With an aggregate of 2 goals of course we doubt Arsenal in the second leg later, even if Arsenal wants to qualify for the final at least they have to score 3 goals and not let Newcastle add to their aggregate total but it seems it will be difficult for Arsenal to score more than 2 goals at Newcastle's headquarters and it seems this is the end of Arsenal's struggle in the EFL Cup.

Yes, Tottenham's victory over Liverpool cannot be said to be safe because Liverpool can still turn things around, after all being 1 goal behind is not a big difference and Liverpool might respond by scoring many goals in the second leg later.
Arsenal really have a bad moment against Newcastle which I think that was the only moment for Arsenal to have a structure which will lead them easily to the final but it was turned down maybe due to missing players, very important players that are needed to secured victory, and in the second leg i don't think they can be able to make it due to the current performance of Newcastle, especially when they are playing at Newcastle's headquarters, it have been a while when Newcastle had this kind of opportunity, in this case I think Newcastle will qualify for the final.

Tottenham's victory is amazing but it is not a guarantee for them to qualify to final because the team the played with is the strongest team this season in Premier league. They only had a goal which will be very easy for Liverpool to comeback especially when the are play at Anfield Stadium. On like Newcastle that win and away match with two goals, their case are different.

Liverpool played with many top players, yet they missed to score and Tottenham Hotspur missed also some opportunities but they were able to win the game by only one goal and passed to the final game against Newcastle United which will be complicated and hard to guess the winner

Bergvall shouldn’t have been on the pitch but for some reason the referee didn’t send him off and he scored the winner 30 seconds later when Tsimikas who he just injured was off the pitch getting treatment.

Spurs better believe we are going to deal with them in the 2nd leg at Anfield.

That's why i said the referee in this game was bullshit. It's obvious a yellow card for Bergvall, and i'm wondering why incompetent referee still be employed.

I thought that Liverpool is getting robbed by the referee in this game. The incident between Bergvall and Tsimikas was the reason why they lost.

Once again Arsenal had to disappoint their fans they suffered a defeat in the first leg at home against Newcastle I think Arsenal has no hope in the second leg because they will be visiting Newcastle's house the home club certainly will not let their guests beat them and of course Newcastle has a greater chance of qualifying for the semifinals by adding another 1/2 goal.

It was quite surprising to see Liverpool lose to Tottenham in the first leg even though as we know Liverpool are very strong this season and I think they will win in the 1st and 2nd legs but my prediction was wrong, even so Liverpool still have a chance to turn things around in the second leg later when playing at Anfield.
For Arsenal i highly doubt they can able to bounce back on the second leg this because Newcastle in their best form and it's hard to beat them especially at their home ground so for second leg match my prediction is Newcastle will be able to win the match again and eleminate Arsenal

For other semifinal match between Tottenham vs Liverpool indeed this is a shocking result because Liverpool is the favourite but in fact Tottenham is much better than them and can win with the final score 1-0 and all Tottenham have to do in the second leg is try to get a draw at Anfield

1-0 is not safe score for Tottenham so there is still a possibility for Liverpool to win the match with a margin of more than 1 goal for second leg later and i am quite confident Liverpool will be able to do that
With an aggregate of 2 goals of course we doubt Arsenal in the second leg later, even if Arsenal wants to qualify for the final at least they have to score 3 goals and not let Newcastle add to their aggregate total but it seems it will be difficult for Arsenal to score more than 2 goals at Newcastle's headquarters and it seems this is the end of Arsenal's struggle in the EFL Cup.

No one expected Arsenal to lost 0 - 2 to Newcastle at home and this defeat could be bad start because in the second leg Arsenal will have to play away and at least have to win by more than 3 goal to be able to enter the final absolutely.
70% of most football fans expect Arsenal to win, but 30% of most bettors already have the idea that Newcastle can win. Even I bet on Newcastle without hesitation. And I have also said here that Newcastle can hold or even beat Arsenal. Newcastle's performance cannot be underestimated. Regarding Arsenal who must qualify for the final round, I have an assumption that if Arsenal will qualify for the final round, in the second leg Arsenal will be able to score 3 or 4 goals. Or if not, Arsenal is only able to score 2 goals without conceding and Arsenal will qualify from the penalty round.
It would be an extraordinary achievement if Newcastle can beat Arsenal again in the second leg or draw and Newcastle advance to the final because it has been long time since we saw Newcastle have the opportunity to play in the final to compete for one of the titles from several competitions they have participated in.
Previously you made Newcastle the favorite but what about the second leg later, will Newcastle win again or vice versa, give of you prediction here and for me there is only small chance for Arsenal to enter the final, scoring many goal in an away game is not easy.

That looks controversial after he tackles Kostas Tsimikas hard. He should have gotten a 2nd yellow card, and He should have been sent off before the goal happened. I don't know why Stuart Atwell as the referee didn't focus on that incident?, because if allowed to continue to occur, the other players will imitate him and it will cause injuries to many players. From a moral point of view, Arsenal should not take advantage of the empty space by leaving Tsimikas lying down on the field. This is so embarrassing to utilize by creating empty gaps by harming someone.

It's make sense for Liverpool to lose, both of them have created big chance, but both of them also lost the chance too.

But, Tottenham playing in their home and they're just more lucky in this match.

Liverpool should able to win with big margin in the second leg, while Arsenal is really questionable because Newcastle is one of strong team unlike Tottenham. Tottenham weren't win in the last four match.

Definitely we know how the second leg is going to turn out. Though since Newcastle won Arsenal at their home, most people will think that Arsenal will find it difficult when they meet Newcastle in their own home but who knows, Arsenal can turn things around to their favor but i think Arsenal will win Newcastle but the goal aggregate may disappoint them because Newcastle may not give them the chance to win with more than one goal difference since Newcastle stands a better chance after they won Arsenal with two goals.

Liverpool against Tottenham in the second leg will surely be in favor of Liverpool no doubt about that, i feel the reason why Liverpool lost the first leg was to enable them concentrate on their FA Cup game against Accrington on Saturday. Though that wasn't the major reason why they lost to Tottenham, just that Tottenham got lucky and won towards the ending minutes of the game.

All competition is important to those participating in it if Liverpool and Arsenal lost their previous carabao cup semi finals doesn't mean that the cup is not important for them I believe the best side won in those game, if the cup wasn't important for Liverpool they wouldn't have try playing with many top players, though in that game between Tothenham and Liverpool, Liverpool played a better football even had more scoring opportunity but they failed to utilize it well it was almost at the ending time of the game that Tothenham Bergvall had to score to give Tothenham a lead and a winning goal, Newcastle might likely to win if Tothenham and Newcastle finally end up playing the carabao cup finals.

I think too that none of teams is in a mood that they don't care whatsoever, but nevertheless I doubt that they play with the same vehemence and strength as they would play in important games in the Champions League. You can observe similar patterns in the Nations League where on a regular basis the big teams are really weak and lose games they would otherwise hardly lose. The reason is that the players can't push themselves right into the game as much as they can in other important games like at the World Cup or Copa América or European Championship. At those tournaments you can see that the players push their limits, but I don't think they do it as much in cups like the Carabao Cup.
I still disagree with you not been serious with football competition such as carabao cup is not when they have gotten to the stage they are now in carabao cup you should know that this is semi finals any team that qualifies now is definitely going to the finals Liverpool played that game with all seriousness and also with there key players if the cup wasn't important for them why using major players to play the game, Liverpool losing to Tottenham yesterday really cost Liverpool alot because their 24 game unbeaten run in all competition just came to an end, with Liverpool performance yesterday I still believe they will make it through to the finals I believe they will definitely win Tothenham and qualify when they will be hosting Tothenham at the Anfield stadium for their second leg play.

For the Arsenal fans, i saw this today;

21 Years without a title
33 Years without a Carabao Cup
0 UCL
0 Super Cup
0 Club World Cup
Never defended any prem title.

This is a very bad record for a club who has a humble and passionate fans. Is the club really ready to win any title because i don't think so. Newcastle beat them on their home yesterday and knowing full well that they are in the lesser side to win the EPL. It was a moment for them to win at least the Carabao cup after so many years.

The management is poor and it is obvious now.

Arsenal’s story is a sad one.  To be honest I don't even consider Arsenal to be a top team in Europe despite their encouraging performances they don't even have a European title to their name, which is quite shameful. Even teams like Nottingham Forest are regarded as a stronger team in Europe than them given to their historic Champions League victories. Arsenal are known for playing beautiful football but failing to achieve any significant success. Until they can translate style into major European triumphs, they will remain a second tier in the European elite hierarchy.

Liverpool were a bit careless with their opportunities against Tottenham in the EFL cup and had to pay for it by conceding that lone goal. Tottenham were a unique side against Liverpool this time around, they were very fierce and articulate, they played with so much consciousness of the fact that they were up against a very strong team and at such shouldn't be too loosed and this was what made Tottenham very difficult to deal with for Liverpool, though the Reds still have another chance to salvage themselves but i guess Tottenham wouldn't make it easier for them knowing that this may be their only chance to lay their hands on a trophy.

That's not how football works man, you saying Arsenal cannot beat Newcastle in Newcastle home simply because they are guest doesn't sound right because any team can beat any other team irrespective of where they are playing. If Arsenal give in their 101% in that game and not let their guide down, they will beat Newcastle and qualify for the finals.

In football any team can lose a match or even a trophy and that doesn't mean they have performed badly. We can't judge Liverpool's perftby just a single game when they have been on the news headlines all through the season. We should just sit back and see the outcome of the return leg.
Tottenham won the first leg but they are still not in a comfortable position because they did not win the first leg by so many goals so their advantage is not so big. The one goal is something that Liverpool can simply recover from because they are playing very good football this season in all competition that they are in. Arsenal have a more difficult task at hand, they have to recover from the two goals against Newcastle who are likely to not sit back in the second leg and wait for Arsenal to come attacking. Newcastle will try to take the game to Arsenal too.

It looks like the teams that will play in the finals have not yet been completely decided.

Every team is strong at home, but how can Liverpool team perform so badly being the top local team this season. Most gamblers bet on Liverpool team, where Liverpool fans are very scared of losing their gambling bets due to this impossible result.
But how can I believe that Liverpool team did not take this match as a competition because they made a total of 14 attacks in the whole match, the opposite team Tottenham team made 9 attacks. But here I see Liverpool team scared, they could not perform well in a different field.
Tottenham Hotspur is very aware of the opponent they are facing so Tottenham themselves also take defense into account besides counterattacks to Liverpool because Tottenham knows that Liverpool will definitely attack more in order to win the match. So Tottenham successfully held back every attack launched by Liverpool until the end of the match and Tottenham was also very lucky because of the nine attacks they built one of them could result in a goal and uniquely the only goal was the winning goal for Tottenham.
I just hope Tottenham will be able to hold back further when they meet at Anfield for the return leg. Tottenham made good use of their home stadium and it was properly utilised to their advantage. For now it's just a 1-0 defeat and we know how aggressive Liverpool can be at their home stadium, I hope Tottenham keep up with it.

Liverpool is at the verge of crashing out of the EFL cup. Solanke had a beautiful goal and it was discounted for off side and it didn't take long that Solanke assisted Bergvall to reclaim the goal.
Liverpool is practically struggling to equalize the match while time is ticking so so fast. I saw the time at 85mins and within 1 min, it is now 90mins Grin
They will if they don't show strength, zeal, tenacity and hunger to win in their fortress during the second leg to turn over the tie in their favour. Tottenham on the other hand will be willing to fight for a spot in the finals, but i don't trust that Tottenham team because they are filled with inconsistency, where you will think Tottenham will perform, they will just disappoint you, i don't know if the players and its board doesn't need a trophy!
This was first leg of semifinal which played in London home of Tottenham even though they won but still we have great chance for Liverpool to fightback in second half and have their chances open for the final while things were tense after having draw against Manchester United suddenly we have they are feeling heat but keep one thing in mind Liverpool is team which can fight back quickly and have enough momentum to beat any team as well in any competition.

I was also stunned after having this lost, but we have to understand players are having now enough load so keeping all matches on level is never been easy for them sometime they can lose their depth and these are part of play in next 16 days we have 5 games for Liverpool in all competitions surely this is huge problem now for clubs, but they have to manage this.

I know it sucks to see Liverpool bottled their two last games, but it's not the end of the world. Liverpool was only losing the first leg, and can comeback in the second leg. They can easily turn things around at the anfield, and why're you worrying it?

Liverpool can score more than 2 goals easily once they played in their next home game, and i expect they to comeback.

They can smash Tottenham back at anfield. I'm not really bothered by their result in the first leg.
I it was not a bad match for Liverpool, they really played well and maybe the score line of the match didn’t reflect on their performance. Tottenham on the other hand will take this tournament very serious, I don’t see them winning the premier league this season, nor do I see them winning the Europa league also this season, but this is a big opportunity for them to end their 17 years without a trophy drought. So I will say this again, Tottenham will take the second leg more serious, probably it might be biggest game for them this season.

Ange postecoglou always win something in his second season since his managerial career and this might be it for him as a Tottenham manager. While for Liverpool they have a lot of trophies to think about this season already and might probably not take this trophy very serious. They are currently favorites in winning the premier league and also topping the champions league, which they also seems favorite to win it.

It going to be very difficult for spurs to win at Anfield but you can’t write them off. It’s going to be a big match, and it can go both ways.

I know Liverpool are eyeing several trophies this season and that will be a good record when having a new coach in the first season.
There are certain key players in Liverpool that if anything affects them, such as injury, the entire style of play in the Liverpool team and their momentum will be affected. The more games that Liverpool have to play that they take very seriously, the higher the danger to these key players getting injured or affected by accumulated fatigue.

Arsenal lost; Liverpool now lost. If it ends up being a final between Tottenham and Newcastle, I see Newcastle claiming it.

Things could still go well for them regardless of what said lol. They're doing well, and if shit continues this way for them they could go on winning the title. They've also had players recently injured and put for weeks both in midfield,  defense and attack but they have thrived nevertheless,  no? I love how their manager handle games. I can't recall the game but I remember him make a tactical change in a game they was red carded, I was expecting a player to be substituted but he saw it differently. Well, we can just wait rather than rush it. Newcastle to win? The Fa want to see their English man win it to keep his job with Newcastle? Lol! They're doing great regardless.

Tottenham on the other hand got a big win last night, at least they got an advantage into the second leg, they are now 90min away from a cup final. Honestly Liverpool deserves the win, they played much better, created more chances. Tottenham first goal from Dominic solanke got ruled out to an offside but just few minutes after that he set up a good goal. Tottenham have a very big task ahead of them whey they travel to Anfield, it not going to be easy there. Let see if spurs can hold the Anfield wave and end their 17years without a trophy drought.

Since Liverpool draw with Manchester United, things haven't been the same again. That game was supposed to be an easy run for Liverpool but it already their culture to start the season with high tension and fumble towards the end of the season. The only good thing here is that there's another leg for them to make things right but it's always better to get things rightly in the first leg rather than relying on the second leg to make things right.

However, the blame should be on Slot for underestimating Tottenham ability to win. He should be aware this is competition and no team should be underestimated. No Trophy is useless and even if their priority is on winning the league or champions league, adding this to their cabinet is an achievement for the coach and the team in general.
