private key so no need to worry about the wallet name,if there is anything wrong on the wallet you can import your wallet into other wallets.

It depends.
For example I wouldn´t have any problem to use a wallet that works with Ledger Nano or Trezor hardware wallet. Even I didn´t use them before. Because there is no way that someone will see your private key.
But if you use some wallet where you put your private key, it is highly unsecure, even the wallet is legit, still you can have in your computer malwares.  Smiley

There are different types of wallet on google play store and most of them are copycats, there are also some wallets that looks suspicious to me because they are not from original source, using popular wallets is the solution, we have trust wallet, jaxx wallet, coinomi wallet, myether wallet etc

How hard can it be to create a wallet that steals customers funds? Playstore and a little advertisement and you find yourself a bag of newcommers willing to try the wallet out...
I am always very suspicious about wallets, so i tend do kwwp working with the ones I trust and use for a long time... wallets are supposed to safeguard your money, so it is a very serious thing and one should do proper research befores sending any funds...

If I look at Playstore or Appstore, I think there are currently many naughty developers who make new wallets for evil purposes, namely stealing the assets of their users and we must be vigilant for this, especially if there are wallets offering rewards when using their wallets, never once Committing a stupid act by directly importing a private key that has a large enough value to the wallet, but if you want to try it, create a new wallet because this is a precaution so that we don't become victims.
