MOSCOW, January 29 (Sputnik) — The chief of Ukraine’s General Military Staff Viktor Muzhenko acknowledged that Russian regular army units were not involved in combat action in the troubled Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
“Right now the Ukrainian army is not engaged in combat operations against Russian regular units,” he underscored.
Muzhenko added, however, that he had information about Russian civilian and military individuals fighting alongside independence supporters in the country’s east.
He also said the Ukrainian army had everything it needed to rout what he described as illegal armed units in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Speaking at the Davos economic forum on January 21, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said there were upwards of 9,000 Russian military personnel fighting on the side of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics. Russia denied the charge dismissing it as a “primitive fake”.
However, the US State Department was unable to confirm these allegations. According to OSCE observers based at two border crossing points at the Russian-Ukrainian border, there had been no movement of military equipment over the border.
“There is absolutely no way you can possibly hide huge military formations on a relatively small territory wide open to reporters and OSCE representatives,” the General Military Staff said in a statement.  

Since the start of the government forces' military assault on eastern Ukraine's independence supporters in April 2014, Kiev and the West have repeatedly accused Russia of intervening in the Ukrainian crisis. The accusations went as far as to claim that Moscow sent troops and weapons to help the independence militias.
Nevertheless, the Kremlin has dismissed the claims as not corroborated by any evidence.

OSCE observers recorded several convoys of terrorists' tanks

OSCE recorded movement of unmarked military equipment in the occupied areas of the Donbas.

As reported in  the OSCE report dated Jan. 28.

"In Donetsk on 28 January, the SMM observed one unmarked stationary armoured personnel carrier (BMP-2) inside a heavily populated built-up area in the city centre. The SMM also observed movement of seven green coloured unmarked trucks, of the types "KAMAZ" and "URAL", heading south from Donetsk city centre, and later in the day thirteen green coloured empty trucks, type "URAL", also heading south from Donetsk city centre.

"On 28 January, on the outskirts of Khartsyzk (25km east of Donetsk, "DPR"-controlled) alongside road H21 the SMM observed a parked column of five T-72 tanks facing east, and immediately after, another column of four T-72 tanks moving east on the same road which was accompanied by four unmarked military trucks, type URAL. All vehicles and tanks were unmarked. Later, in Makiivka (12km east of Donetsk, "DPR"-controlled), the SMM observed a column of seven unmarked military trucks, type URAL, also heading east," the reports reads.

The leader of “Right Sector” Dmitriy Yarosh attends sessions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with a grenade in his pocket. He stated this in the interview to the Ukrainian “Hromadske TV” channel.

According to Yarosh, this is due to a large number of the "enemies of Ukraine" at the session hall.

“Being there [at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine], especially in one hall with outspoken enemies of Ukraine causes discomfort to me. Well, I have a grenade and I will throw it as a last resort. Seriously, I am carrying one with myself. They [security at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine] have no right to search us – deputies. Securities ask me if I have weapons or not, I say no and I walk through.” – Yarosh said.

I want to briefly explain to the Ukrainian colleagues, what is the modern Russian army, and what would happen, if it would come to visit them in reality, and not in their wet dreams.

Firstly, today we use digital radio communication with local encryption. You can intercept it, but you cannot decipher it. The code changes in 50 minutes, an hour, an hour and twenty-two minutes - on arbitrary unpredictable schedule. Ukrainian military and the armed forces of Novorossia are using an old analog model, which you can listen to. And the Russian army now has communications which was previously only on secure communication lines, - you can only hear the crackling and a characteristic murmur.

Secondly, if the Russian army appears in front of UAF, it will be easy to determine.

The first sign - failure of all means of communication, full discharging of batteries in vehicles, tanks and other equipment, at the same time, discharge of batteries in mobile phones, the targets, and radio stations. Then, there is a rapture of electric circuits throughout all the equipment - all of it. This is EMP. All engines stall, no way to restart. This is how the system "X" works (in order to protect the author we do not specify the name), with a range of up to 20 km.

Second - complete failure of all systems using LCD monitors, the failure of all target-locating devices of the air defense system. This is how the complex "Altair" works (this is a known complex in the world, we can name it).

Third - a failure to deploy any kinds of guided missile weapons - from MANPADS to PTURS [anti-tank guided reactive missile]. Upon launching, the ammunition liquidates itself.

This is a  battalion complex "Z" - on the basis of MTLB [multi-target light armored transporter]. Range - 15 kilometers.

Fourth - it is impossible to use a drone and low-flying aircraft. Their on board electronics will fail. This is system "Y". Then there is a complex "Avtobaza", which can forcibly land a drone.

What will happen next? Dozens (hundreds, if necessary) of the latest combat helicopters, flying over all the roads, start hunting for single armored vehicles, trains, cars. Railroad is paralyzed, bridges blown up. The  lights go out on the home front - electric stations are out of service. Civil and military headquarters on the home front and separate leaders simultaneously are liquidated by the recon-subversive groups.

This is roughly how the Russian army would conduct military operations today. Therefore, the wet dreams about the "hero-cyborgs", spitting flame on hundreds of Russian tanks, are better left to science fiction writers."

Armed Forces General Staff has information about the participation of soldiers of the army of the Russian Federation in the conflict in eastern Ukraine.

This was announced during a briefing Armed Forces Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Victor Muzhenko.

"To date, we have only the involvement of some members of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Russian citizens as part of illegal armed groups in the fighting. Fighting units of the regular Russian army today we're also not. We have enough forces and means in order to inflict a final defeat even illegal armed formation "- he said.
