All valid points, but this is still only the beginning. If the devs don't get it together more people will sour on bitcoin and perhaps never come back to it even if they fix it.

Honestly, there's very few people that sincerely believe in the coin that they are holding. Most people are just investing in altcoins because they want to earn more bitcoins. They are promoting the coin and saying that they "truly" believe on it but that's just so other people will buy the coin.

Altcoins are not following bitcoins at all since altcoins are introducing us to different gimmicks that a coin can do. Unfortunately, none of these really matter except for Lightning network which no coin has as of now. Altcoins have followed bitcoin's concept but that's just it. There's not much update going on in bitcoins so altcoins have nothing to follow.

As said bitcoin is the king of cryptocurrencies. The altcoins were just the followers which got developed based on the bitcoin's technology. In reality altcoins support in the growth of bitcoin with the competence, but at any stand this won't make bitcoin fall to altcoins. Altcoins always serve as an alternate to bitcoin, same as bitcoin serves to the traditional currency.

Bitcoin has been here with us for ages with its admirable security who deflects all the attacks it has received throughout the years and the actual things that people have brought with this stands as a proof that Bitcoin is not a scamcoin or anything. It has introduced itself to the people as a coin with a lot of potentials that will benefit us all.

It's hard to actually speculate what will happen in the future for bitcoin but bitcoin has faced many issues in the past and still survive no matter what, if an scaling doesn't get implemented it might be possible that alts may replace bitcoin like ETH, DASH or MONERO.
bitcoin will get through because legends doesn't simply die.

Maybe not, but we can't predict the future. We never know if a huge company or even a country is going to adopt a cryptocurrency. Which can lead to a huge price rise. I trust that there are coins that will follow bitcoin wherever he goes.

ETH and XRP have a very real chance at going somewhere.

ETH still has 2 more implementation to undergo before it is considered mostly completed.

XRP has thing sunder development too right now and they just did a locked coin program where coins are locked up for awhile. That will make price go up.

XRP could get to a few dollars in USD soon, it was up from 5 cents to around 45 cents recently.

Really it is they are many altcoins in the market you really have a high value like zcash, ethereum, monero etc. so they are almost like bitcoin but as we can see bitcoin is too far when it comes to price but the altcoin still have a chances becoming a successful too in the digital more and really they have a great potential.

I believe they have, but as payment systems (NETELLER, SKRILL, PAYZA, BITPAY) only care to accept Bitcoin deposits/withdrawals I have no choice. I would like to see another currency added, such as Litecoin because Bitcoin is no advantage for me anymore then I am dropping it.

Litecoin has really good chance of becoming a major contender soon. It likely will be better than Bitcoin after the upcoming Lightening Network update. Bitcoin has been very disappointing thesedays. Competition is a beautiful thing

Well bitcoin can fill any category of fields irrespective whether its commerce, science, business, satellite etc. It can also help poorer country as they can have their btc address and world can transfer the needy people btc to their address and they can sell it on local exchange and get money against it.
