I always look at whitepapers at least briefly, otherwise you can not understand the full concept of a project. I would not invest in something I do not understand.

in ICO project there is usually whitepaper and lightpaper. maybe if you think whitepaper has a lot of pages and makes you a headache to read it, you can try reading the lightpaper or you can see the video on their channel

I almost never read the WP because they can write anything there. When choosing an ICO, I look at the manager who leads the project. If this is an unknown newbee, then I do not participate in such cases.

certainly, because in the whitepaper there is important information in a project because there has been described how the project runs and to reach on an ico that will move.

Whitepaper is not a guaranty.
It's telling you what is the strategy of the team.
It's not because it's written that they will build it.
So yes you can read it for understanding the point of the project, but don't read it expecting that it will be delivered for sure.

Usually I read the summary of the whitepaper if they provide inside the wp itself. You will have to check the vision and mission as well as they will show their the team motives. Lastly, go check the token they are offering. The supply, bonuses and prices.
If you have time you can certainly read the whitepaper because that is where everything is written.
We should not be investing blindly, this is a risky market and therefore we have to act smart all the time, there is a big chance our money
will multiplied more than we expected but we have to device method to come up profitable in the end.

I agree that it takes a lot of time, but it is very important.
Because of the scamp projects, it is usually not available or has an unclear whitepaper .
So reading whitepaper is essential to make any good investment.
Besides  whitepape can tell us that if the ico is backed by real company or not?
Have working product or not? Is the ecosystem of the product large? v.v

whitepaper is the most important part after understanding the profile of the team
whitepaper contains goals, roadmaps and business models of a project
very stupid if we invest in a project that we ourselves do not know the purpose of the project

This is the main problem.
Putting your money into an ICO without even reading a WhitePaper, I do not even tell about Terms and conditions and some kind of due diligence, is not investing but just a gambling.
That is why many bad and fake ICOs get funded just because they prepare a couple of selling and promising infographics... But nothing behind...

I often read most of the white paper when I'm looking for a bounty campaign. Reading white paper because it will provide information on the legality of any start up or bounty campaign. The white paper must include the the vision of the project, the technology, problem that the project is trying to solve and the track record of the team. But there is also a possibility that a company might have a legit-looking white paper might turn out to be a scam.

I read the whitepaper always if I want to join in their ICO so that I will know where I can invest money and to avoid scam ICO. And I think if you want to invest in a project then doing research about their whitepaper is must to all investors.

The white paper is KEY to everything. You would have to be insane to send a single sat to any project without reading the WP!

I only read whitepapers of the projects I like the most and those that I'm going to invest in. Usually, you don't have to read them all. Often, I see right from the start that the project is bad or come to this conclusion by checking their website

If you really want to invest in that ICO you should read the whitepaper. Its important. Teir you would see the information the projects of that particular ICO. It shows their the full details of the ICO that you are participating in. Well if not them you still can read it but not fully read. Just scan the details to know if it is good or not..

I read the whitepaper to get a clear understanding of the project to avoid mistakes in investing my money on the project in the future.
The fact is that I do not always trust the technical documentation that is presented for the company's ico. Apparently, many developers of the project can distort data to seem more convincing as its project ..
