I got a reply from Halong Mining (the DragonMint 16Th/s miner).
They said that they don't have many prototypes around yet,
but they see what they can do, so that I could buy one for a thorough review at the forum.

Stay tuned.

I'm eagerly waiting their next reply as I guess many of you are waiting too.  Smiley

I have said it in here THRICE now... I will be getting one to review for the forum.   I should have it next week.

I'm looking forward to it.  Smiley

I have not yet received new info about whether I can buy one demo unit or not.

Never said anything about pre-mine. I was reffering to the general attitude to pre-order 3 month in advance. You cant tell me Bitmain needs the money to source parts or do RD

Bitmain does not... but they still do what they did in the past... pre-order and take the money.  More than likely Bitmain CAN carry a stock and sell in real time but they don't want to.....   I have heard a lot of interesting things about that company and what they do to short supplies and what not....  These guys are competing directly with them so they need to secure funding in advance.

I am all with you, but I think the main reason for any company doing pre-order right now is to grab extra profits from rising crypto prices.

I still believe a preorder of 3-4 weeks would be ok. 3 Months with the L3+ was pure torture for me lol

Incorrect... I know people that work at the company... They need the money in advance to pre-book the foundry, workers, parts, etc....   NOT so they can play with the money or pre-mine with the gear... etc etc etc.

You are all INSIGNIFICANT to Halong Mining, and every other ASIC manufacturer with your 1 miner order and shoe-string budget!

Did Elon Musk send you a Semi-truck to test too?

No! a BUSINESS entity needs to recoup R&D costs ASAP and it sure ain't coming from shipiing 1 miner at a time from Shenjing!

I'd be happy to buy 100-200 Miners from Halong mining if they exist. Alot of us on this forum just doesn't like bragging about fortunes on the internet.

Edit: its stupid to know that they haven't contacted any of the old time miners to independently review and verify their gear. thats stupid as fuck

I post a lot  I have no where near what you have in gear.
I know  this forum would buy over 500 units from them if the gear was real.
To me  doing a preorder like this was a bad move.
It gave bitmain lots of warning if this is real gear.
Bitmain will simply lower the price on the s-9 to 800 usd about a month before these are shipped. Flood the market with hash  and the top dollar you paid for these will  make you feel stupid.
So if they had the gear they could have shipped a few demos out.  And said  they are testing no preorder yet.

They could have sent a capped unit   that did 11th but used 950 watts.

Then when it was ready they could have done a short 2 week preorder  with 16th 1200 watt units.
Would have sold like hotcakes and bitmain would have been surprised.

Instead they warn bitmain and them a lot of time to bust a move against them.

Bitmain bitch slapped  spondoolies a few years back.  I see that happening here if this gear really is shipped out.

They will be here tues and they will mine for

Dec Jan feb mar

So say 100 days at 24 a day

2400 earned back before the miner arrived.

And a few hundred for free heat.

It is why I won’t do a long preorder.

It strikes me as incredible that people send thousands of dollars to someone that just created a shitty website with no names, addresses or any other information of who is behind it.

Hi,

I have asked the developer to send a few units out to independent and trusted sources for testing and reviewing, if they ever do, it will be the best choice that company can make, if they don't, what are they hiding?

My point exactly.  Thank you

I have ordered over 300,000 in gear from various mining companies since 2012.

I have started more then 500 people in mining and taught them how not to get fucked  in the ass hard with no lube by a seller like this company.

No one in there right mind should preorder for march 31 shipping on gear that is not proven  yet this company has received millions in orders.

I personally would welcome a tester from them. I would run it and show it.  But here is my attitude.

I have avalons mining as I type.
I have s-9s mining as I type
I have s-9s coming sometime next week.

I have nvidia 1070's mining as I type
I have nvidia 1970 ti's mining as I type.
I have nvidia 1080 ti's mining as I type.
I have nvidia 1080 ti's coming next week.

Anyone  that mines should have some of the above before they buy from a complete unknown.

and here is why:

All the stuff above certainly makes good money

if the new gear is real  big if

if it comes on  time  march 31 ship april 5 delivery.

if it works and does not break

if it will do 16th at 1200 watts

bitmain can simply drop the price on the s-9  to 800 usd  and that is a better deal.

and trust me 800 usd still makes bitmain money.

To make things worse  this company has gone the worst route possible

Dec
Jan
Feb
Mar

about a 120 day presale

That is   Stupid unless one of four things
1) they figure a big crash in January
2) they are fully fake
3) they fear bitmain will make an s-11 in feb and it will kill this gear say 20th and 1200 watts for 1400
4) something I don't know that they do know

If they  want me I am here.
if they want Dabs  he is here.
if they want Haggs  here is here.

Lets see Syan they played around no gear nothing.
WhatsMiner M3 from pangolin reseller .  He sent me a demo unit.  I rated it ran it for 2 weeks and sold it at a small markup.  I paid 1200 usd and netted 1450 usd.
Panda miner first model Sent me a demo unit I rated it ran it for 2 months sold it at a small markup. netted around 200 profit.
S-5 demo from bitmain
avalon 4.1 demo from canaan.

at this point the creator of bitcoin (whomever he really is)  could tell me this gear is real  I would not preorder it and wait until april to get it.

the preorder is far too long.   Remember the d3's  long preorder dead coin.

bitmain can flood the market with cheap s-9s to kill value of this gear that is my single biggest complaint about a 120 day wait of the gear.

I will be sure to report here if I'll get forward with getting one demo unit for a review.

The latest information at the moment is that they are very limited with the prototype quantity.

Yeah..this guy seems to be plugging their side pretty hard, hell, there are folk here, THAT ARE PROVEN TRUSTWORTHY DOING ESCROW

that would likely if a miner showed up, would test it and if reasonably priced would then pay for it

I mean win/win/win for the mnfg (or why start the thread)

1) going to trusted member (proves it exists)

2) testing it and independent review (gives you a mess of sales)

3) trusted member on here..sends you a check (or the unit back at your discretion) after review

4) Great Publicity and a link to future sales using this thread and review

I mean it's too convenient that we got zip on these units....I still call SCAM....

when too many things line up on the mnfg favor, vs visibility of the product...it, IMHO, is most likely a scam!

prove me wrong, would like to see more than just bitmain products in the world with easy access here in the states....

hell, sell me one, I have enough trust on bitcointalk built up (hell, throw a rock in this thread and you could make quite the killing later on units

with just trusted members

again, I call scam....too little risk on the mnfg's end....all the risk at the buyer's end

later

Imo, they should allow a demo unit for philipma or dabs. It will be worth it and help their sales as it is.

Well, they dont have the transparency that Tesla Motors has...first of all
Second, they should realize that people have certain standards when it comes to online purchasing. Damn it...a online book store from europe has a better client support than this company that asks milions of dollars in advance for a product.
Either they are a scam as a whole or they are the most incompetent retards and dont understand how transparency in marketing works... wich also indicates the level of amateurism.
Anyway, every site that sells miners looke like it was built by 5 year old children.

bitcointalk AS A WHOLE on the other hand is significant - there are some large farm operators that hang out here, and probably some we don't know about that lurk rather than post.

Bad word of mouth has killed or help killed more than a few ASIC makers (can YOU say KNC? Butterfly Labs? Just for 2 examples where BAD PUBLICITY ABOUT ISSUES BADLY HANDLED cost the company big time).
