Can you quit gambling if you make a life changing money and never go back to gambling?

I asked this because those who made some money through gambling near me always go back to gamble and they end up losing everything they once made through gambling.

Is it fine to say that people should not go back into gambling once they made high amount of money? Because the chance of losing that money again is very high, even if they don't use all the money to gamble at once, gambling can take it all back in time.

Have you ever won a high amount of money from gambling and managed to not lose them all back to gambling? And to date, you are still gambling?

Would I still be tempted to gamble, even though I made a life changing decision not to gamble, ever again? Even if that meant I had made enough money to last me 1000 lifetimes?

The answer to that question might be a bit irrational.

I think that even though we all here think we ultimately have full control over ourselves and our desires, the simple and unshakeable truth is: We are only human. And being human comes with a loss of control.

I like gambling and I do enjoy it, as many of you do. And having made it into an enjoyable hobby, I do not think I could resist the temptation and never gamble again. Because at some point, I would give in my urges.

It is true that we as good human beings also need some fun, but sometimes it is difficult because many do not know healthy fun and that includes being able to control emotions and performing many functions, including putting everything on a scale, not go crazy, and control impulses above all, when we play we have many impulses and that is what leads us to make bad decisions.

If we had the coldness of a robot to manage our own emotions, we would be very advanced beings and with many things that we can achieve, but it is difficult, very difficult to control emotions, and even though it is something we can do ourselves, we get into our minds that we are invincible when we play and that is when we lose the most money.

I agree, we do sometimes get into a particular mindset of being invincible because we manage to convince ourselves of that fact by manipulating ourselves emotionally. But that again only goes to show that no matter how faultless and amazing we human beings think ourselves to be, in the end, we are still quite fragile when it comes to matters of the mind.

So that being said, I think nobody who makes gambling losses should be too hard on themselves and they should remember that making such bad decisions is all a part of being human.

Next time they think about taking huge risks, they will remember what happened to them the last time, so in a way making such mistakes can be a good life lesson.

OP if they always go back after making a huge sum of money then maybe it could be considered that they're  addicts or gradually developing an addiction for it, and we all know that an addiction is very difficult to quit and the addiction of gambling is not exempted as well, however even if it's not advisable let's not forget the fact that many people still see gambling as a means of earning even if it considered a side hustle, maybe those people are confident of the strategy they used in winning the previous one and are comfortable with trying again to see if luck is still on their side or they're are trying to make your money with the one they've earned, the fact that people made life changing money from gambling is not a criteria to quit there are many circumstances that could drag them back, like
The love of the game
Eagerness to earn more money due to greed or so
Using it as a form of entertainment during leisures
There are some person who prefer saying on online gambling sites, etc.

Can you quit gambling if you make a life changing money and never go back to gambling?

the word Quitting stands for two things , to quit aiming to become rich and enjoy gambling , or to continue seek more winning after that luckiest day of life.

it is hypocrite to say that I will completely leave gambling after the win because that memory will always cling in my mind to try or bet again so nope , I will not abandoned gambling but I will put limit time and money each gambling day.

That is correct.Once you hit it big, that memory will haunt you at least until you get back to gamble again. In terms of quitting it is much easier to really quit once you have had a really bad day in gambling and these days are like alarm bells that reminds you of something,in this case that it is worthless to continue gambling, you could have used that money in a much better way then throwing it all out in the casino.

Usually when people take a decision on these days to quit gambling they usually succeed,in here I also include myself when I hit a super huge loss one day I promised to stop and I rarely play very little money now.

Agree with you because usually, after we get a big win, we will stop gambling while enjoying the results. But our memories will keep returning to that victory so that it makes us want to do it again, and eventually, we return to gambling because we want to win again. And if anyone can stop gambling after getting a win, he should feel grateful because he can earn a lot of money to make ends meet and change his life for the better. But this rarely happens with gambling winners because many keep returning to gambling.
Of course in a very good way, if we get big wins from gambling, we have to enjoy the results by going on vacation or buying something expensive so it's not in vain.
because otherwise the money will just run out and many have experienced that most people who win from gambling are out of shape or don't enjoy it, so buying something expensive or investing is a great way. And if later we want to start again, start again without using the winnings we got before and this is a smart gambler.

I think there is a thread that would be more helpful for others that wanted to find way quitting or at least to limit their gaming and losses?

here I will share for better understanding

Things we must do to stop gambling according to experts:
Quote
1. Recognize the problem
2. Remove the stigma
3. Confide in a love one
4. Seek professional health
5. Adjust as needed
Source: https://www.forbes.com/health/mind/how-to-stop-gambling-expert-advice/

Now, if you still want to gamble but you don't want to become addicted to it, one of the things you should do in my opinion is:

1. Only set aside an amount of money that you will use to gamble in a casino.
2. Don't think that you will gamble to make money, because if you do that, you will surely have a problem later.
3. Just spend a few hours staying in a casino to gamble so you can avoid what you don't realize is wasting time that you should be spending on important things instead of gambling.

It may be hard t apply but once you succeeded then maybe you will find relief in all your gambling burden.

I kinda agree with you mate, but then, also do not forget the fact that gambling addiction comes in different levels, and depending on the level of the addiction, that will tell what such person can do and not do.
For example, some one who is just mildly addicted to gambling, a self discipline, and focusing on other things that is outside gambling can help heal such individual, that if such individual can continue doing that for a specific period of time, he or she can easily come out from his gambling addiction.

But for someone  who the addiction has eaten deep into his or her system, it's a different thing altogether, such people are the ones who need the help of a specialist.
Meeting someone to come to your aides, it's a good move to make things easier for us, we don't push pressures rather we absorb them and convert them into something favorable for our demands. For us to stop gambling, we must make significant choices, which will be uncomfortable in the beginning but will get less challenging with time; this is the starting point of the gambling system. We will never be capable to discontinue gambling except we take disciplinary measures, and it weakens us every day. Gambling is dangerous; perhaps it is up to us to decide whether to keep going or discontinue. However, I would choose the decision that would benefit me in the system.

It is also very important to know the period of time a person has been addicted, as someone that is just starting out can recover relatively quickly with the right and timely treatment, however if a person has been addicted for years or even a decade it is almost impossible to help them to make a full recovery, as they have spent so much time of their lives with their addiction that they do not know what it is to live their lives without it, and as such any significant recovery is unlikely.

it would be easier to have other alternatives to vent his addiction to have fun in other ways. I mean like when I run out of my gambling budget I will play video games that make me forget the thought of gambling.
maybe this method is not very guaranteed, but I have done it myself and feel that video games can be an alternative to slowly forget about gambling.
Anything that could help you to get your mind out of gambling for a time is fine, so not only video games are an option but any other recreational activity you may like as there are many hobbies out there which are incredibly cheap on their nature or sometimes completely free, this way you can still get a similar amount of entertainment while reducing the amount of money you dedicate to gambling at the same time, hobbies which will also help you to not think about gambling as much as you did before and make it easier for you to quit, if that is what you want.

I agree with this. There are many ways to enjoy and to entertain yourself without breaking the bank. You can have any hobby that will be beneficial to you at the same time or just bring you pure happiness with nothing in return but satisfaction. This way, you can divert your attention from other things aside from gambling and reduce your expenses that you can allocate to the necessities or other form of recreational activity. It will be up to you whether you will dwell on gambling or not. The choice is entirely yours to decide. And the level of difficulty will depend on your discipline.
It's easy to talk about discipline and various hobbies when you don't have a gambling addiction. Not if a person has a gambling problem, these things don't matter to them. It is an addiction like alcohol, nicotine or drugs. That is, it is not possible without the help of specialists to just do something else to stop gambling.

And also sometimes even there's already a help from professionals if the will, to stay away from the addiction is not present
it's still tough to resolve this problem.

There's always an opinion or self-explanation from each gambler, but if addiction is already present, things are very different from those who
are just playing around to earn entertainment.

Self-will and the help of professionals together with the support of your love ones, things that are very important if addiction is
already present.
You should really be needing to follow up these steps.

1. Self realization
if this one fails....
2. Ask help from your family or friends
if this one fails..
3. Seek for professional help
is this one fails...

Then you would really be putting up  yourself into huge problem or trouble. You could actually be able to avoid up these things if you are really that strong willed on quitting up gambling for good.
It would really be that impossible for a certain individual on for you not to think or able to determine which good and bad on the things that you've been doing. If you do see that you are financially
been devastated and you are already compromising other things then it would really be that ideal that you should really quit gambling for good and dont make things even more worst.

I acknowledge my time and make certain that it gets utilized on something more meaningful than gambling. Gambling, in my opinion, is not my calling; I frequently try to make predictions on games and breeze up losing. We gamble to be able to profit from the system; unfortunately, not all of us profit; most of us become addicted and experience streak losses. Gambling is easy and uncomplicated for those gamblers who understand how to navigate the market, but it is difficult and upsetting for others. We should do what works for us rather than following the crowd.
Indeed, it is better for us to realize what gambling means to us so that we will not chase victory and gamble moderately. However, we may find it difficult to get money from gambling and it differs from people because our luck is different from theirs. We need to learn to control ourselves so we don't cross the line and use more money to get victory. And if we have good self-control, we will value time so that when we are almost up to our appointed time to gamble, we will be ready to leave the casino. We may return a few days later but won't cross that line. So that will be easy to quit for us without any problem.

it would be easier to have other alternatives to vent his addiction to have fun in other ways. I mean like when I run out of my gambling budget I will play video games that make me forget the thought of gambling.
maybe this method is not very guaranteed, but I have done it myself and feel that video games can be an alternative to slowly forget about gambling.
That's why we have other activities to divert our minds from wanting to gamble so that we will move on to other things after playing enough gambling. And these other activities aim to avoid the problem of gambling addiction experienced by many gamblers out there. We can do many other activities instead of just gambling every day and without stopping so that we can control ourselves in gambling. With continuous practice, we can avoid gambling and not think about it.

It's impossible to stop gambling once we start; that's just how the system works. In my opinion, video games match the responsibilities to minimize gambling in another dimension, not everyone enjoys playing games, I would rather hang out, enjoy going to the movies or taking a good stroll with appropriate music headphones. Addiction can only be lessened to a manageable level if we engage in recreational activities to relieve the tension or regrets of gambling. We felt bad about our conduct at times, but we did not possess any other choice except to gamble.

As someone who is not a gambling enthusiast, I can assert that quitting gambling can be remarkably straightforward. Merely stepping out of the confines of my home and engaging with others allows me to break free from the clutches of betting. However, if I were someone of substantial wealth, the more discretionary funds I possess, the greater influence it has on my inclination towards gambling. Naturally, my disposition towards indulging in gambling depends on the circumstances surrounding me. If there are alternative activities that can divert my attention and prevent me from gambling, I would gladly abstain from it.
A person who gambles or does not gamble too much should have other activities to block his thoughts about gambling. This helps a person overcome the urge to gamble to determine when they will gamble and when to stop gambling. And even though you don't have a lot of money, you can calmly play and stop gambling, especially if you are very rich with lots of activities. It will make you feel and think that you really value time so that when you are gambling, you won't be gambling for too long because you have other activities that you have to do. We see that quitting gambling is easy but not for others. So those who see quitting gambling as difficult must be able to study hard to get out of gambling easily.
it would be easier to have other alternatives to vent his addiction to have fun in other ways. I mean like when I run out of my gambling budget I will play video games that make me forget the thought of gambling.

Try to divert out yourself into other activities which it is really indeed true that there are things which it could really distract you on playing gambling once again but i would say that it would really be just that hard on doing

so specially if addiction towards gambling is severe then there's no other things that you do have in mind but to gamble. The only key for you to quit up is on the time that you dont have funds or money on your pocket or account for you to do so. Usually people would really be stopping on playing gambling on the time  that they would really be completely be wrecked out with gambling. This is why on the time that we would really be
engaging into this kind of activity then we should really be that wary on making ourselves that potential addiction could really happen. This is why it would be better that we should
play gambling for fun and leisure and not for making income because thats not how it should be in the first place.

I mean like when I run out of my gambling budget I will play video games that make me forget the thought of gambling.
maybe this method is not very guaranteed, but I have done it myself and feel that video games can be an alternative to slowly forget about gambling.
