Golem sees some nice rise in valuation lately, that's obv good for us. Eventually they will reach 20m and prepare the markets for decentralized computing.
When it comes to valuation of cc USD is still the best way to do it. Look as the BTC rally and how the prices of Alts basically stayed the same but ost against BTC. That shows perfectly that the market thinks in terms of USD and not BTC.
Yeah, I know, unfortunately that is the case. It just clearly shows this market consists mostly of non-believers in BTC. Most are in just for gambling and fast USD profits, and have no long-term plans for BTC alas... Sometimes I get an impression all this cryptocoin-world is just about 'get rich fast' schemes, and all the talk about advancing technology, creating a better financial future for all people, or about freedom from centralized banking, is just a beautiful 'trumpery' most people are not really interested in
its just easier to calculate in USD to have a comparison to other cryptos. In my opinion its a way better than something like .. 10x ROI.
I for example don´t switch back my coins to USD, and use all gains to invest and get a bigger portfolio of coins I like and see a future in.

That being said a marketcap for XEL at launch of 5mio seems reasonable and then depending on what exchanges etc i think the way above 20+ should be possible.

ICO cap was ca. 700 BTC at BTC prices way below 700 USD. Assuming average 500 USD per BTC, and average XEL price 120k/BTC (after increasing supply to 100M), a price above 0.0042 USD will be in profit. At current BTC price of 900 USD, exchange launch at ICO price of average 833 sat will give nice profit too (0.0075 - 0.0042 USD = ca. 78%).
i think 0.1 USD/XEL is realistic depending on the marketing
Why are you guys using fiat (USD) as base currency for your calculations? BTC should be the one, especially if you consider yourself crypto enthusiasts...
When you use USD for calculations, one might have an impression you are here just for the sake of increasing your USD wealth, and have no interest in crypto and tech..
We invested in BTC and the profits (if any) should be calculated in BTC. USD is irrelevant and is a legacy currency, isn't it..?
So anything less than 700-800 sat per XEL could not give any profit.

there are lots of shitcoins everywhere, but XEL is not one of them. The fact that everyone thought this was a scam ( and it probably was in the beginning) and after 9 months it happens to be a functioning coin tells how undervalue this coin was at ICO. This said, it will all depend on the smart developers and how far they will take this project.

XEL could have a lot of utility. We could look at some more interesting use cases. What I'd like to see is couple demos of solving real problems, not just a launch of an asset.
For example - it would be awesome if someone tried to solve some of the machine learning contests on Kaggle using XEL.
It is not enough to run network or to release final product, they need prove that decision is necessary and it offers better conditions than its competitors. If developers have to cope with all difficulties that I will be very happy but until I see only speculation.

Considering the price of similar projects like Golem and their state of development, this is a very very conservative price (should probably be around 25 btc or more).
