I just want to make it clear that this is all about comparison. If you maintaining a spreadsheet, then you can compare many things and reveal to you which one is the best. It's about data.

For example, you can compare and see the result of every strategy you did on every bet and this will help you to maximize your profit by using the best strategy.
There are people who don't maintain a spreadsheet because they don't really know the benefit of doing this or just don't know what to compare.

For sports bettor, this is a good example posted by.

I have a spreadsheet with all the details that I use to track my gambling.
Everything is mentioned in the file: bookmaker, which sport, selection, bet type, stake, odds, ...,

Usually, people do spreadsheet in this particular type of game, for me as a gambler, I never have a spreadsheet of other type of game. Smiley
Anyway, that's still up to the specific gambler since all posted here are just personal opinions.

I don't keep any kind of evidence. I'm not professional gambler, I gamble for fun and entertainment so I.think I don't need that.
I know that some players have spreadsheets and similar to keep track of their gambling which is actually good but it's not necessary in every case.
Since I gamble for fun I only spend the leftovers after all my expenses are covered so I can manage that even without evidence.

I am not good in gambling but I have a spredsheet of my record, not necessarily that you have to be a professional gambler in order to start maintaining a spreadsheet, you can do it for yourself as an experiment to know you real status in gambling, this is most applicable in skilled based games like sportbetting.
Gamblers still might have notes in spreadsheets to find out their expenses when betting but I'm here as a pleasure don't need to do that but that's in me but it doesn't matter if you have notes even if it's just for fun but will be better so you know it .

But every bet we have to be able to count means winning and losing we have to admit as long as we don't interfere with money for other purposes because it's more important.

You don't necessary call it as expenses as usually, a gambler who maintain a spreadsheet like to see his performance, if he is profitable or not.
In the spreadsheet, you can put all the necessary information you like to see, there are just examples,.. you can put the date, particular game or even, result, and the amount of bet, that simple information could already provide you a good analysis report, like the percentage thing so you can analyze the whole picture easily.

I never keep track of my individual bets for the long term, but for the last 12 years I have strictly followed a maximum threshold on the amount being gambled every month. I never cross this threshold, even if I get good returns from any of my bets. And trust me, this has helped me enormously over the years. Saved me from heartburn and financial ruin.
Don't you consider one for your records? This will definitely help you track you gambling records either for your winnings or your lose. Setting a threshold for your gambling records is good but having the data will help fill your lapses. During my first time in gambling I used to gamble without records until when I ran into a great lose which I couldn't get help immediate. From that day till date, I always make my records straight and available when needed.

At first I thought it was a good idea to track it, but then I understood, the more you track, the more you will realize how much you lost and the more you wanna play to recover those losses. Because our human mind is full of unlimited greed and hence showing it anything will just fuel the desire to gamble more! So I stopped tracking and just gamble whenever I feel like. No track of wins or losses!

It's a good point Iamsheikhadil, and trying to recover loses will make you risk more, when you risk more
you can lose again, more chances for that. One of the reasons I don't keep track of my wins and loses.
I try to play and have fun, if I am good it's nice, I never go all in I try to play longer and make some little
profit.
I am thinking to try to deposit $10 and to try to make half a dollar or just a dollar every few days. Without
withdrawing, without much risking. Is it possible to do that for months and to make something with dice and
crash game mostly?

Don't think you can consistently win in gambling, the fact that you are talking about dice and crash games, these games are just based on pure luck, and you need to be lucky everyday in order to win, and with the amount you gamble, I'm sure you will be bored of doing it over and over.
Yes,  and no one know if he is going to win or Lose in gambling no one has any idea about it when the begin to gamble a people will have to use their skill for winning even if in Dice you can not depend on your luck but you all have to rely 50/50 on your luck. Better play games with different strategies and different ways of winning. The more you will play you will gain experience and skills.
This do only particular talks about strategy-based games where you can take advantage and able to learn something while you do play for long and also playing dice doesnt that have 50-50 chance of winning since it will depend on which multiplier youve set into unless if you do play with some pvp which do have 50-50 chance like coin toss or similar games. Poker and other card games are the ones that you can able to be mastered or simply means that you can take advantage if you have played this for a long time and know lots of strats. In talks towards keeping track then for sports it can be done but most of the time
this stuff wont really be that necessary because if you do make tracking that simply means that you do only aim for making money not entirely aiming for making some fun.

Wow! 12 years is a long distance. Do you play from time to time or are you seriously involved in gambling? As far as I know, the active part of the gambler's career does not last very long. For various reasons, people cannot maintain high gambling activity (the main reason is money of course).

I am tracking my Bets if i am not in good financial situation since i love to gamble at least once a week back then?

i monitored How much i have spent and how much i won,so if my losses are enough then time to stop for a week or so.

But if i am winning then o will continue trying my luck.

If gambling is for fun, then you might be able to set a limit on the money you will spend on gambling every month. But what if gambling is intended as a way to get money for some people ? I am very not sure they can do it.

Tracking the profits and losses in gambling is not something that is important to me because I never care how much money I spend there. Fun cant be measured by money, and as an effort to prevent financial and other damage, I only play when I have leftover money. Not specifically, but only at certain moments.
Good thing if you do able to treat up this way but not all would have the same mindset towards gambling that they should only play just for fun not for chasing up on making profits.

Tracking is just good when you do sports betting where you can able to make up some bankroll management if you do tend to make most out of your allocated bankroll to enjoy it even more longer.

It depends though because if you do apply this one for dice then you do just basically after on making money but for sports then its one of the techniques for you to enjoy and at the same time you do

lessen up the risk.

At first I try to record it, but as time passes by the more I lose or win the eager I add deposit amount in casino in online gambling. It is hard when you are able to win and then lose that you will really try hard to win back those loses even you think you're dedicated from the start not to over game or be addicted. Salute, to those who are able to be consistent on their plans on sticking to their plan or goals not to be addicted since it's really hard once you're playing.

Well it is very easy to keep track of your gambling activity by just keeping an eye to your balance.
If your balance is decreased you lose, if it is increased you win. Usually people lose so it is a matter of fact to understand how much money you lose.

I find excel spreadsheet very simple and easy to use for that. You can even add a few graphs to make it easier to track gains/losses on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.

People should be keeping a record in whatever way they find it simple. Idea should be that need to know how money they either won or loss in gambling and in future if they continue in this way will they be able to sustain as many become addictive in it and end up losing not just money but many other things as well.

I've never done this...
I'm not too focused on playing gambling, playing gambling with a small capital on a smartphone to fill free time is my habit, and I think tracking gambling results is not very important. if you are indeed unlucky and do not have the skills then you will still lose despite tracking your gambling results every day IMO.

Same as me, I do not track my gambling profit and losses. Gambling for me is also a kind of pass time. I do not take it seriously. If I think I already lose in too many rounds then I stop. If I win then I feel bless. But of course not all people are like us. I understand why they need to track theor gambling activities.

Some gamblers like to take the challenge when they are challenge and that happens especially when they lose money in gambling, they don't want to stop until they lose everything, and that's the kind of behavior that might make a person successful or will just fail in the end.

As they say, high risk if you succeed, you'll get high reward, but unfortunately, only few succeeds in gambling.
