Meanwhile, expect that Arsenal will equalize the match. I had already predicted BTTS in this match.
Sorry, it did not happen

Yea, it didn't just happen but it was so obvious that was supposed to happen.

Newcastle scored a second goal, Isak the orchestrator again, but it ends with Gordons this time. I can't say I am embarrassed because I expected this loss. Our attack is very poor, poorer since the Saka injury; chances to score every time we go forward on a scale of 1-10 is not even up to 5. That is how poor we are.
I thought Gabriel Jesus had really stepped up in the past few games and Arsenal actually became high scoring vs when Saka played (they were mostly relying on set pieces). Personally, I wonder why Arteta didn't just start him rather than bring him on in the second half.
Arteta makes his choices and most times his choices are not productive but we cannot question him because he is the head coach.
No one gets an inform striker and play him from the bench in an important match, I thought I was the only one that noticed.

This should be an eye opener to Arteta that he needs to make sure we strengthen our attack in this opportunity we have; with Martinelli, Havertz, and Jesus, we will win nothing.
Given the way Newcastle played, I really don't see much of the difference if Saka was there, Newcastle are always brilliant in capitalizing on the mistake of most defenders, their attack might look less dangerous and that is the disguise they always been using while putting Alexander Isak as their arrow head. If you watch the game properly towards the ending from around 60 minutes of play you will see that all the Newcastle players had to come back to defend the 2 goals they scored, the reason is they've already gotten what they wanted, so it's time for them to defend what they had till the final whistle.

That is the number one sign of a striker that is in form because no matter the pressure the other team puts on his team he takes every advantage he has to make sure he gives his team the advantage. I doubt that Newcastle will be so willing to sell Alexander Isak especially now that he is on a very good goal scoring form.

Nah, i don't think Newcastle will be willing to sell Isak to any club especially now that they have a rich owner instead they would want to add more prolific players to their squad. Newcastle can only let him go if he wants to opt out himself, for now i don't even see him leaving because his already enjoying himself in the club. Its 50 goals to his name in all competitions already and his not slowing down.
Newcastle can only sell Isak if they have serious financial problems to solve. No club sells their hit player at the heat of the season. Isak is not a one season wonder striker, he has been consistent since I have known him.

The time is closing up really fast as it is 85mins already. It seems that Newcastle is about to eliminate Arsenal. Scoring 2 goals within 10mins is not what many clubs do. However, even if Arsenal losses, I give kudos to Martinelli, the guy really gave a tough fight.

Less than one week to go for the semifinal games of EFL Carabao Cup between Arsenal and Newcastle United and a day after between Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.
At the first glance I think that the final match will be held between gunners and Liverpool. Liverpool is way better than the other teams and Tottenham isn't ok at all this period.
Arsenal and Newcastle match is a little bit more complicated thought since Newcastle could show some good performances and gunners have their weak moments.
Overall both games are interesting and worth to be followed Wink

I really like Newcastle's game as well this season. They have been getting positive results and Isak is also in great shape. I believe they can make difficulties for Arsenal tomorrow. However I still see Arsenal one step ahead of course. Even without Saka they showed how strong they could play recently. I haven't seen Arsenal's name on an EFL Cup for a long time. I think they will make it to the finale and most probably they will find Liverpool against themselves. Smiley It would be the best finale for the league cup to be honest.
Although Newcastle United is a good team, Arsenal is in a much better position right now. Although Bukayo Saka's absence affected them a lot, they still continued to perform. I don't think they are playing badly at all despite their missing players. I believe they can be successful in the Newcastle matches and advance to the next round. I think Liverpool will be the winner of the EFL. Of course, there is no guarantee in the finals, both teams have a chance to win in the final. In my opinion, Liverpool will be one of the finalists and will win the match. Because stopping Liverpool is a big problem at this time.
Arsenal this season has lost to Newcastle in the EPL so I think the match will be a revenge for them, but even so, it will be difficult for Arsenal to conquer Newcastle given their impressive performance so far is very impressive without defeat in the last 6 EPL matches, while Arsenal, are not in a stable condition in my opinion after losing Saka and we can see their poor performance against Brighton in their last match, to be honest, I see that the match will be very difficult to predict because both teams have had very good player quality so far, but if I must to choose, I personally see that a draw will be the end of the normal time match.
While for the Liverpool vs Tottenham match, of course Liverpool will be my choice to win the match.
Newcastle is currently winning Arsenal 1-0 half time, the thing with Newcastle is that they are very impressive when it comes to scoring goal up front, at the slightest mistake they can take you unaware and score you 2 to 3 goals before you realize it, if you look at the game very well, Arsenal have been very impressive with their attack but yet Newcastle have been able to make use of that slightest opportunity they have, don't be surprised that there is high likelihood that Newcastle might score more goals or the game might end in a tie this second half.

Arsenal have not lost a game in the Emirates for a very long time, they will likely not want this to be the most recent. Arsenal are dominating the game and should be able to at least equalize the game if they cannot win it.

Arsenal vs Newcastle tonight for the Carabao Cup Semi Finals, if Arsenal are to advance to the finals tonight, they need to be at their A game and not lose focus because Newcastle will not waste time in exploiting loop holes from Arsenal's end. Arsenal needs to intensify their attack against Newcastle at the same time not forgetting their back line where Newcastle can hit them on the break of counter attack. Though both teams really hasn't been consistent this season, surprise could come from any side as this game will be hard to guess the outcome before full time.
It's clear that this game today isn't gonna be an easy game for Arsenal to win, Remember Newcastle United defeated Tottenham this weekend, I'm not seeing any favorable team to win in this encounter, it really an open game for both side and the outcome would be hugely be determined by the team that utilized their best goal scoring opportunities and the side that applied a better tactical system of play.
Arsenal has been pressing forward so far but they need to be careful with their backline because Newcastle could hit them surprisingly at any moment. Newcastle has been dangerous in recent games.
Currently Newcastle are leading Arsenal with a goal to nil, Isak just put the ball at the back of the net. Its almost half time and its 0-1 in favour of the visitors 44mins on the clock.

What a miss from Martinelli, the ball came off the woodwork. Arsenal are really giving Newcastle a tough time at the back, its been attack after attack, dominance from Arsenal from all angles in the game, they need to take this advantage now or they may regret later. Its minute 34 on the clock now and its goalless.
Isak has just done it, upon all the pressure of Arsenal on Newcastle, they'll now try to equalize before thinking about winning the match. I do not blame Martinelli because he made a perfect shoot just that the bar defended the shot for Newcastle. This match will remain intensifying and exciting till the end.

Meanwhile, expect that Arsenal will equalize the match. I had already predicted BTTS in this match.

I'm also of the opinion that Arsenal won't find it easy to win Newcastle. This is a club that has been giving them tough time right from time so if they will defeat them, they will need a lot  of expertise and skill since the magpies are also a tricky club.
Arsenal have mastered the art of taking advantage of set pieces so will that be the only thing they will be relying on because these days teams have known that that's their strong suit.
If this game ends in Arsenal's favor I wonder if they can be able to take on the the winner of the Tottenham Hotspur vs Liverpool game because as it is, Newcastle seems to be holding court in Arsenal's half and if they can capitalize on the chances they are getting, it will definitely find the Gunners in trouble.

Let’s see how Arsenal is going to perform in the match. I am not so confident that Arsenal will be getting a win in the match, Newcastle is not a weak team, and since Saka went on injury, if you closely watch Arsenal’s match, you will notice their performance has dropped. Saka’s absence is really affecting Arsenal, which I am sure is going to affect them in today's match.

Newcastle is so dangerous and shouldn’t be underestimated, Arsenal might end up getting a win in the match, but it’s really going to be a difficult one for Arsenal. Since the match will be starting in a few minutes, let’s just wait and enjoy the match. I am sure it’s going to be an interesting and entertaining one.

I'll really love the finals to be between Arsenal and Liverpool but then I'll have to wait for the outcomes of the Semi-finals between Arsenal vs Newcastle and Spurs vs Liverpool. Anyways the match between Arsenal vs Newcastle is going to be a very tough one and quite difficult to predict due to the current form of both teams, Arsenal in their last 5 matches haven't lost any, they won 4 and drew 1 while Newcastle won all 5 thereby giving them a good form to face Arsenal in this competition, they're tough this season and difficult to beat so it's not going to be an easy win for Arsenal even though the bookmakers favours them mostly, after what i saw happened in the Coppa Itália, i don't think I'll be quick to crown Arsenal the winners cause Newcastle are capable of showing resistance just like AC Milan did against Inter, Moreover this is their opportunity to get into the finals and try to win a trophy this season so they'll take it very seriously.
If it is between Arsenal and Liverpool then Liverpool might end up wining the cup and the EPL as well. I know how many times Chelsea has gone to final with Liverpool in the Carabao competition and Liverpool has won it those times. Am not sure this is the first time Arsenal and Liverpool are expecting to play in the final competition. But if it happens just like you have wanted it then Arsenal should use the opportunity to win it. Because Liverpool are more focused in the EPL than this cup. Well i might be wrong. They may have plans to win both competition this season.

As for today. Arsenal is my favorite team to win against Newcastle. If they cant win the EPL then they should get at least one trophy this season if not Arteta is going to be on a serious black note.
Speaking from a neutral point of view I think the final is going to be against Arsenal and Liverpool and as much as I’ll love Liverpool to win they will have to pass their huddle against Tottenham if Liverpool get to the finals then I think Liverpool will win the EFL trophy because they are kings of the EFL cup and they have won it in previous years and still hold the cup. Arsenal is a very good team winning the premier league is more important to Arteta so he will not want to lose any of his players after Loosing Saka to injury. He will definitely rest some players because he has a very important game during the weekend against Manchester United who knows how to play big games in the league. So I see Liverpool wining the EFL trophy.

Arsenal and Newcastle are both in good form and moreover, there are home and away games which I think will make this match difficult to predict. Because it is possible that the away team in the first leg will only play defensively and will be at their best in the second leg, or maybe the other way around, who knows. But, based on their recent head to head record, I think Newcastle still has a chance to beat Arsenal in this semifinal match. Because after all, the team that has really improved to be very good lately, of course it will be very possible for Newcastle to get a good result too. Considering the factors they have had lately, then I just hope that in this first leg they will have  a lot of goals at least with a total of three goals.
The match will start in a few minutes, the bookies give @2.15 for Arsenal while Newcastle @5.00, the difference feels quite far if we are talking about the semifinal match, maybe Arsenal factor as the host is the bookies' reason, but as you said Newcastle is currently in their best form in the Premier League so Arsenal will not easily get a win, or Newcastle could give a surprise, what is clear is that this match will be tight and whoever loses still has a chance to take revenge in the second leg.

I fancy Newcastle United in the game between Arsenal and going away from home Arsenal would be very strong because they want to win there first trophy of the season which is going to be a very competitive game, Arsenal fighting for the premier league I think Arteta will try and rest some players for that Cup game because he has a very strong game in the weekend against Manchester United in the premier league he doesn’t want tired legs and fatigue for his players. Newcastle has been very good in the premier league they are in the best form of the season so far in the premier and I’m going to fancy them to win against Arsenal tonight. And I fancy Isak to score he is in a very good form lately in the premier league and he is scoring goals for fun

Only 2 hours to go for the Arsenal - Newcastle game. I'm looking forward to watching the game of 2 well-performing clubs this season.  Roll Eyes

Arsenal are obviously the serious favourites at Emirates. But getting that win against an in-form Newcastle wouldn't be easy IMO. Newcastle beat Tottenham and Manchester United both in away games lately as a reminder. I know Arsenal are stronger but still it shows how dedicated they are nowadays.

I expect a win by Arsenal but with a close difference such as 1-0, 2-1 or so. I don't see the final very clear for them as I expect Newcastle to fight back hard in the rematch.  Wink
Interestingly the EFL Cup semifinal because each team has the opportunity to defeat your opponent at home. Arsenal vs Newcastle who will play in the next hour is leg 1 at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium. If in this match Arsenal managed to win over Newcastle, then Newcastle still has hope to maintain the opportunity in leg 2.

Arsenal became a team that was favored by many people to enter the final round, but that was not necessarily.
A thin score can be created tonight. If Newcastle is able to score a goal at Emirates, then that's a good thing.
