I have no control over gambling time. I simply allocate no more than $100 to the game and play until I lose these funds. If my deposit goes up to $200 I quit and only come back to play a few days later. This approach gives me an emotional cool down.

I started using this rule after one big loss. It is the one that taught me to restrain my emotions and control my bankroll.
Damn , Respectable gambler.. Not too greedy and not addicted.

I'm starting to do the same manner mate allocating Specific amount and also having specific target of wins to decide when to stand the table.

If all gamblers has this attitude for sure this gambling section will be filled with positive comments more than negatives.

Giving advise is a positive comment, I think most of us here are responsible gambler, we just share our experience and we give advise because we want to help, so there's nothing wrong with that, and though its important that we learn from our mistakes and be a responsible gambler all the time, but we can't eliminate the reality that there are gamblers really who are weak in controlling their emotion.

This is a powerful trend. Betting plans is actually a good management plan and having a budget before betting would help limit breakdown after a loss.

I prefer it if what is lost is what one can afford to loose on a day to day base. Pretty cool its nice to have a plan and stick to it
And that includes your time, how long you should be staying whether your not yet out of funds or you've won a lot. There's no sense of enjoyment for others if the time will be the basis and limit.
But we have our different satisfaction and plans. So, if you plan to stay for long, you should determine how long you want to manage yourself gambling and what's your plan on it while having the budget with you.
At that time, it must be respected, it means how long you have to stay in the game during gambling and management is very important because in gambling you don't always feel like running out of money there, there are no limits if there is no management, therefore I think this pattern is a must. applied regularly so that we know that time always wastes big money in gambling but if we win maybe we can be happy but what is possible as long as we continue to win?

I want to lose or win, still, time is important because, for me, asset management in gambling must be properly disciplined so that it doesn't run out because of greed.
There are no limits if there's no management but in reality, the gambler is only taking chances and understands the position that he's in. It's one of the hardest positions and decisions ever because you didn't even come up with a plan from the start.
And having an amount of time being used is part of the plan, if you don't have such and if you're at a worse position, it will get more worse.

I always limit my time to play gambling, because that is my way to prevent gambling addiction. The thing is I have a friend who is addicted
to gambling and whose life is ruined, I don't want that to happen to me either. Because I know that the longer we gamble, the harder it is
for us to control ourselves. Because if I already play games on the PlayStation, it's hard to stop, because every time I lose, I'm always
curious to win. And it can happen in the world of gambling too, If I do not limit the time I play gambling there is the potential to become addicted.

Basically  no matter how long you play gambling on each session wont make you addicted to gambling if you can control yourself. I also have a friend who gamble almost every single day but he is not addicted as he can start and stop it anytime anywhere as he wish. Addiction is the time when you cant control yourself, you do not know when to start and when to stop. As long as you know it, you wont be addicted. The same applies for video games such as Playstation. I myself also gambling almost everyday because of some competition, I'm not addicted obviously as I have a limit for myself. Limit for both time and money.
The same goes for me, I can't say I'm an avid gambler, I might play a few games every once in a while, I'd say 2-3 rounds each day or stop when I lose my bets or start getting emotional over my losses. I do play on an almost daily basis, but I am not in the least bit addicted.

Do you actually...
- Have a weekly budget to play and do not ever go over it?
- Not ever get in debt for gambling?
- Have an allocated time for gambling and never exceed it?
- Gamble only socially with friends of relatives?
- Have someone helping you control your gambling?
-certain games I play require a minimum amount to have ,I guess this counts as a budget.
-true debt and gambling should never mix
-allocating how much you play isn't the smartest thing, stick to winners know when to stop
- I gamble against the house not friends, almost sounds like hustling friends and family
-am not a gambling addict to have some to help with my gambling

Limiting the time to play gambling will always be suggested to all gamblers to help them prevent the addiction. But unfortunately, not many gamblers will do that because once they found the excitement of playing gambling, they will forget about limitations and play longer than usual.

We might see many friends who are playing gambling finally become addicting to gambling and we can not do something for them because they do not want to get help from us. But we can at least try to give something that may be worth it for them and we can always warn them about the danger of playing gambling for some time.

When it comes to time managemen, I have divided my time for the things that I want to do. That is why I have enough time to gamble and also the funds I will gamble is also enough for the time I can spend for gambling. You may gamble many times but if you can control your urge to gamble then you won't get addicted just because you're also a gambler.
Good for you that you have a scheme to manage your time because a lot of people doesn't have that and if they have that, they don't commit that long to do it. I don't find the time to gamble since I am busy and I know that I can't control myself once I am doing it so I am thankful that I am really busy to even play some dice or poker.

And later on, when we realized that our money could've been more worthy to lose if we risk it to something else, like in a business or buying a property, so what's gonna happen next is you'll gamble again but not for pleasure, you're gonna play gambling because you wanted to take back your losses which is impossible and yes, you're going to be addicted on it while chasing your losses.
And one important moment: you will never take back your losses with gambling. Only even more losses in long term (or even short term). This is why I'm convinced that gambling can be used only for pleasure.
Exactly. An entertainment that pays for itself every now and then, nothing much. But most of the time, you pay for it. It's not a 50/50 game, because they do not make money when you lose money. Your lost money goes to a winner. They make money by not paying your winnings.

Limiting out your gambling time is a must but majority of gamblers do really missed out or fail to do so even if its too basic to hear on.
Basic as it is but many are failing to comply due to the satisfaction that's not being met. And losing also plays the part that prolongs our stay in a casino that makes us want to gamble more even if we've already said that we're going to gamble in a limited time.
Limitation helps us not to fall into addiction and if we care about ourselves, our future, this should be taken and acted seriously otherwise, we end up nothing.
I consider gambling just a pleasure and I'm even to manage just once a week. It is just a practice and makes a habit.
We are in a crisis now, gambling should not be a priority.
Yes, smart gamblers can limit stakes, play time, and can control themselves when betting not to become addicts.
because you will forget to stand when sitting and play gambling and it must be controlled and consistent to be able to limit not being too serious when playing because you will be carried away by a game atmosphere that will plunge you into defeat.
if we consider gambling for pleasure we should relax and enjoy it while betting but stay focused, and play when we have the right time in prime condition, have sufficient capital, and play when in leisure and just for fun.

OP even brings up the possibility of taking debt to gamble
one should never do that.

never invest more than what you can afford to loose.

Maybe because I have no money left over, so I am not active on gambling sites. A few months ago I had been there but out of curiosity. I was quite happy because back then it just followed like a game. Guess multiples with animation. But in the end my money ran out, maybe I can't manage money on a gambling site. So I thought it was for me to gamble for fun, not for work. Fortunately, the money I got from the contest was small.

Exactly, you accepting the fact that you're going to lose the moment you start gambling technically means that you don't care about your money anymore, that's why somehow we could say that we lose our control towards our money.

Maybe you're right, and I didn't get it what actually that meant.

You sound like too experienced in gambling but even I am planning many things to cut my gambling after certain hours of play, I never able to fulfill my plans; always I do just breach my own resolutions and then regret what if I have stopped as per my pre-determined plan.

If I would have stopped my gambling as per my planned timing then probably I might be richer by more than 1 or 2 whole bitcoins by this time. Time is money and not wasting it again helps us to remain richer; true as per my own experiences.

definitely a great point to bring on.
time is a scarce resource, its our most limited and precious asset, better to spend it wisely.

I can't agree more with what you've said. While our time is very limited, it all depends how we'll spend it and we have our time differences and obligations to do things that we have to do. And as for those gamblers that would want to loan money for gambling, they should not put that into option. If there's no money to gamble, they have to wait until their own money comes so there's no problem that they'll experience if they lose.
