How many times do I have to say it. Making things is something that is a part of this universe. God is outside of this universe. He applied making things to this universe when He made it. This has nothing to do with what He is. He is outside. He always existed. He wasn't made.
And if your God existed outside of this universe, then that implies that there are many more Gods which exist in other universe's.
So how do you know your God is the right God?

The fact that God exists outside of this universe doesn't imply that there is even one more universe. Things outside of the universe are different than they are within. It may be that what is out there is so different from the "universe" concept, that it isn't universe at all.
