What he asked for is what everyone wants. Detailed pictures and proof that it mines. Put an amp clamp on it and show us how much power it draws. Take detailed photos from all angles so we can see the difference from the bitmain units. Show it hashing live on a video, both on the pool and on the miner status page at the same time. Maybe use a dB meter to see if it is quieter as they claim.

Turns out there is another new miner that will put DragonMint out of business!!!!

Thanks for the suggestions!

I still can't understand why they are choosing inside -people for reviewers?  Huh

I mean, give one for Phil or Dabs for review and it would be much more transparent review for the community.

I am not really an "insider".  Long standing community member in Bitcoin and miner.

How about you just make raw unedited, not cut video, with all the numbers, PSU, and Dashboard from your pool? its simple..

Sounds good.   Thanks for the suggestion.

Since I take it you have never seen/read any recent reviews, how about using these for a how-to guide:
(Review/Guide) WhatsMiner M3 11.5 Th/s, 2000W Bitcoin (SHA-256) ASIC miner
and
(Review/Guide) Hotmine X5 upgrade kit for Antminer S1/S3/S5

Does not address concerns about the company's method of financing their venture (pre-sales) nor the ability to produce the miners in large numbers BUT it certainly does give credible proof of the miners existing.

Thanks I will review.  As for the other concerns.  Sorry - Can't help you.

I doubt that Bitmain can "carry a stock", as their access to foundry production is pretty limited due to them being a small producer while AMD, NVidia, and the like have foundries booked for MONTHS ahead on LARGE wafer count production runs.

As has been mentioned in many other threads before, the very few foundries that HAVE 14/16nm production lines are SWAMPED by demand - and the cost to bring such a line up and into production is bloody expen$$$$$$$$ive and takes quite a while.

No insult intended promojo, but you're not exactly a WELL known member - I'd vastly prefer someone that IS well known like phillipma or HaggisFin or even Doogie to review a unit before I'm inclined to trust in it's existence.

I'm not sure if I'd count on that list, as I've not posted reviews of "new gear" from new manufacturers before.

No insult taken.  I have been a miner since 2011.   It was given to me on spec and I said I would do a demo/review.   All I can suggest is that you contact and talk to the company directly.  I can't help ya.  Sorry.

I can say this we are better off that it is fake.

If it is real and if it does 16000 on 1200 watts bitmain will drop price on the s-9 to 800 as that would be a better deal then this one is.

I prefer it to be fake and the s-9 the best item on the market.

Where is the logic in this? You prefer it to be fake so you will pay *more* for s-9 instead for less? Which market is s-9 "the best", it is not available for sale for a long time, and will be unavailable as long as it is profitable for Bitmain to mine with new machines instead to sell them to you. How can you post such nonsense?
Terrible as monopoly is, bitmain can at least have some control to keep miners reasonably profitable. In a race to the bottom competing scenario mining stops being profitable (look at X11 with the D3, A5, Baikal...). Mining is only really profitable in a hardware shortage scenario, if mining hardware is cheap and easily available (where competition will take it), mining profit will be pretty low and only possible for those with very cheap electricity.

What are you talking about? Right at this moment, with s-9 (13 TH/s, 1274W, 0.12 US$/KW/h) it costs 1786 US$ of electricity to mine 1 BTC. Look at the market price of BTC, it's almost 10x that. It's the real reason Bitmain is not selling any machines for a long time and will not sell new ones for next few months. And you people are praying for things to stay this way and no real competition comes to Bitmain?!?

Well let's hope he comes through with a thorough review.

Some disassembly pictures would be quite nice, so that we would see the hash boards, controller..

I did ask that guy from Facebook if he's a member here and whether or not he plans to review it in the forum.
I had to laugh he seemed pretty defensive with some of the questions he was getting. I'll update if he gives me any info.

If it all pans out the additional competition in the market would be nice.

It looks like the reset button is external instead of requiring a paper clip or something to push it. The S9 does have rails on the side so that is different also.

Edit: The I/O board looks much narrower than the S9 also

Why do they always only show one angle? I'd believe it's real if they can show photos of every angle. While they have couple reputable folks vouching for them, something smells fishy here.
Fishy indeed. I don't understand their reasoning on not sending it to Phil, Haggs or any other reputable reviewer here. I would be 100% in if one of them gave a positive review.

Not ready to call scam on the poster, but the whole company still screams scam to me.

This totally reminds of me "Kids games". When we were kids, there was always 1 spoiled brat that was showing off... "I have new lamborgini"... "But i can't show it to you, because its at my home and i don't want to show it, its still better then yours < insert here whatever > ".

That is some bullshit logic right there. If you have 1, do the DAMN review, and stop with all the bullshitness and nonsense going around, in 1 simple review everything can be cleared, or any doubt removed/confirmed
