Newcastle United - AFC Wimbledon
This game will take place tonight in 3 hours from now.
Newcastle is playing in the English Premier League and they are sitting in the 7th place. In the other hand, Wimbledon is 6th in Football League Two.
The difference between both of them is clear and the odds for Wimbledon to win almost don't exist @20 on average in different bookies!

We can see the picture of the results in this match through several previous EFL Cup matches, Chelsea won 5-0 when facing Barrow, Arsenal won 5-1 when facing Bolton and Liverpool won 5-1 when facing West Ham United. Newcastle will certainly win, but whether they can get the handicap in the betting is the question. -2.5 goals is the lowest handicap to get decent odds, I don't think Newcastle will win with this handicap.

There aren't that many games for a while, all the way until late October, so there aren't that many games left to bet on.

I do like EFL because it is mostly higher league teams vs lower league teams at the start, and that is usually easier to bet on.

There are some cases of shocking results, we did manage to see a few teams who got wins, but usually it is easy. Like United won easily, Chelsea won easily, Villa won, City won, they all won and betting on them was an easy thing to do. So, I guess that betting on EFL is very fun, specially on these early games.

However, it is sporadically played and next games are 29th of October so there aren't really that many games that we got to play and it is not going to be something we can bet easily on.

Out of nowhere, this guy scored 2 goals for Arsenal, play for 90 minutes and become man of the match. This might be his first step to play in senior teams. Without both Odegaard and Merino, Arsenal is still strong enough with their current players.

This will be a good chance for them considering Manchester City lost Rodri in this season.

Nwaneri was a totally underrated player. He scored two goals against Bolton, though it's Bolton, a third-tier team. But I think he could play Ødegaard's role. His off-the-ball work has been excellent. And I was amazed to see how good, mature, and comfortable he was on the ball.

I don't know how to explain it fully, but he just looks elite. I think it will be good if he joins the first team. He can build chemistry with some of their key players.

It will be way more valuable for him to get more minutes next to the starters; he’ll actually be playing from game to game.

Funny enough in this round of EFL Carabao Cup that both Liverpool and Arsenal won their games with the same amount of goals scored and received, 5 - 1!
At the same time, most goals were scored in the second half of the game where it is clear to see the difference between a top club and a normal one.
West Ham United should rethink about their future strategy because things aren't going well for them.

Ethan Nwaneri seems to be winning over the heart of Mikel Arteta because from time to time Arteta brings him on even in premier league games to get playing time and I notice improvements in Ethan’s game. Yesterday he got on the score sheets with a brace to help Arsenal win against Bolton. I am proud of the player he is becoming as a Nigerian, no doubts he could be a crucial member of the team in the near future.

I see Merino as someone who will be available first to play for Arsenal, before Odegaard, but until then Ethan Nwaneri showed very good goal scoring ability. He was not the only young player who was good for Arsenal, Myles Lewis-Skelly also made some good passes to Raheem Sterling, for his first assist for Arsenal. The inexperience of Arsenal's goalkeeper Jack Porter was obvious, he was lucky to have a good midfield that made sure to control the game for Arsenal, reducing the work the defenders had to do.
The young players that Arteta used to start that game can actually win that competition for Arsenal or help the team get to the level where the bigger player take over. Those players are reducing the workload for players who play every weekend in the premier league as regular starters for Arsenal.

Among these ones, I see Brighton v Liverpool and Tottenham v Manchester City matches as the most attracting. Because I think we will see really good performances from both sides. Each one of these teams are very capable in the attacking line. I don't see next round in the bag for Liverpool for example. The same for Manchester City either.  Sad

If I bet on these matches, I'd prefer both teams to score.
if you bet on both teams to score a match like Man City vs Tottenham the odds will not be good enough. the chances of both scoring are high. but what is frustrating is that sometimes a match between 2 strong teams usually doesn't result in a single goal.
a match like Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace or MU vs Leicester might be more appropriate for both teams to score.
anything can happen in a competition like the Carabao Cup. Chelsea might get a bigger chance for this trophy.

It is nice to have a thread related to the EFL Cup.  Smiley  Maybe the FA Cup has more prestige than this one but I still have fun while watching the matches here as well.

We already have the majority of the 1/8-finals matchups:

The favourites haven't surprised us in the 1/16 finals phase and got really decent wins. They really have a tough work to do you know. Just imagine yourself competing in so many tournaments at the same time. Of course it isn't the first time they are doing this but this season there are more games to be played in European competitions such as the Champions League and so on. This makes the schedule even busier.  Sad

Here at this point, the manager with the best decisions on player rotations will step forward. And of course the most squad depth wins!  Grin  I guess nobody can race with Chelsea about that.  Tongue

Arsenal will face bolton today, Bolton who play in the English league division 3 is in 19th standing place and it shows that their form is very poor at the moment, but does that it promise an easy victory for Arsenal later?
Of course not, because so far we know that small teams that have difficulty winning the league trophy will usually make the Carabao Cup trophy their main target, but unlike teams like Arsenal which will usually field a third-tier squad in the match, so that it increase the chances of the opposing team to win, we can see before if many teams from League One and Championship are able to reach the semi-finals and even final in the Carabao Cup, so it shows how seriously they for get the Carabao Cup trophy seriously all along, To be honest, although Arsenal is the favorite to win over Bolton, but I think the match will not be easy for them.
Speaking of the Liverpool vs West Ham game, obviously I agree with you, I think Liverpool and West Ham will try to field most of their key players in the game and the game will be no different from the game in the Premier League.
Arsenal and Liverpool punish their opponents in these games with same score as we have Arsenal vs Bolton 5–1, and we have same score for the Liverpool.

Arsenal started aggressively as they score early goal through Rice and then doubled it quickly in second half we have three more goals from them as Raheem Sterling also score his first goal for the Arsenal in this game.

Liverpool having slow start as they concede own goal early but in last minutes of the game we have good firepower from them as M Salah and Gakpo score three goals after double from the Diego Jota which make things non-returnable for the struggling West Ham as they are looking awful in this season with most chances they will surely fight hard for their survival in Premier League.

The moment I saw West Ham take the lead, I knew they wouldn't hold it for long and I just don't know why that usually happens with them. Is it that they lack confidence or they are just not good or what because they are amongst the teams that when they take the lead in a game( be it against a strong side of average) they seldom maintain it just like Everton and wolves so I knew more goals was going to come out from that game and Liverpool will edge out West Ham.
It seemed that after their loss to Nottingham Forest, Liverpool weren't looking to take any chances against any teams they play so they employed their tactics of attacking till they break the opponents defense and so far that has been working for them.

All the goals in this match came from Liverpool players, even West Ham United's 1 goal was an own goal from Quansah. From there we can know that West Ham United had no chance of breaking into Liverpool and scoring a goal for themselves. It's disappointing to see West Ham this season, they are no better than last season.

Today's EFL matches:

Arsenal vs Bolton (over 3)
Liverpool vs West Ham (BTTS)

On paper this match should not provide any surprises because Arsenal and Liverpool are currently in very good form. So I took a bet on over 3 with odds @1.5 and BTTS (Yes) with odds @1.71.
Total parlay odds @2.57
Hopefully there are no surprises in today's match.
Both favorite teams played very well, I also made Arsenal and Liverpool as favorites for today match and they really won as expected, I was impressed with Arsenal and Liverpool game which each won by 5 goal.
I didn't expect Liverpool to win with score of 5 - 1, if for Arsenal it is clear that they won with score of 5 - 1 because Bolton is not strong team and they will not be able to beat Arsenal just like that.
I took Handicap -2 for Arsenal and victory for Liverpool with total odd @2.09.

West Ham is completely collapsed. Their form has been so abysmal. Their attackers were terrible to watch. They missed many chances. They played with zero pattern in so many games, and their players were clueless about what to do with the ball. They lost their football philosophy right after they sacked Moyes. Their mentality has vanished, too.

They are now sleepwalking to a relegation battle. I have seen enough of how Lopetegui has coached them; they must sack him asap.

Hopefully there are no surprises in today's match.

From what I saw in the latest matches of both teams, Liverpool and Arsenal will win their games. Arsenal is obviously the best comparing to Bolton. Liverpool will play against a stronger team than Bolton, yet West Ham United is weaker this season.
The starting eleven for Liverpool is expected to be:
Kelleher
Bradley, Gomez, Quansah, Tsimikas
Jones, Endo, Szoboszlai
Chiesa, Nunez, Gakpo
So 4-3-3, to be confirmed with Chiesa starting the game for the first time tho with Liverpool

One fixture I'm anxious to see is the Chelsea vs Barrow game because Enzo's boys have been on fire for a while now and judging by their performance, this game should be an easy one except this Barrow club can put up a fight because we know that Chelsea can mess when you least expect them to.
Nkunku has scored 2 goals for Chelsea now. They have conceded 2 goals in just 20 minutes and from Chelsea's performance against Barrow at Stamford Bridge, two goals is not enough. Betting on the over would be a good bet.
This game is an opportunity for Mudryk to gain Enzo Maresca's trust.

In another game, Manchester City have only managed to score 1 goal against Watford. Doku was the scorer.
This game is also a good bet for the over.
Chelsea is coming back to it form as of years back again. I really like the way they are playing this year but they have not met any strong team to see if really they are in good shape. I was like Chelsea won Barrow 5-0. This is new record broken by Chelsea for a very long time. Just like Barrow was just moving around the field and Chelsea was busy scoring. Both ball control and shots, Chelsea was the highest.
This is great. Chelsea used the opportunity very well and it is good like this.

I like the way Chelsea is playing now and I can say that Chelsea's performance is better than Manchester United's own, Chelsea last three games have been good and from the look at the Chelsea team this season they will end up in a good position, Chelsea play against Barrow yesterday and they are the opportunity of winning the game and they win it, Chelsea coach is not like a Manchester united coach that will not want to use the good player's to play a game at the right time, I like the energy because scoring Barrow will improve their performance in their next coming game.

Chelsea's coach is someone who knows how to use players, a player like Joao Felix and Sancho are not happy with their former team but he brought them to Chelsea and they are having a good performance, I love a coach who makes sure they see a good future from a player and I think Chelsea to buy Sancho from Manchester united because it looks like he likes Chelsea and he can help the team.

Arsenal's match against Bolton tonight should be a walk in the park for Arsenal with multiple goals in both halves of the match. I don't see a situation where Bolton wanderers may overwhelme arsenal except Arsenal are going to field young and inexperienced players from their reserve team, so my prediction would be a win for the gunners and over 3.5 goals. For Liverpool, I think West Ham are going to score at least a consolation goal but Liverpool will win with a two goal margin, so for it's going to be 3 goals to 1 in favour of Liverpool. So tonight it's going to be a win win for both Liverpool and Arsenal in EFL, I can comfortably bet on these.
