Donetsk and Lugansk authorities have files with testimonials of hundreds of civilians and military personel, who were liberated from the Kiev armed groups and bear witness of torture and simulated executions.

At 19:00 fire was opened from armoured vehicle.

It seems to me that Poroshenko and Yatsenyuk would prefer DNR and LNR outside Ukraine. If the 5 million citizens of DNR / LNR are made eligible to vote in the Ukrainian elections, then that would reduce the vote share of the pro-EU parties. The Opposition Bloc might end up as the single largest party in the parliament.

What should Russia do? The border control posts on the Ukrainian side of Russo-Ukrainian border are under the control of DNR / LNR, after they kicked out the Kiev junta forces more than a year ago. If you want the control of these posts, then ask Poroshenko to start talks with the DNR / LNR authorities. Russia has nothing to do with this.

The monitoring mission of the UN Human Rights Council to Ukraine has recorded facts of mass killings of civilians, abductions, torture, sexual abuse, forced labor and extortion by Russian-backed militants in Donbas, according to Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry. 

"Ukraine has carefully studied the eleventh Report of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, which covers the period from May 16 to August 15, 2015. The information collected by the monitoring mission is another evidence of a highly negative impact of the Russian aggression against Ukraine on the human rights. In particular, it clearly states the impact on human rights across the region of external factors, such as Russian supply of military forces, weapons and ammunition to the Donbas," as stated in comments by MFA of Ukraine provided to UNIAN.

It is noted that the report is of great importance as it documents the crimes committed by Russian-backed illegal armed groups in the east of Ukraine. Among the facts reported by the mission are mass killings of civilians, abductions, torture, sexual abuse, forced labor and extortion.
