Behind Manchester United defeat, I think there is still an interesting fact that there is progress towards a positive direction regarding the mentality of the players. From being 3-0 down then rising to score 2 goals and 1 goal after Spurs 4th goal. At least there is a fighting mentality that we have rarely seen when under Erik Ten Hag. Based on the last 5 matches, Manchester United has always conceded goals through corners, this must be an important note in the future to be improved. Overall I admit that Spurs are a team that is capable of beating the Manchester duo at once, but strangely enough when facing ordinary clubs, Spurs are often unable to do much.
Though Manchester United lost to Tottenham Hotspur yesterday in the Caraboa Cup but beyond the defeat, I think I understand what you mean by the "progress" in the team. Anyone who's been watching Manchester United in the last two years will definitely come to terms with the fact that the team's mentality have significantly improved under the club's new manager Ruben Amorim. Despite trailing 3:0 in the 54th minute of the game, Manchester United players were still optimistic to get back into the game and if not for Son Heung-Min's late goal, I think Manchester United would've completed their comeback. Manchester United lost but indeed, they took home some positives from the game and that I think will help them in games to come.

What the fuck with this match lol.

Both goalkeepers are really like a clown, most of the goals are because of their mistakes.

I think this is the reason why we see Onana always become starter, because the other goalkeepers are really bad, Onana was better than Bayindir.

However, this win is really deserved for Tottenham, the goal by Son is really amazing.

The final match would be Arsenal vs Liverpool.

It's more like watching a comedy between the goalkeepers from those two teams. The game is about the battle between bad goalkeeper vs worst goalkeeper. I was very entertained when watching the goalkeepers from both of clubs. Their goalkeepers looked like amateur goal keepers who lack of minutes.

The game was very entertaining due to the two dumb goal keepers were so sloppy. They played like they have no experience and got no time to play in EPL.

I can't believe what I witnessed yesterday. It was like a comedy show from both goalkeepers, especially Onana. But I enjoyed watching how Tottenham tried to qualify to save the season. As I said yesterday, we can't say Man United has broken its losing cycle until we see them winning consistently. It's difficult to bet on Man United these days, but yesterday I was sure they would win... yet another disappointment from the same club Sad

Yes, I also noticed that Man UTD tried to comeback despite the goals Tottenham Hotspur had scored and I tell you, if not for the Son goal through a corner, that game would have proceeded to penalties because the Reds found a way to get a goal. Beautiful play from the both sides and I honestly didn't expect less. Isn't it amazing that Tottenham Hotspur were the club to serve both Manchester teams the exit slip? Although, Man UTD had more drive than City if I'm being fair.
Being a Manchester United fan at this time is a good thing to be hold. Even if Manchester United did not win the match against Tottenham, I feel that all day Manchester United fans were satisfied with the fighting spirit that is being put up by the boys. This was the spirit that was lacking during the time of Erik Ten Hang. And people like Marcus rashford has refused to acknowledge the presence of the new coach and change the spirit of the old, this is the reason why he might continue to struggle for a while. People why Manchester United was losing, you saw a player like Amad cheering the crowd, just like what Vini Junior used to do in Real Madrid. That is the Spirit of united and I am happy it is back in the boys.

Tottenham vs Man United Match was epic. Although Tottenham able to defeated Man United with 4-3 goals but man United makes me impressive with their incredible mentality and their amazing performance in second half. After the match get started, The first half was normal like all other matches. Striker Dominic Solanke scored 1st goal at 15th minutes behalf of Tottenham And that's it. Afterwards second half started and it seems the match was ReStarted from then. D. Kulusevski Scored a goal at 46th minutes and Dominic Solanke Scored another goal at 54th minutes. Total three goals was scored by Tottenham while Man United score was still zero. Afterwards some strategical changes happened, replaced some players etc And Man United J. Zirkzee scored first goal at 63th minutes and then A. Diallo scored another goal at 70th behalf of Man United. Both goals Scored in similar way where goalkeeper didn't get enough time to manage the ball and Man United players attempt goal so quickly which was unexpected. Son Heung-min scored direct goal at 88th minutes from corner and let their opponent realize that, they are Tottenham!! Afterwards Man United seems energetic and scored another goal in extra minutes and finally lost the match. Tottenham win but i really like the strong mentality of Man United, where players were mentally strong, energetic and keep giving their best effort till the last second.

Despite the lose im very impressed with Amorin's tactics he's a very good coach and one that's good at reading the game, though some poor individuals performance caused them to lose and that's the change Manchester United needs in the winter and summer transfer windows ahead, so players need to leave for better ones that would fit into the system perfectly to come into, if only Manchester United got more players like Amad, Ugarte, Mazraoui, yoro, and some other few that fits perfectly to the system i think they'll become top contenders again. Martinez wasn't at his best and should've been rested and Manchester United needs a serious competition for Onana cause Altay Bayındır is not worthy of being in a United shirt. Well, there's room for more improvement though we've seen slight improvement in several areas and i believe they'll bounce back stronger with time.

What a game between Tottenham and Manchester United... We watched 7 goals and saw a score like 4-3 at the end. Amorim really did his best in terms of tactics. He was continually telling his players what to do which they weren't familiar with that much when they had Erik ten Hag.

However it didn't help anyway. I like Amorim football but it still needs time to be applied on this team completely. And for that surely he will ask for some new players of his choice to be signed for specific areas. I hope they listen to him.  Sad

By the way I don't understand why VAR isn't used in this cup.  Huh  This technology should be everywhere. I believe there was a clear foul by Bergvall to Altay on Tottenham's 4th goal. But the absence of VAR cost the Red Devils a lot.

So, we have Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle, and Tottenham for the semifinal. Who has a chance to be knocked out?
The drawing for the semifinal number will take place after the Tottenham vs. MU match. Everyone expects Arsenal and Liverpool to not meet yet in the semifinal because both clubs will be interesting to watch in the Final EFL Cup at Wembley. the possibility of surprises will exists if Newcastle, and Tottenham keep hold their performance on the semifinal.
I feel that Tottenham will make a surprise for the tournament, but if they happen on the final only, and meet Liverpool. because I saw their fighting spirit for this tournament is very high. I feel their goal for this session is the trophy EFL cup 2024/25.

Definitely not Liverpool because I think Liverpool has a great chance to bring home the EFL trophy based on their performance so far, but it is possible that there will be a surprise in the semifinals if Liverpool meets Arsenal because Arsenal may be determined to win even though their condition in the EPL is not as good as Liverpool.
I did not expect Manchester United to be eliminated in the quarter-finals by being defeated by Tottenham because I thought Man United would be a challenger until the final but unfortunately his struggle has ended.
Things will not play out the way it was last season. Tottenham scored three goals and before United put themselves back in the game, it was already too late, because Tottenham was strong enough to be it impossible for United. Liverpool is still the favorite is this competition, because they are strongest currently.

On the one hand, Arsenal might still be lucky to win Liverpool if they start declining in form but Liverpool is more consistent than Arsenal, and it will be better if Slot can win this first competition because he is an upper hand than the other three clubs.

Both goalkeepers are essentially substitutes. It is clear from this match why. Forster is 36 years old and he probably did not expect to become the main goalkeeper of Tottenham and in this match he was worried as if he was a newcomer and the two goals were completely his fault.
I don't remember the last time Bayındır came on at all, but with the kind of performance he showed yesterday it seems to me the next time Amorim will not release him in the starting lineup for a long time.
I wouldn't write Tottenham off, although I admit that Liverpool and Arsenal are stronger, but Tottenham are famous for being able to beat any team in the league, as was the case this year when Tottenham defeated Manchester City.

Son's goal is very good, but I think there was an infringement by a Tottenham player who basically attacked the United goalkeeper and prevented him from clearing the ball, although Bayındır played very unsure.

In football anything can happen at any given time! so for me I think the semifinal will going to be a though match for them. because looking at the four clubs none of them is to be underrated although considering their performances in the premier Liverpool stand in a better chance of lifting the trophy.

Just like what happened yesterday match between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester united I couldn't believe that Tottenham Hotspur will going to win easily because of what Manchester united played against Manchester city last weekend, so sometimes football is always unpredictable.

United are still unstable and you can see that Amorim is looking for different options, but the one who fully justifies his expectations is Amad Diallo who has 1+1 in this game and that's considering the fact that he came on as a substitute.

Congratulations Tottenham, you managed to beat two Manchesters. Looking at some of the goals that happened, I actually saw that these two goalkeepers did not perform very well. So I think this led to a lot of goals. The last goal from the corner I think there was indeed a bit of a touch to Bayindir but it didn't seem to make the referee review through VAR. Man United did lose, but I saw the game quite happy because there was a clear development with Man United's game pattern. Currently, Man United is able to control the ball and is more confident. Congratulations Tottenham, you advance to the next round.

Tottenham Hotspur is controlling the tempo in this game, whereas Manchester united is struggling to withstand the pressure from Tottenhams frontline players. Son Heuong has scored another stunning goal in the 88 minutes of the game completing the scoreline to be 4:2 in favour of Hotspur. I doubt if there's gonna be a comeback by Man Utd side at this minutes of the game just as we saw them do in their encounter with city over the past weekend game.
Son Huming finished the game for Tottenham, and despite the effort United put buy a goal from Evans through Amad Diallo assist, it was too late to complete the the comeback because Tottenham made some substitutions to make the team more stronger and United is now eliminated because the game ended 4-3.

Amorim and the team did their best, but the three goals lead was much and hard to recover even though they tried to level up; however, I think Tottenham is doing well this season, and Ange Postecogli might end their deadlock of not winning trophies.
It's very strange that in the last goal of Tottenham referee didn't see a violation, because when Son gave a corner Tottenham player interfered with United goalkeeper with his hands, which of course does not cancel the fact that United's substitute goalkeeper played extremely insecure. Forgot his  name, but after yesterday's game, I think Amorim will be putting Onana in the lineup everywhere.

Seriously, I realised yesterday why Ten Hang always make use of Onana in the goal post no matter the match. Despite the fact that Onana plays too much, he's still far better than this guy. He singlehandedly let Manchester United down with his poor keeping. Probably the worst goal keeper I have seen in a while because I can't remember the last time a corner kick being score directly.

It was a very tight game thou, but Tottenham outplayed Manchester United and also allowed United back into the game thinking they've won already. One thing I observe with this United team is that they always get serious when it's too late.
Both coaches decided to use second goalkeepers for the game and they saw the results. Tottenham's Fraser Forster was even the worst because he gifted Manchester United two cheap goals. But they were just fortunate that they kept scoring. Football fans are laying emphasis on the blunder of Altay Bayindir because Manchester United lost the game, it would have been different if they had managed to win.

It had been a long I saw such a crazy goal. Heung-min Son curved the ball from a corner kick and it posed so much problem for the young and inexperienced goalkeeper to handle. But I thought there was a contact from a Tothenham player which made Bayindir miss his timing of the ball. It was an entertaining game but the mistakes of the two goalies got the most attention.

The substitutions by Amorim in the second half made a lot of difference for Manchester United. It looked like Manchester United were the better side in the second half. Manchester United fought back from three goals down to a position where it looked like a draw was imminent unfortunately they were unlucky tonight. A lot of mistakes from the goalies today. What a night!
The second half was better by Manchester United as all three players that scored where players that came in in the second half, I think so far the best player under Amorim is Ahad Diallo, and we can all see the passion he plays with currently, the is always running, trying to make something happen, for now I don’t see what Amorim is trying to do. No style of play, few players are just better because maybe they really want to play for him. Just look at the 3 goals conceded, they are not even defensively conscious, their markings are very poor. Seriously Amorim and Manchester United need to do better.

Some subs by Amorim were contributing a lot during the second half, but they still lost. They almost made a comeback, but failed.

I were not surprised to see how they bottled their chance to beat Totenham. Like what i emphasized it on the different thread, Man United has its defenders as their liability.

If they won't solve this, they will struggle to win any games in EPL.
For now I can say Amorim is winning matches with luck, no proper build up, the team lack confidence, alot or players don’t mark, they even barely create chances. If Ben Foster was better yesterday the match would have ended up 4-0 or 4-1, he made some costly mistakes and that why Manchester almost find their way back. So I’m not convinced with this project yet, maybe after he brings in some player during the transfer window but for now I still see Manchester United struggling.

I share the same view with you, liverpool has been very much outstanding in their outplay this season , however football is an event full of new or sudden happening as such anything is possible to occur, though we can't just to the conclusion about what will occur in the semi finals in if both teams eventually encounter each other, lately arsenal seem to be going back to their normal winning ways but my problem with arsenal has always been that they give ugly surprises when you least expect it, liverpool encountering arsenal in the Carabao cup semi finals may not be as we expect but personally i see such match to be a strong one.

Arsenal may give their best based on what you've said already but I doubt if arsenal aim will be achieved because Liverpool is not a team to joke with, any team that jokes with Liverpool will be doing that to their own detriment, the only thing that may deprive Liverpool the opportunity to get that trophy is if the consider resting some players and for now I don't see any need for that.

Though it was a surprise to many to see Manchester United been trashed out but for me the best side that utilized their created chances in that match won, if Manchester United had won that match from behind after 3:0 at first from Tottenham before it ended on 4:3 defeat against them, it wouldn't have been a good one, Totenham deserve the winning the got considering their fighting spirit to make a difference in that match.

Tottenham is currently leading Manchester United by 3-0; this means they are almost through to the semifinal because Manchester United will hardly level or get a comeback in this game as it stands, but anything can happen let’s wait and see how it ends.
Just when everyone thought that Manchester United will play Tottenham with same spirit and strategy they used for Manchester City last week but they have given us a reason not to trust them yet. Tottenham humiliating Manchester United by 3:0 is really not encouraging, who knows what the match will finally end because Tottenham can still score more goals and Manchester United may not be able to comeback even though they have managed to score one goal now and the score is 3:1. Anyways, the end justify the means so let's see if they can perform any magic as they did against Manchester City in their premier league game last week.
Manchester United is not really back yet and anyone having so much expectations from them is not being fair to the new coach Ruben Amorim who just took over and yet to fully build a competitive team. Although, the condition of United does not give room for much experiments, we must know that time is a factor and it is in playing real matches that strategies are tested and perfected. Therefore, I'm not totally disappointed at the irregular performance of Manchester United unlike you who felt they ought to win tonight because they won struggling Manchester City in their last match. They played very well but were just a little unlucky that was why Tottenham took advantage of the situation.
In as much as I agree with you, Amorim should try and make sure he change this attitudes of Manchester United players, in conceiving many goals first before they will start struggling to equalise back, therefore putting the pressure on them, later on. This is one problem that has existed in Manchester United team for too long. Any manager that comes in, experience same thing. Manchester United are conceding too many goals before they will put on the fighting spirit. How can they allow a Tottenham team to score them that number of goals before trying to get back in the match. Yes, Amorim is new, and much is not expected from him because he didn't assemble the players, but he should try and solve this problem. Even if they are not winning matches yet, they shouldn't be conceding many goals at the beginning of every match they are playing.

Manchester United did well in the game, anyone who thinks Manchester United did not do well in the game did not watch the game, Manchester United played well despite losing with 3 goals, Ruben Amorim's substitution in the second half made Manchester United's performance change and we all can see the players that need to be in the team and those players who are not serious, I think Ruben Amorim is using his plan to start some players in a match to see if they are capable of doing what he want.

From Yesterday's match, we can see that Antony is not a Manchester United player, Ruben Amorim has removed Rashford from the squad for two matches now and I think there are still some players he will do that with again, some Manchester United fans are angry because of the result but for me, that result is not bad, Manchester United should not expect much from Ruben Amorim this year, Ruben Amorim is planning something that will make the team performance look good next season, he is trying to build the team and we can see that from the team performance.
