There were two slots available the 19th and the 20th, we couldn't make the 19th. I can send you the email

So you make the 20th, tomorrow, real for a demo meeting?
Or you dont go to any demo now?

It its 2 hours past the showing times they promised for demo day and not 1 scrap of information has come out.

There is no more "wait for demo day for news" demo day has come and gone and there is nothing.

I received the same response but was asked if I wanted to go meet in Miami on the 20th for "demonstration day" of their machine.

Read your own post. You said it was on Saturday the 20th.

People... I am the one that told everyone about the "Demo Day"

I was the only one with an invitation on here, and it was proven by the organizer of the event that Halong isn't invited.

The evidence is there. Why do people keep going back to Adam, is it so hard for you to understand how scams work. He can get payed in Bitcoin to promote the product, claim ignorance and there will never be a record that he was paid.

Once againScott is working directly for Halong under the email [email protected] .  If he is even a real person and not Halong itself.

Scott Offord also owns beepods.com according to his facebook. Looks like an established business.  Doesn't that have some credibility?

I have to admit, the blake2b "announcement" has made me skeptical. Sad That much more hashing power with less power consumption -- I don't think that's possible unless they had some kind of technology breakthrough, which is 99% unlikely... And they put it on the store front - "Blake2b miner. 3.5TH/s at 1000W -/+8% with 135 chips." with no info, pictures or anything.... Now, if they start taking orders for that, before any of the sha256 miners are delivered into peoples hands.... I may have to admit that I will likely loose $$$ for my order of 5.

remember sia coin MAY be forked...it may eventually be done USAF...but essentially from what I know the Sia-tech folk want asic miners for their anon cloud mining network that gov't's

can't access in its decentralized nature..and the coin is to be used for a secure asic network..they have said they will play games if bitmain tosses its weight around and fork the coin

in my view sia coin is ONLY valuable for this network ..in that even with the obelisk units they were gonna pump out 25% more coin PER MONTH into the network

thus ...they will fork the coin imho, due to the fact the money is in the above network at 1 buck to 10 buck amazon cloud prices...thus the devs bet

just saying

why I got the obelisk's back in the day, it was for the network and cloud mining anon features etc...NOT the sia coin price/pump and per usual

I've witnessed more than 100M$ being scammed off the people from this forum during 2013-2014. It's how this forum self defense works. You need to understand why is this happening to you. If you don't understand that it means that you don't understand part of your customers. Why bother to make your story credible so much since you are not taking any orders? Just wait until you ship or until you can show more tangible proof and stop wasting time.

That's rich coming from someone who shilled for the bankrupt Spoondoolies and rationalized their obnoxious spamming of the Custom Hardware sub.

Funny how when other ASIC makers go bankrupt it's all proof of scam and conspiracy, yet when *your* ASIC company goes bankrupt it's not.

You should stick to trolling BCashers on social media.  You're much better at that than understanding the complex nuances of PoW mining and ASIC manufacturing. Cheesy

Ladies & Gentleman, you all may safely ignore RoadStress' self-serving opinions about which ASICs are and are not legit.  He is clearly incapable of distinguishing between the two in a consistent, objective manner.

What's the issue with being bankrupt? From what I recall the company that you shilled for (HashFast) also went bankrupt with the difference that they scammed around 50M$ and delivered only ~400 working miners to a couple of customers. The rest of the customers never saw their money back. Spondoolies delivered all units in their promised spec. Tell me who was scammed by Spondoolies and for how many miners.

Also I have stated that I have pre-ordered 5 Dragons and that I have a clean record of not being scammed in the pre-order mining game.

Why do people keep going back to Adam

I kind of want to quote myself from way earlier in this thread where I asked everyone why his claims backing them gave them any credibility at all.

Should we start another fun thread about when their magical blake2b miner comes out with its 10x increase in speed over anyone else? I mean thats gotta be totally legit right?

Halong may very well have every intention of trying to create an actual miner so this is not the typical run away with the money scam. However they are completely deceptive in their tactics.

This just sparked an idea in my mind... the initial conversation about Halong having $30 Million in development funds is backed by zero data. Whomever those investors are, nobody knows. Maybe the investment never happened.

However... they started taking orders in November. They probably raised $10-$15M doing THAT, and gave themselves until April to figure it out. They're TRYING to make a miner, and have six months to pull it off using the pre-order money. Maybe seven months if they announce an unexpected problem, or "yield issue" with the wafers or some other such excuse. Maybe the pull it off, maybe they don't.

In the video, people swore they were looking at an S9. In the photos, people swear its an Innosilicon product. They used whatever was available to generate their buzz. Prototypes, they'll say. Keyword in SkyLakeMine's post above... "intention" -- they're scrambling to make it happen? Who knows.

Yes. I think you got my general idea.

We are at the end of January and production orders are supposed to be out by end of March/beginning of April at latest. 8 Weeks!!!
Does someone know the lead times for these types of machines? It has to be several months or a couple quarters?

We have no demo machines. No concrete specifications. Just one machine that Scott keeps under wraps.

And Halong is busy making marketing announcements about their next machines that will compete with Bitmain A3? Really. WTF!!!!

They should be focused like a laser beam on making mining machines and delivering them.
If they were a real company they would be focused on the task at hand. They have priorities all wrong. That's why I say they are a scam.

Stop the senseless marketing crap and get the job done. That's the only way they can make this right.

I still think this could be the next bitcoinconnect type Ponzi disaster....so I agree with you.....now with the announcement of a blake2b (siacoin)

miner..I am even a bit more dubious.....

I think this thread is pretty entertaining. Such passion oneway or the other, ALL is based on minimal facts and LOTS of guessing. We may have more information later this month (the Miami demos) to drive further speculation one way or the other... But until the March/April/May timeframe, we are all just speculating... Only time will tell if this is real or a scam.

In the mean time -- keep this entertainment train running and invest everyhting in LTCGear and GAW Miners!

The video was taken in the office of Slushpool together with Jan Braiins (the CEO of Slushpool).
Why they should do a fake video? It is 100% confirmed by him.

Tbh that's the only thing which keeps my hopes up at the moment.

Maybe Adam Back lied to us, but both slush & Adam? C'mon that's highly unlikely.

Slush and Back have similar interests and are intellectually compatible.
https://slushpool.com/news/adam-back-in-prague/
Slush is always liking Back's tweets
And Slush will never mine BCH.

And there are miners coming online who will only be mining BCH
http://coingeek.com/bitcoin-bch-entrepreneur-calvin-ayre-goes-mining/

There are 2 camps.
BTC = Back,Blockstream,BTC Core devs,Slush, etc. But they had no hardware miners. So they needed Halong.
BCH = Craig Wright,Ayres,Roger Ver with his bitcoincom pool,Via exchange with its BCH base trading pairs and Bitmain to provide the mining hardware

The bottom line is that BTC camp needed a hardware miner to thwart Bitmain. Thus was Halong born.

If you believe that Bitmain is truly evil and you believe they pose an existential threat to your lively-hood then you will do anything to stop them. Yes, even setting up elaborate shell companies like Halong, taking money from the unwary to funnel into your anti-Wu marketing campaign. The end justifies the means.

The $200K from Back may have been just an initial funding for Halong operations that was not his personal money. It could have been Blockstream funds earmarked for marketing anyway so its not new money. Its just the same money with a public announcement to get attention. It happens ALL THE TIME in the corporate and government world.

People have to connect the dots and realize when they are being played.

Scam or not? Here is a test, somebody should do a partial or full refund of their order. If it is a legit company, one would reasonably assume they would refund the money. There are enough people lining up to by the machines, they will not be left holding inventory, if the machines are real.

You must be new to Deadwood!  Refund in the mining hardware business LOLOLOLOL not very often and not likely from Halong.

From their site:  https://halongmining.com/terms-of-sale/

Cancellation

All sales are final. No refunds or cancellations are possible after payment has been made. Be sure you wish to order before placing your order to avoid buyer’s remorse.
