I believe before participating in any airdrops, it is worth checking the official website of the project and analyzing it.
You also need to pay attention to the proposed product, technology and get to know the team.
Never follow suspicious links or connect your wallet to suspicious websites.

Yes, ARB and Optimism provide airdrops that make their users happy with what they have tried to carry out the tasks given in each phase, I am also still hunting for airdrops to this day, and indeed there are lots of scam projects, if we are not good at finding potential projects it is very risky.
Moreover, nowadays airdrops need capital to participate in their airdrop events, so you have to be more careful in choosing projects.
BTW, did you take part in the airdrop event offered by the zkSync network developer? lots of people speculated that this event had crazier prizes, because there weren't that many who took part in this event.
For ARB and Optimism looks can't categories as airdrop project because we have spent our fees transaction active on their platform get qualify for earn both coins. But most profitable for participants earn airdrop from both coins with higher amount actually and right now seems difficult to earn airdrop with the same way like ARB and Optimism coins. Right now have been popular with zkSync network and we need spent much or higher fees each time transaction in this platform. Actually zkSync network still not confirm yet they will launch and have allocation their coins for airdrop participants. For retroactive its not guarantee earn airdrop but have getting risk for spent fees transaction and waiting one or two years later they will announce has airdrop distribution or not.

Beside these scam airdrops , there are some airdrops which gave me a lot of money, as I can say about the Maverick that was previously launched and give users some profit, and also Arbitrum Airdrop, and recently Optimism gives its users a massive airdrop. So, scammers are everywhere, we should take care along with doing any airdrop.
Right bro, I am agree with you. So many scam airdrops around but if we will research still possible to earn money from airdrops, I am benefited from two big airdrops payment,
First one is Uniswap (worth 1500$ coin),
Second was arbitrum it was also another my big payment from airdrop.

these were the best airdrops in recent times and many other projects really wanted to repeat their success but they didn't succeed. Over the past half a year, I can’t remember at least one interesting and profitable drop. So far, one disappointment even in those projects that seemed to generously reward their users.

Yes we definitely need some capital in terms of gas fees, trading volume, providing liquidity, LP farming, staking, minting NFTs and passports that most of these mainnet platforms are doing that are interacting with LayerZero, zkSync, Polygon zkEVM, Starknet, etc.

I myself have focused on a single wallet but with more activities in different chains. Of course, it's an airdrop wallet and not my main one where I have kept most of my stablecoins and other important assets.

I regretted not knowing about Arbitrum and Optimism earlier (especially Aptos and Blur) which they have made solid profit to the early supporters and users.

Retroactive drops are the thing right now that would potentially be giving us some future rewards.

Best is to avoid altcoins all together and just stick to bitcoin that you store in open source wallet like Electrum or even better hardware wallet.  That way you dont have to worry about these types of airdrop scams

I think it's better to create a new wallet that only used for airdrop, so it's safer and makes our main wallet more secure, then of course we will never be afraid to participate in any airdrop, because the wallet we use to join airdrop is a new wallet and not a wallet for storing assets that we have (main wallet).
I think by revoking smart contract authorization towards our wallet already suffice if we really want to avoid getting drained of our wallet but I guess
just changing wallet and have an address specialized for airdrops would be more safer from getting our investment drained by some scammers I guess.
but I think someone should just pick only some airdrops that they deemed to be trustworthy like having partnership with big platform for the sake of having legit airdrops.
time wasted following some shitcoin airdrop just isn't worth it honestly.

man the only thing I hunt for is the technology
I'm a big web3 fan and for now I'll keep my eye on Neon Link but!
See what happens when you use youTube in a wrong way to promote
If I see project like Neon Link on some dope hyped YouTube channel I'll think twice before researching
Tho I'll research...
Those things were created for good and in the end you see... It leads to money
Hopefully people will see the truth behind it

Sure, not all airdrops are scams. Arbitrum and Optimism are the examples of good airdrops. But you must realize that only a few airdrops can give people good amount of money, while most airdrops just waste people's time and efforts. It is not the wrong way to join airdrops as long as we don't expect too much on the results. We must also be more careful to choose airdrops, don't choose airdrops that order us to deposit some money. We also must avoid to pass KYC on the random airdrops. It is true that scammers are everywhere, we must take more attention on our data and money.

I don't think anyone will hunt for airdrops if they understand and analyze the token. Most of the tokens never list on exchanges. We got numerous requests to list some shitcoins back in the old days. There was a time when scammers created some tokens and created a telegram bot and people to participate in their campaigns. 99% of them were fake tokens!
There are still some tokens we can hunt for that will have some good use in the market. Since we are nit paying for any of them, it will be wise for us to hunt for some good projects in the market not all projects that are having airdrops. There are some airdrops that are useless and have no value do we need to carry out our own research so that we can earn why we go about our business. It is very important for us to select at random which project will be of good advantage to us and the once that will never give us any profits even though we decide to hold larger quantities.

Although it is an excellent way to reduce the risks, if you also create a new wallet, you need to fill it with some money, and this money that will be paid as a fee can be stolen, so it should be little money that you can afford to lose. Also, I think it is better before you connect any of your wallets to do your research. Yes, it will take some time, but this is the ideal solution to avoid falling victim to scam airdrops. Frankly, I prefer projects with their own network and robust ecosystem because it will likely give the first participants a fantastically profitable airdrop. I made good profits this year from solid airdrops such as Aptos, Space ID, ARB, and Indxcoin, and I see many other opportunities that are still not finished yet. Airdrop hunting is excellent and profitable, but the hunter must have the experience so as not to lose his wallet and waste his time.

If you have ever made any money on airdrops, I guess it will be very hard to just give up on it. I used to hunt airdrops back to back few years ago. My whole life depends on it then, I have Tyrion to pay and upkeep. Crypto was my escape root. And airdrops was the best opportunity to see free money. Has its name implies. I was able to sponsor myself through college with the help of money made from airdrops. The way I hunt airdrop has reduced though, but if I see any good airdrop. I will go for it immediately.

I gave up on airdrops ever since the altcoin bubble burst , and we moved from ICOs to IEOs...of course IEOs are better but the higher risk ICOs offered lucrative tokens and airdrops were generous too.

Not forgetting the fact that too many people out there know how to mint their own coins means we have too many shitcoins on the market that have given airdrops and altcoins a bad reputation because of selfish devs trying to get rich quick!
But of course we still have good airdrops out there just a matter of knowing good platforms to get them..
The change in tone from ICOs to IEOs, from naive hope to jaded pessimism, is a familiar one. There's no doubting that the collapse of the altcoin market was a devastating blow to many of us. You are also correct in saying that the airdrop scene has become more complicated because to the influx of new tokens, many of which are of questionable quality. Nonetheless, Im confident that even within this mayhem, chances can be found. Unfortunately, airdrops have gotten a terrible rap thanks to the "get rich quick" crowd. Still, there are legitimate initiatives that employ airdrops to expand their supporter base.

Doing your homework is the most important step. Bitcoin, the first cryptocurrency, is the benchmark by which all others are measured as we navigate the murky waters of the cryptocurrency market. We need to keep our sights on that lighthouse while we fly through the airdrop world

there will always be people looking for airdrops, especially after ARB and SUI a while ago. maybe we don't know how many people are looking for it, but I'm still pretty sure that it's a lot. another thing is also because the work is easy, so they are just trying their luck.
Personally, I haven't been looking for airdrops for a long time because almost all the airdrops I've tried to participate in end up being scams, or giving away coins or tokens that can't be sold. many of my friends also think like that. however, after ARB and SUI, they are trying to get some airdrops from popular places. some of them managed to earn a few dollars from the airdrop.

There are so many ways for them to raise funds from their sales, and the last thing I feel is IDO but that also doesn't last long but in the end not all IDOs are smooth including IEO which we often know from some they are just trying to take advantage of the hype situation .

For me the IEO that is still holding up well is on Binance but it is very rare for Binance to relaunch like this.

The ecosystem is now too easy to mint coins with different networks and has lower costs so it would not be surprising if more shitcoins were created just for the sake of enriching a team and they promoted only to get funds from the sale, of course in the end the token These do not develop and die when they enter the exchange after a few months.
I believe there are still some good projects out of which they have more potential airdrops but it's still difficult for us to research where the good airdrops are, but now there are lots of airdrops scattered through the bridge network.
