How you do anything is how you do everything..
No one thought paper money would replace metals, and barter. Now it looks more plausible that crypto may take over.

Actually now the paper money has now  to switch to the card, many transactions in the store and retailes using the card, but the currency used for  deposit of the card is still using fiat currency, just few which use cryptocurrency

I think it will be possible. Now, many people use debit card for trading and use online banking for money transfer. Look at your children they are born with internet so in the future, everything will be digital.

I do but I don't think it'll be bitcoin.. the transation time is just ridiculous.. I think bitcoin will always be a good commodity like gold but it needs to have much faster transaction time in whatever is massively adopted.

Yes, I also have a mind in that direction. Even now we don't have to use paper money to transact, and as we know our people Too dependent in digital. And i think digital currency is the successor of paper money struggle. In the past the money continued the relay of barter swapping.

I don't think crypto will ever replace paper money, however i think it will have big roll in whole payment structure and something is going to change, that is for sure.
Why not? Bitcoin is atleast lot better than the paper money.
No, it's not, as long as people see it as investment and only as investment. When people start to see it as currency then it will become better than paper money.
Fiat will no longer work when govt. Start to lose control.
You are living in dreams, wake up.
Indeed, anyone who is dreaming that Cryptocurrencies will take over any fiat currency is a joke. It's just not going to happen. In terms of digital currencies (aka Crypto), nope, they will never replace fiat currencies. I think that the title is misleading too. Digital forms of payments, such as credit cards, mobile apps and so on, are indeed taking over the traditional paper money, however, it's not possible to go extinct. Both will co-exist. Cryptocurrencies on the other hand, are a whole different story, they were not meant to take over Fiat, they were practically made to co-exist.

I have always imagined the whole world using only one cryptocurrency, but that won't happen in this lifetime lol

Innovation is a thing for countries nowadays. I think like in China, Alipay they using online payments already. Maybe some time in the future bitcoins would be a thing. I agree with you partly because how about the homeless, how are they going to use the online payment thing. This is pretty depressing and difficult at the same time

Personally I say yes as our society becomes increasingly dependent upon technology, digital currency will become a more popular means of paying for different things and it is more effective and instant. I haven't used much physical money in the past 8 years and I rarely had any problems with that.

What do you guys think? Wink

Every person on earth are using credit cards, online banking etc. These stuff are the first steps to revolution bitcoin around the world. People can definitely get accustomed to using bitcoin instead of cash in near future...

I say it will it's a matter of time. Paper money is an outdated tool of value transnfering, too many limitations and central entities controling it's supply. Dollar the the current standard for paper money is already destined to inflation due to the intrinsic debt it comes with once its printed, with an effort that when compared to the tech and resources that go into creating one BTC is just minimal.
Digital currencies can be faster, safer and IMO the future o value tranfering and storing

absolutely no digital currency can never ever replace paper money, because there are still some places like the traditional market places where digital money doesn't apply to, and in those areas paper money would continue to play dominant roles in it

interesting reads so far, i would like to state a fact that indeed a section of people are still traditional and wont be able to understand the the digital currency in its entirety, since not all transaction solely depends on it... but i believe that in a few years though digital currency would be competing with the attention that paper  money has garnered over the years.

Yes it is. Cryptocurrency is step by step replacing paper money in all over the world. For example before cryptocurrency created you only can use cash and your credit card to pay for anything but for now there are a lot of shops, stores, restaurants accept Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency for payment. Beside in my country a university accepted Bitcoin for tuition as well Cheesy. In my opinion in the near future cryptocurrency will be used in every fields and it'll replace cash soon Smiley

I absolutely think since change is something that is inevitable, and innovation is one of the targets of each country; maybe... maybe some day, everything would be done online. For example, Jack Ma the founder of Alibaba just did a talk in our school. He mentioned that some day alipay (A online payment system) would take over. Seeing that as it is, it's already applied in China, its not impossible that it too would happen in other countries and maybe with bitcoin.

I think we are moving towards digital currency now a days. Practically speaking theres not much need of paper money in the developed world. You can buy and sell anything with your cards and cryptocurrencies. If you are talking about Cryptos replacing Fiat? thats whole another story. For a Crypto enthusiast, its going to be a long wait.

Why not? Bitcoin is atleast lot better than the paper money. I know bitcoin comes with its limitations but forks are coming to set out all the limitations of bitcoins and cryptocurrencies. Fiat will no longer work when govt. Start to lose control.
