Let be real. How many of you guys actually read the whitepaper? I read whitepaper sometimes, but reading multiple of them can be a burden and a headache. Do you guys got any tips on getting through whitepaper a little faster. It killing a lot of time. Thank.

Me also not really reading the white paper, If I already saw the white paper and complete documents of that Bounty then I prefer to go over the participation, If I saw that many participate in that ICO then I am thinking that is legit and not scam at all.

i am always participating ico projects so i need to read whitepapers.this is one of the best reason for us participants not to victimized by scammer icos..and besides its an obligation of every users who want to invest or engaged to the said projects

.
To be honest, I read white paper in rare cases. as a rule they are similar and there is a lot of chatter.

Then i guess dont complain if time come of scamming, because more than half of every ico today are scammers.so atleast i warned you

IMHO it's useless to read all wp. The only reason if you are making review for this project. In other cases just watch on it and spend no more than 10 minutes for all WP. Better spend time to check team

I don't think reading whitepaper should be ignored by any serious and savvy investor. Whitepaper gives you an insight into where and what you are putting your hard earned money into. I don't joke with that at all for where my treasure is there my heart will be. But there are many projects out there I don't even waste my time considering them nor reading their whitepaper based on first impression usually from their website, team and some other publicly available information.

I actually do. Every single time. If I do not read the whitepaper, then I am not interested in the project. Trust me, the majority of whitepapers do not need to be read through. Read the introduction and you can almost immediately tell if it is good quality. Proceed to the key summaries and you know even better if the project is going to waste your time:
Language is not so important (English I guess) but stay away from WPs that:

1. They do not tell you anything except their idea is revolutionary.
2. The token does nothing.
3. They use data you can find on Google top 3.

Lol. i can relate to you mate. With hundreds of ICOs out there it is near to impossible that you will read all their white paper. Just takes a lot of time. But if you are quite interested in a certain project you have to allocate some of your precious time to read that white paper. It is your investment and one way of protecting that is to make sure that the ICO you are investing in is legitimate.

Weirdly enough, but I enjoy reading whitepapers if I want to invest. I look at projects the same as any other work out there, you have to do your job and research if you want to success. Obviously, understanding the road map or reading whitepaper itself won't protect you from ICO scam, but it helped me to avoid some which were obvious scams "especially when they mention this is risk-free investment" or something like that  Grin

I would say that it is ESSENTIAL to read carefully the Whitepaper if you are really thinking of investing your money, but not just having some fun, reading those information for pleasure.
As far as it is your money, YOU are responsible for its manipulations and operations, so it has to be YOUR interest to research the project with all the possible documents, which may give you a clear vision of how it works.

you should really know that in which project you are going to put your money.. for a wise investment decision you should read the technical portion of the whitepaper that how they are going to implement their plan and how it will work, is it even have real life usage or not..

I think it's safe to assume that most people don't read the whitepaper for the "safe" coins, like top 10, etc. Grin

actually majority of people don't give a shit about any of the whitepapers anymore because their goals are not to understand and participate in a new technology and be a part of a decentralized network. instead their goals are to make a lot of money out of some shitcoins that are rising (getting pumped) and reading whitepapers is a waste of time when that is your goal.

if half of them change their mind and start looking at whitepapers, the code, and generally things that matter i assure you that the top 100 coins will be rearranged by a lot and be replaced by many other coins.

I believe that before investing in ICO earned money, you need to read the white paper, the road map, the team, and look at the website. Can not you give your money on the street to a passerby in the hope that you will get more? Therefore, investing in ICO, you risk your coins and calculate the risks, show interest in the project.

It depends on the quality of the ICO website itself and how much information was taken out there from the white paper. Often, information is not enough

In the technical documentation you can understand the essence and go of the project. And how much detailed the project is. If this is neglected, it's easy to run into scammers or a bad project

If you want to play gamble you dont have to read anything. You should see its our work and we take serious it
That is applicable for investors who dont mind to risk their money in any ICOs that they think will likely to succeed in the future without getting an idea in the content of the white paper and the team behind it. Although I rarely read the white paper of the ICO im interested in, I make sure atleast I had gather enough knowledge on their project so I can decide wether to invest or not.

If you want to invest in any project, especially earn profit, you need to read the whitepaper. The whitepaper is the document which contains (almost) everything you need to know and everything about the project. So if you want to analyze a project, whitepaper should be the first one you need to read. By the way, if you have read a lot of whitepaper, there will be some parts of them you can just ignore them, it doesn't contain information about the project.
