There will be fees. Don't listen to spammers. Theyll probably do one of the following:

Add 5% into your original purchase
Add 5% to the exchange rate from Fiat->BTC
Add a hidden fee somewhere to make them money

Typical PayPal.

Why do you think ebay and paypal has such a ridiculous fee not because they want you to pay. They also want to earn money also for big companys is just a couple of cents enough they also want more. So dont blame on them everybody wants to make money.

Ok PAypal/ Ebay makes their money from the fees they charge but in bitcoin there is no fee and it is better for the consumers to trade with bitcoins rather than paypal. Since Paypal/Ebay has now competition with bitcoins, they not only have to reduce their fee but also need to improve their  services.

Yes, they dont make any/little money off of using btc so how is it fair to them, they make no money we get no products simple as that we cannot batter at them for not getting a little bit of money for their services.

They are starting to have ridiculous fees though it is getting way too high.

Why cannot Paypal charge the customers if they use bitcoin. There should be no difference beween using fiat or bitcoin.

Well I got a transaction with paypal that I'm going to transfer my paypal funds to my bank account, but what happened was paypal, reversed my transaction, even though I have complete details they cancelled my transaction and charged me somewhat about $5 I think.
And that's unfair for the users of paypal, but I complained with the email support and they returned my money.

Sell an item on ebay for $100, actually receive $86

Remind me why there's no good bitcoin auction websites since Bitmit again?

i have to say that other sites, steam and others have 4-16% fees when selling something too so this is not surprise that ebay have 16% fees too, they have to earn somehow

but thing that surprises me that paypal sometimes also have fees, my friend from other country sent me money and i got around 80% only of that amount, so their fees are even larger

yes, ebay and of course sometimes paypal ( when you send to other people in different countries sometimes) have huge fees usually, around 15% and i think that that's a lot

and these large fees is main reason why i don't use paypal anymore, and i started to use bitcoins and sites like openbazaar instead of ebay, because they don't have fees like that

This is why I love bitcoin. 13.2% Huh Ouch !! What did I break?

But that fee includes the Ebay fee of 10%. That is something you have to pay regardless you use bitcoin or not.

Yeah if you only sell occasionally its not worth it, the cheapest one is like $16/month if you sign up for a full year, or $20/month if you go month to month.

I think you also have to sell a certain amount of items to have a store on eBay,

Paypal gonna die..their payment methods & system is 20 years behind the times. Ebay...meh..surely it cant be that hard to hack up a similar site that dont use fucking paypal...

I'm really surprised no-one done it yet considering how much people generally hate paypal and ebay and despise their fees...there's a fortune to be made there potentially for someone with balls and cash....

Someone was playing around with the idea of cBay for crypto as only payment method. They would have to offer some kind of escrow service if they want to keep both buyer and sellers happy. No more fake chargebacks after someone uses the product or breaks it Smiley

Its why I usually just move onto selling it locally 1st if I can.

And accept it for cash like on craigslist or something similar then this forum, and then if I cant sell it all I move on ebay.

Ebay has always been a blood sucker of profits. But they have this new program, where they secure a certain price for you - and if that price isnt met the remainder of the price would be covered given through a ebay giftcard of their own program.

Now you feel the pain that UK sellers feel when they see what they earn after VAT.

Don't you know why they are doing this. They also need to get rich with it and the paypal does not give a nice percentage to ebay for what they need to earn. So that's why the fees are that high today. Don't buy something on ebay or don't say anything in here.

they only got fees because there is not such a stable price for the bitcoin so they also need to put some fees on it. If they don't put that on it they can lose allot of money if the price drops very low you know. they cant now the price before that's why they are doing it.

ebay is shit fee wise but that's where a lot of the traffic is

I have been using eBay for buying products from the international market for a long and have never been levied with a big fee. Also the traffic is found more on ebay because the service provided for international assistance is good.

Sys coin is aiming to change all that. Their marketplace and fees are designed to take on ebay and paypal.

The fees are definitely insane.  I have faith that one of the decentralized marketplaces in the works is going to give Ebay a run for its money:  OpenBazaar, BitBay, or Syscoin.
