And those restrictions are almost gone.
It took Romania only 20 years to get into the EU and I'm counting here 90-00 when nobody was that keen on expanding the Union.

The anti-immigration sentiments are at all time high, as evident from the recent gains for the far right in countries such as France and the Netherlands. I am not certain about Ukraine gaining the EU membership anytime soon.

Germany is not going to grant Ukrainians citizenship or visas for the next 50 years or so.

I see what you did there Smiley.

Ok , ok I agree with you , life is 1000 billions better in Russia , they have 100 times the average wage of the poor german worker

Originally we were comparing the salaries of the Ukrainian citizens with their Russian counterparts. You diverted from the topic and started the Russia vs Germany comparison. But what is the point? Germany is not going to grant Ukrainians citizenship or visas for the next 50 years or so.

No he was not comparing that.

Check his post.

And don't accuse me of diverting the post when this shill comes in with the non-sense.

I am new in this thread but I found myself rooting for the rebels. I just read that Russia is now the richest country in Europe by GDP-PPP (purchasing power parity, which is the most accurate measurement of wealth). THe GDP-PPP of Russia for 2013 is $3.4 trillion vs. Germany's $3.3 trillion, then Russia is the biggest luxury-market in Europe, then here come these unlucky Russians who because who found themselves trapped with the poor Ukrainians (GDP of Ukraine is $175 billion which is Africa level). Just imagine being separated by your family which is now flying high & only a border separate them from your misery (salary in Russia is 4-10x that of Ukraine)!!

His first phrase was about Germany and Russia and how Russia is living a luxury life compared to Europe.

Are you sure about your 50 years?

I really find your style tedious, I wonder how your power of comprehension works. I did not mean that Russia is living a luxury life compared to Europe, I wrote "the biggest luxury-market in Europe", meaning the luxury houses get their bigger sales in Russia compared to the rest of Europe. Meaning the Russians buy more luxury goods than anyone in Europe. Why is there lower sales in Europe? Well, because they love to quote big GDP's but the people really don't have purchasing power. There is 50% youth unemployment in the EU, the economies are anemic, people & governments are drowning in debts.

There goes the meaning of GDP-PPP, people have purchasing power & there lies the difference. FYI, the biggest luxury market in the world is CHina. LOw GDP per capita you say? That only means that that measurement , GDP per capita, doesn't say the true picture as regards to the purchasing power of the citizens.

Yes. Although the native German population is dropping steadily (250k per year?), the immigration rules are quite tough. It might be a bit easier for the current EU nationals to immigrate to Germany. But when Ukraine joins EU, they will find themselves unwelcome in most of the richer EU nations, including Germany. Remember the restrictions placed on migrants from Romania and Bulgaria.

I'm pretty sure it will take Ukraine less than that to enter the Union. Don't forget there are higher interests to do so than in ro case.
If (unlikely) russia doesn't make a step towards completely annexing Ukraine this will happen within this term.

GDP of russia is 2.015 trillion the one of Germany is 3.4 trillions

The GDP per capita of Russia is 17,884 compared to Germany 40,007.

Well, Nithior,

If you noticed I used GDP-PPP, which is different from Nominal GDP found in Wikipedia. GDP-PPP meaning purchasing power parity which is more accurate measurement of a nation's wealth, as now believed by most economists (Basing on GDP-PPP, former research director of the IMF, Arvin Suvramanian declared China has eclipsed the US as the world's richest country since 2010 yet). You are using Nominal GDP which the WESt loves to use because it makes them richer, but that is incomplete & it's easily manipulable, like Italy & UK including prostitution & drugs in their computation & the US actually unilaterally changing the computation formula. Nominal GDP is part of the Western propaganda protocol that's why those values you can easily access through Wikipedia & other arbitrary publications.

For 2013, according to World Bank figures, the GDP-PPP of Russia is $3.4 trillion & Germany has $3.3 trillion

Ok , ok I agree with you , life is 1000 billions better in Russia , they have 100 times the average wage of the poor german worker , everybody is driving a mercedes to his parked ferrari and they don't want to go to heaven because russia is heaven on earth.

I should have known better than arguing with a newbie account that was probably made only to boos russian propaganda around

LOL, it appears a newbie knows more what he's talking about than a "veteran"... it's obvious you are the paid propagandist here the way you force your arguments to destroy your targets. JUst to remind perhaps a "veteran" that some members, especially the newbies, do actually use their heads... and that they are fair....

GDP figures for countries like Russia and Italy are severely under-estimated, due to extreme tax evasion. In Germany there is no such problem, and you might be able to measure the real GDP.

Based on that logic Greece might have the highest gdp pp in the world , right?
Does it help the average Greek citizen? Of course not. Nor does it work for italians or russians.

We have the same problem here and if we count the black economy we would double our gdp but....
