The Russian flags on Ukrainian Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs) were a stratagem, Kiev says. According to the acting head of the Batkivshchina Party, Sergey Sobolev, the Ukrainian military raised Russian flags on their vehicles on purpose, to fool the Donetsk region’s self-defense squads and thus be able to get into areas under the control of protesters.

“Those were our military units using guerilla methods of intervention,” Sobolev said, citing the acting Defense Minister. “Very soon, in two to three hours this maneuver is going to be disclosed and you’ll understand that it was actually a breakthrough, which our units thus carried out.”

Ok this is getting really ridiculous now. Why the hell would anyone want to publish something which -if it was true- should be kept as top secret?

Yeah, arms shipments went according to plan. Of course, you can't just send the weapons without applying an appropriate security measures, so you have to send some soldiers as couriers along with it. Cheesy

Lol... remember that the protesters immediately freed the surrendered Ukrainian soldiers, without even seizing their machine guns, grenades and other small arms. They took only the APCs.  Grin

Earlier the protesters were armed with nothing more than sticks and baseball bats. Now they have APCs, MBTs and AK-47. Guess what? The Kiev junta has succeeded in arming the protesters.  Grin

According to Interfax, citing local self-defense activists, some 300 Ukrainian troops agreed to lay down their weapons and “go home” following negotiations in Slavyansk.

Nice comment:
It's really depressing when people who live within one country are fighting each other... Should've just let them leave.

I don't think it will really come down to fighting, unless US imports some goons. Russia is keeping out of it, while the citizens of Ukraine comprising the Army quickly discover that they really have nothing against the citizens of Ukraine comprising the protesters.

Hmm Smiley

Another 15 APCs stuck in Kramatorsk after being sieged by the crowd. It seems like the Kiev regime is trying hard to arm the pro-Russia protesters. Also, the Ukrainian military has admitted that it has lost 6 APCs.

Masked pro-Russian men attack British photojournalist Frederick Paxton during the mass storming of a police station in the eastern Ukrainian town of Horlivka on Monday, April 14, 2014. Several government buildings has fallen to mobs of Moscow loyalists in recent days as unrest spreads across the east of the country. Western journalists have routinely been targeted by intimidation by crowds during stormings.

NATO coordinated a plan of action in response to the crisis in Ukraine.
By that they mean: "More planes in the air, more ships at sea, more troops on the ground"
They will direct more ships to the Baltic Sea (check geography!)

Well, when Army is involved, killing is usually on the menu. With messy, I meant that there are no longer clear cut "good guys" and "bad guys".

Ukraine could learn a thing or two from ex-Yugoslavia. Lesson one: don't send troops into the hostile territory if you're not willing to use them. Lesson two: if you decide to use your troops, use them to their full capacity.

Not doing so will affect the morale of your soldiers, and bolster the other side.

Lesson 3: If the troops and "the other side" is the same people, it gets really messy.

Unfortunately messy means killing takes place.....
