According to the bible Hebrews 11:1, Faith is confident assurance that what we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us even though we cannot see it up ahead. So faith is believing even if you do not see things and hoping that things will happen eventually. Believing is just a factor of faith added up to trust thus, making faith.
I think that the words "believe" and "faith" are related but their meanings are not the same. One can believe in something but not put his or her trust (faith) on it. So you can believe in something without putting your faith on it, but you can't have faith without believing something first.
In my opinion belief and faith is not the same.If you believe something it means that you have proof and thare is some reason to act like that.In adition believe it means that you are trying to understand and not just waiting the fate.From the other side maybe you think that the faith has the shame meaning but it hasn't .We could say that is a similar word, but I believe that faith is a more pathetic and monotonous word.
Faith is the criterion of subordination of the person. If he really believes that he is always ready to submit to any action to which it pushes the preachers. Believers it is the fanatics that may present a danger to others. Fortunately most people only pretend to believe.

I'm no expert on the word but to me faith is acting upon something that you believe, especially something that goes against what is easy to believe. If you lack faith it really means that you don't believe what you claim to believe as well.
Today many people are all talk no action. If such and such happens then I will do this to fix it. Well such and such happens and they don't do anything. It can be a lack of faith where they sort of believe that they can do something to fix the problem but they don't really do it.
