What you are doing is different most of the time sports betting is online gambling. What he meant is most of the gambers who visit casino's to do gambling are made to be felt ashamed by the society he lives because those people feel gambling is bad.

Go somewhere else or live somewhere else where people are open about gambling if you really want to be happy and you cannot sacrifice your love to gamble. There are countries which does not restrict their people to gamble and I guess they are very fair with their judgement.
Some countries declared gambling as illegal so the community will think you are doing something that is against the law and therefore that is something you should be ashamed of.

You think it is so easy to shift to another place and that to for gambling.
Who is the law or religion who decides what humans are allowed do and what they are not like gambling is eventually hurting others physically or mentality in any way. It id our money our profit ,our loss

You hurt yourself if you lose unless you are doing it for fun. For me personally, I do it for fun therefore even when I lose I just feel nothing about it. I do gambling with my own money and gambling never interrupt my responsibility towards the family. Nevertheless, I keep hiding my gambling habit from my family members. I would be very embarrassed if they knew it. Not solely because of the money, but, in my culture, gambling will always be a shameful thing to do under any circumstances.

That's the better thing to do to avoid problem within the family, too bad there are people who believe that gambling is really that bad. Actually, old people think that way but we who are living in the new world are always thinking this is just part of the entertainment.
I hope we can educate them and not that they will educate us letting us follow on the culture without real basis why gambling is bad.

In my culture and religion it is somewhat allowed so I dont feel shameful but if everything you own is from money you win in the casino then it might be viewed as shameful or bad...

The only thing you can forget about it if you decided to have and immunity over those shameful gossiping. Maybe by then i will not care if ever I play gambling or not lol.

I do know the feeling and the idea about it though I'm not on your shoe. And even we'll change the situation and not with gambler thing still it's hard to be on that situation. And I hate those murmuring by your neighbors and when you gamble for a certain day, it's like you are the headlines on the newspaper of your place.

Since you are in a community where gambling is an issue when you play it, I recommend you do not play gambling. It will be shameful if they caught you and mock you in front of many or if not you are jailed because of that.

I'm pretty sure gambling is not the only entertaining activities in this world, if it's prohibited then just obey the rules in your country. For us who are living in a democratic country and gambling is not considered as illegal or a sin, we will continue to enjoy the entertainment gambling is giving us, and of course we are also rooting to win a decent amount of money.

Being a gambling addict doesn't mean you will be a bad guy, bad guys do something that is not ethical and a dangerous man in the society. Being a gambler will make you a bad guy, if you are not following the law of the country or town that you live in.

but if you live gambling is considered a bad thing, and people around looking at gambling is a bad thing, normally you would be embarrassed to continue to gamble. Doing so distorted and unusual is a shame I think. Because even if you do not commit a crime or dangerous thing, if people see you do something deviant, they will look at you ugly.

Bad things would really happen when you let gambling addiction would control your mind and actions because when you already reached on this state you will surely think off on the bad things specially if you dont have already the money to play on. Dirty plans and aims would really comes next.

There is no definition in playing the right way or the wrong way, it's still the same, the game just changes. If you think about it, it's not going to change, it's the game itself. What makes gambling bad is that people use money that they do not own, that's really bad. If they use gambling as an excuse for being bankrupt or something, that's bad. Those are some ways that makes gambling bad. You are going to be ashamed with yourself.
