I absolutely agree with you. Self-control plays a very important role and not only in gambling. I think the first thing you need to learn every gambler is to control your desires and money. Until I have not acquired these skills gambling led me several times to large losses. After I learned how to limit myself, I physically cannot lose more money than I originally expected.
Controlling our own ambitions, requirements, and desires, as well as developing a legitimate source of consistent income rather than settling for gambling. It's genuine, self-control comes first; it's all about us, what we need, how much time we need, and what stimulates us to want something. Limits oneself from participating in some gambling activities, and always avoid anything that will put one under pressure, because this alone sends a clear message that what we are doing is completely wrong, and it is not wise to continue any farther.

Only smart people may understand the mentioned factors to learn from their mistakes, not everyone is capable of holding these qualities as gambling is very addictive. Pressure is not something they can avoid since there are many psychological conditions that affect their mindset. It is hard to quit because of emotional damage to mental heath, the rest comes later.

There was a case I read recently of a very famous person in entertainment, always a gambler to the point of spending a little too much.  When they got success in their career, gambling the same amount no longer worked for them as a high especially so they started gambling into the millions and reached the same point of not having any money sometimes despite being known nationally and selling so much.    Its easy to quit if you find something better, intense & occupying over time spent gambling, success in business and career was not enough for this person.   I would suggest Kart racing or anything will be cheaper then a bad habit of spending too much so that means alot of doors are open to try to find an alternative high to just a plain gamble.    I've also heard of lottery winners who keep playing and a few who win twice amazingly.

Your take - that treating gambling akin to a pastime necessitating resources - is thought-provoking. Yet, it somewhat bypasses the risks of gambling addiction. The excitement of gambling lies in its unpredictability, but this same factor can be its peril. Uncertainty breeds hope, hope for that ultimate winning hand.

Your view of disregarding long-term losses is intriguing. While it reduces emotional strain, acknowledging losses is essential for financial prudence. Though your standpoint of seeing gambling as leisure is fascinating, we can't overlook the potential financial and psychological repercussions. Even as a hobby, gambling requires keen awareness and restraint to prevent addiction

So, what do you think Dude. if, we don't want any risk, the most ideal answer is not to gamble. We are aware that gambling carries risks. because to play it, we need a tool to bet. by risking money, it means we are quite prepared for the risk of defeat. if, we calculate the long-term loss. that means, we are playing with our own minds. why, if it is detrimental, it is better not to gamble at all. yes, it's that simple isn't it. because in gambling, it is risky even the probability of winning that we have is smaller than the ratio of defeat. "in this case, betting on a purely luck based game".

Well, if basically we or I gamble intensely every week. let's take football as an example, in a week, there are 3 matches with different leagues and we bet on them. the question is, aren't we indicated to be gambling addicts? one more thing, this is very interesting, the joy of gambling lies in its unpredictability and uncertainty breeds hope. and if gambling is certain, should we call it gambling. and if, we play for fun, what is the definition of having fun than gambling, isn't it getting the win from the gaming session.

Well, regarding hobbies, we can apply them to other things. for example, I have another hobby to travel around the world. this hobby, will be very draining of money. then, do we have to count the money we have spent to be a loss. I guess, the definition of a hobby is not like that. but because it's a gamble, like I said. it does not mean that in every session we will just let our money just disappear, even as you say, gambling requires high awareness and responsibility and we agree on this one. that way, we can control ourselves and even the money we have to sacrifice for this one hobby. after all, from every gambling session that we do, it's not always that defeat always covers us. especially in football, because this bet involves insight and knowledge. by the way, I am happy to discuss and exchange opinions with you.

Quiting is a difficult task that can be hard for us to fulfill but with time, what give us the money will also call us to come back and make bets again for us to make more money. Gambling is not easy to quit even though we are nit making anything from it. We might keep having the believe that surely one day we are going to make the crazy profits of our life. Those who have successfully quitted gambling are the discipline ones since everyone of us may have some certain level of discipline in us.

If quitting will give peace and ways to restrategize a gambling skills and winning rate, it wouldn't bad to give it a shot, remember they a ram that goes back went back to prepare to come back strong. At some point in life, quitting is also part of winning but it's unfortunate how some people see it as a shame which is very bad to think that way. In gambling, I don't think there is anything bad in giving in a break particularly when lost is been observed many times, it will save you time and money instead of putting those money on unnecessary games, it's better you called it a day and then comes back another, even the expert out there also know when to quit and knows when to give it a break.

Gamblers lose not because of emotions but house edge, so comparing the different equations should be filtered by well-known factors. Every gambler is not mentally healthy, so it is understandable why some gamblers even lose their life savings in a day. Making bad decisions is ok in gambling websites but people should be able to learn how it works and why they have to limit losses before it becomes too late. Thanks to today's online banking opportunities, it is now possible to lose more than your life savings, unfortunately.

Every time we forget our losses and come back to gambling again and again, this thing may lead to gambling addiction. In order for you not to become addicted, you should think over your losses in gambling and this might be one way where you will refrain from putting extra money in gambling because you will care about your losses and money.

Anyways, no matter if you lose or win, it's too hard to quit gambling. Once you are used to gambling, you will find your life empty if you do not gamble.
In fact, a win will be more interesting than a loss, this is what makes gamblers subconsciously return to do it again. Most of them will not care too much about the defeats they experience, at all times they will only think of ways on how they can win in this game without even thinking that they have lost a lot in order to achieve a victory that doesn't know when it will come. The self-control factor in fact will not have too much influence to limit someone in gambling, when they have been controlled by emotions due to defeat then whatever they will do to satisfy their desires, one of which is to put out everything they have to bet on and they could even steal.
What do you mean by self-control will not be too influential to limit someone to gamble?
Do you really understand that actually this self-control is very important to slightly limit gamblers from continuing to chase their losses.
Because without self-control, of course we will always be emotional and always chase defeat by spending all the money in our savings

Self control
Emotion handling
Discipline
Risk management

Does play an important role when it comes to this on which there's no way that it would really be neglected out on the time that you would really be involving yourself into gambling.
We arent that dumb nor blind not to see on what are the imposed risks that we could have on the time we do touch up this space. On the time that you are spending that much then what would be the next thing to do?
Simply stop or quit to avoid more losses, but what most people been doing on this state? They do play even more because they are really that trying out to break even on what they have lost
which is the most dumbest idea to have in mind. Somewhat it might really that easy to say on quitting but we know that not all people would really be that having the good control
towards themselves but we know that once we do really have that good control of our minds then everything would really happen according into your own awareness.

I believe whether self-control has an effect to a gambler or not depends on the level of control of a gambler over himself.  It is true that self-control won't have an effect to a gambler that has no sense of self-discipline and just goes with the flow of his game, while self-control has an exponential effect if the person has strong will and strong self-discipline.  In short, the effectiveness of self-control is depending on the will and discipline of a gambler.   Though we cannot deny the importance of self-control in preventing a person from being addicted.

I believe in order to make use of self-control one must know his situation, surroundings, and atmosphere of the game.  It would be easier for a person to implement self-control if he is aware of what he is doing and had established the knowledge about the pros and cons of gambling.  This way a gambler will know the importance of self-control and will exert more effort in implementing it during his gambling session.

People can make money from gambling but they must know that to be able to earn money from gambling is not easy. And also, they must be aware that gambling can actually eat up all their money and even everything they have if they have become addicted to gambling. And when they are addicted to gambling, it will be even more difficult to cure it. Gambling can indeed change their lives to have money but they should not use gambling because there are still others who can provide a way for them to make money.
i quite often hear about people going bankrupt because of their gambling addiction, even when they are really abandoned by their families because they no longer have money and are only a burden to the family.  Quitting from an activity that we have been doing for quite a long time is really not easy, but if it has damaged your lifestyle, family harmony and also your financial condition then quitting gambling is what you have to do.
there are many examples of current gamblers and former gamblers that we can make reference to.  Gambling is just entertainment and stress relief, don't make it your main source of income and routine activities.

The first time getting addicted to a casino or gambling I guess is the hardest to quit. But once a person gets to pass it, it will be easier the 2nd time or 3rd.
It's kind of first heartbreak, once you've moved on all the rest of the girls are easy to forget. Grin
That is because experience matters. The more experience you have acquired, more skilled you will become when solving an issue on that kind of situation. It's like your brain already knows how to deal with that issue causing less damage to you as possible. I don't know, but maybe we could name it a defense mechanism we have in ourselves which prevent us from suffering more yet and harming our emotional, social and financial aspects.

However, as you said, it's everything about the personality of the person. And it seems some personalities tend to attract suffering instead of repeling that. So they are never able to get rid of problems on their lives. They are constantly getting more and more close to them...

Can you quit gambling if you make a life changing money and never go back to gambling?

I asked this because those who made some money through gambling near me always go back to gamble and they end up losing everything they once made through gambling.
If a gambler wins high money, they can easily stop gambling and establish themselves, but when a addicted gambler wins much money, they will end up going back to gambling so that they will increase their money, human being are not being satisfied when it comes to money, they will believe they will keep on winning if they gamble with the previous money they won, but gradually they will be losing till they waste everything again. Most addicted gamblers that win from gambling are always ending up spending it on gambling back.

Is it fine to say that people should not go back into gambling once they made high amount of money?
Its possible but very difficult, if you are determine to stop gambling, you can do it but its not really easy, the set of people that will even find it very difficult to stop are the once that are addicted, people that gamble just for fun can easily stop gambling whenever the want, highest they will get another thing doing that's going to replace gambling.

I really think it's about the personality of a person. When I was a teen I already felt like I got addicted to gambling where my friends do it all the time in their backyard playing for pennies.
I got over it. So every time, my friends bring me back to gamble I can do it and tomorrow I can already forget my loss. Never chasing the loss.

I agree with this.

Gambling is a risky hobby and a risky source of income if you will try to make it as one. It can cost you so much before you can eventually earn and profit. It could also lead you to being addicted to the point you're willing to bypass your financial capabilities just to be able to satisfy your gambling habits. And once you fall for that temptation, it will be a bad situation on your end. You can be burdened up by pile of debts, lose time for your loved ones, disregard your responsibilities, and even make enemies in the process.

Environmental factors will be very influential in this case, most likely they first learned about gambling, namely from their friends who then made them curious to at least try it once in a while. Most of those who experience addiction when they first try and then get a win, then after that their mind will change and they will find it very easy to make money here. This is one of the beginnings of addiction for gamblers. Someone who is already at the point of their addiction will be willing to do anything to fulfill their desire to gamble, and sometimes it is not uncommon for them to justify any means to get the money to be at stake in gambling.

Additionally, it will be hard to quit too because once you are used to with the routine, you will end up in a bargaining stage with yourself and perhaps even relapse.

I think it will be very difficult for those who are addicted to get out of that zone because they have turned gambling into something very fun for happiness and the curiosity about winning will always haunt their minds.

Can you quit gambling if you make a life changing money and never go back to gambling?

I asked this because those who made some money through gambling near me always go back to gamble and they end up losing everything they once made through gambling.

Is it fine to say that people should not go back into gambling once they made high amount of money? Because the chance of losing that money again is very high, even if they don't use all the money to gamble at once, gambling can take it all back in time.

Have you ever won a high amount of money from gambling and managed to not lose them all back to gambling? And to date, you are still gambling?
There are many individuals who claim gambling as their profession. But I was very interested in gambling last few months and once I bet a small amount of money to gamble. And I won that bet a few times and my gambling addiction worked. One time I saved a good amount of money by gambling but later I lost all the money again. I've made money gambling a few times but never got the money but lost it all by re-betting. But when a person gambles and wins a high amount of money, then he becomes more addicted and eventually becomes more deeply addicted to gambling. He then goes back to gambling to earn more money. But I've gambled and lost more times than I've made money. I have now taken a break from gambling due to excessive gambling losses. And I can't predict whether I will gamble in the future.

This also means that if you truly believe that gambling will change your life, you have that addictive behavior that is pulling you.

That doesn't mean you are addicted to gambling because there are people who believe they can make money through gambling, and they have been successful. It's only wrong if it's impossible to make money in gambling, and yet we still pursue it. If you are addicted to gambling, that means you can't control yourself anymore, and once you are out of control, there's no way you'll win.
People can make money from gambling but they must know that to be able to earn money from gambling is not easy. And also, they must be aware that gambling can actually eat up all their money and even everything they have if they have become addicted to gambling. -snip-
No person will be contented with what he has. A person who have more wealth he needs more to increase wealth. So even if a gambler gains a lot of money in gambling, he cannot stop gambling. But it totally depends on a gambler whether he quits gambling or not. Since people take gambling for entertainment purposes, it must be difficult to give up. With responsible gambling it will not be a problem if you do not abandon the gambling platform. But naturally addressing, it is certainly somewhat difficult to abandon.

Therefore, it is not surprising that many gamblers eventually become addicted to gambling and cannot control their urge to gamble. They keep promising themselves to stop, but when they win they will think about playing just one more time, and so on. It makes many gamblers trapped in a vicious circle and it is difficult to get out of this circle because they become addicted and it is difficult to control themselves not to gamble anymore.
It is true that a gambler becomes addicted to gambling unconsciously. His main aim is to win but when he loses he can't take a break. From that moment his downfall began. If a gambler is able to take his breaks by himself, then he is not addicted. A gambler can recover before becoming addicted but once he get addicted there is no recovery. If a gambler wants to avoid big losses then he must conduct gambling within certain limits.
