It works in the short run, fails in the long run. That's the simple answer. That's mathematically provable, so I really don't understand why there's still a debate about it.
certainly to wear martingale strategy or method you need a strong and big bankroll. useless if you have a small bankroll. even if you wear them for a short period of time. it will remain the same. you will lose man!

I really wish that the OP or some moderators would go ahead and lock this thread.  Anyone who still doesn't know if "martingale really works" after 95 pages of discussion is just not going to learn anything because a few more paid posters add their 2 satoshis.  This thread gets brought back from the dead twice a year and nothing new is ever actually added.

Yes, for people who have read this thread already there is almost nothing new everytime the thread is brought back. But we shouldn't forget about newcomers. I think almost everybody who start gambling comes to idea of martingale in one form or another. It happened to me too some time ago. I thought martingale was my invention.  Grin

So for the sake of newcomers I think this thread should not be locked ever....but that's just my opinion of course.

+1

Funnily enough, I saw this thread with its huge contribution in unread topics just now and thought "WTF? Of course it doesn't", came to have a look and hopefully find some major insight and of course, there is none.
A perfect thread to farm on/pick up sig money (see above poster's history for an example).

Burn it.

In my experience, It doesn't work for me, I have been in a continues martingale one time and it ends up being busted, but there are times also when I tried martingale in a smaller bet, and it went well, but never in big bets..

I really doubt that is happening. Not only this, but majority of threads in the gambling/bitcoin discussion sections are always brought to life by new posters . As far this thread is concerned,I don't think OP can lock this threads since he was last seen online at Last Active:   May 29, 2014, 10:12:54 AM Maybe Mods can move this thread to Archival.

Martingale or any strategy will just fall under the provably fair system so it's no sense to make some strategy because the chances of winning are the same.

Others think that certain strategy works because they win in those strategy but all in all they are just lucky.

No,martingale is a falling strategy in long term.
You can win only for short time.
You can bet fixed stake in long term you can make profit.

martingale will work with some conditions. If you have unlimited balance and the house has unlimited max profit, maybe martingale will work. But nowadays every gambling site have their own max profit with different kind of reason. That's why in my opinion martingale wont work if we use it very often(long term).
I think even you don't have unlimited balance and unlimited max profit you can still make a profit  but it depends if how you are lucky..
Not all people in gambling are lucky but sometimes martingale works for some people honestly i made 0.05 with the deposited 0.005 using this martingale i made 0.05 manually im not using a bot but my method is the same as martingale.. 0.05+ is the big amount for me to win. so that i decide to withdraw it not to continue to play because there's many chance that you will lose in long run..
If you are greedy you will lose a lot if you are wise and smart you can make a profit..

Most people said it is working on short term/run but I think it is not depend on the time, For me Martingale is working when we win and it is not working when we lose. Means that it may work on both short and long term depends on the results.

Martingale is basically and mostly used in binary options bcz there are certain theories used in bitcoin binary option trading and it really works in binary option I tried it on one of the best bitcoin binary option trading platform.
What kind theory?
I guess there is no way to make martingale really work to gain profit, it does work sometimes but mostly will bust all past winning.
I just believe martingale work on sportsbook but still it's needed some skill to analyze.

I saw thousands of people talking about martingale in almost every kinda bet, this guys are never in the winners section... most of them in the poker room... martingal sounds like a miracle, but I saw many player lost everything believing it could save their money... best strategy is to keep eyes wide open everytime, every second... man, I won a car (same value I mean) in pokerstars in 2013... trust me, this martingale could be used as a test, but nothin' guarantees you, NOTHING!

no, you are wrong dude.. there are guarantees on martingale Roll Eyes

there are guarantees to lose your bank roll Cheesy

i look at Martingale method as a way to ensure profit.
when you set up a multiplier and a fixed amount to raise after each loss it means that you guarantee that if you win after a set amounts of rolls, then you make a profit out of it.
but that is only if you win which is not going to be always.

Martiangle is best method to make early profit But do not let it last forever because it will be bust as far as my experience playing using that method.
I'm changing my martiangle method into small chance of winning method but provide huge mutliplier so being lose at the first and winner at the last  Smiley
