What I just totally do not understand: why are the dogecoin devs not doing anything with new features in dogecoin. Like making it a POS coin or whatever? I see other coins moving from POW to POS or creating some functionallity that atracts people to the coin.

Doge has the same trend as Litecoin.

I agree, the days of the Scrypt crapcoins are coming to an end. Only a complete fool would be investing in mining equipment of any kind at this point.

Even Litecoin isn't going anywhere, which is not surprising as it offers absolutely nothing over Bitcoin!

BTC and LTC have gone and are heading further into mainstream where average joes are completely indifferent to mining. LTC is now pretty much tied to BTC, maybe in short pumps other coins get close but none will unseat this pair longterm.

Add to that most the whales are mainly in BTC/LTC where nothing outside this pair comes on their radar, rest are for the crypto sheep and pump n dump scamers.

Yeah, that's a serious argument, but in my personal opinion, the whales are only tied to Bitcoin, and Litecoin is seen as an 'alt'.

See, when one searches and takes interest in Litecoin, they also see other alts. There's no reason why they should not. Soon they discover the flee market and the infinite profit they can make through it. Some invest some don't.
I think you're also ignoring the utility that has been developed around LTC though. Speculators will be drawn to the quick money that alts attempt to "promise" (i.e. scams).

Some crypto-currencies are taking the steps to shed the speculative label and developing the needed infrastructure to be considered transactable just like BTC. [Of course though, let's be honest, even BTC is still considered as a speculative tool by the mainstream and frankly a lot of holders of BTC.] Sure they could still be "scams," but frankly the amount of effort for possible payoff tends to scale towards not being worth it.

Litecoin does not have that much of a brand value, not that many merchants accept it. It's mostly limited to exchanges.

The real merchant acceptance lies with BTC. There's no comparison between BTC and LTC.

Also many alts like PPC, Doge, etc... are not considered scam.

Oh poor OP with literally no idea how crypto economy works.
But i have to admit that it was amusing to read.
Quote my words for future. Litecoin will hit 50 $ within a year or in worst case 2 years.

Oh poor you with literally no idea how crypto economy works.
But i have to admit that it was amusing to read.
Quote my words for future. Litecoin will hit 0.1 $ within a year or in worst case 2 years.

Quoting for future.

Done, let's see what happens.

Well, actually not $0.1, but it'll drop by 50% at least.

So you "slightly" miscalculated before? About by a 5000% ? Allright then. Pro predictions.

That was sarcasm, but looking at these --

One may like to bet on 0.1

Scrypt-n is nothing different from Scrypt, so their claims are realistic.

Wait, do what now???

Yacoin (originator of scrypt N BTW Wink ) is currently at Nf 15. Obviously technology changes, but I can't imagine that if someone threw a billion dollars at the prospect of creating an ASIC for Yacoin that it would be possible even if we still had the temporary marketcap from last week :-)

fpga for x13 maybe be possible already but i doubt?

also asic for scrypt-n is another fake one, with no proof

anyway there are still other algo like hefty1/nist/jha ecc...

Be it x13, or x99 FPGA is always possible, but as the no. of algos increase, ASICs become more difficulty to make.

FPGA/GPU will require more memory with this coins, otherwise there's no reason why they shouldn't be able to mine them.

Quark/Prime algo on the other hand require decision making so they perform much slower on FPGA/GPU.

Momentum algo just uses high amount of memory to prevent FPGA and GPU; which's counter productive actually, and such a thing does not require skills. But for the same reason it's ASIC friendly, cause ASIC can have a large amount of cheap specialized memory and it's cores can be designed just for the algo.

Scrypt-n is nothing different from Scrypt, so their claims are realistic.

So OP may I ask what coin algo are you holding or mining?

Well, surprisingly I hold a lot of Scrypt coins.

MY RED TRUST LEFT BY SCUMBAGS - READ MY SIG
Quark? Quark is nothing. Quark can not be compared with Vertcoin. No strong community and is already mostly mining . I sold  over 600000 Quark. Vertcoin is the ASIC resistant and will be ASIC resistant. Vertcoin team will do everything any necessary changes algorithm to be resistant ASIC (if need be).

LOL that is quite funny. If you are going with the market as it is now, you are WAY more likely to make big bucks buying QRK than vert. Most people have no clue of what the qrk team are working on outside of the usual crypto channels.

The coin tech is but 1 part of the success of a coin.

Also i see there being no further scrypt coins created. LTC and DOGE will be the only ones left, all the scrypt asics ordered and produced in future will mine those until the end. I see no reason for their price to fall from here. All depends on services and adoption. LTC will become what is was created to become the scrypt version of BTC. Nobody will mine those with gpu now.

All future coins distributed by POW mined by gpu will adopt new algos

In the future POW may vanish altogether who knows.
