EMBERCOIN PRE-SWAP ANNOUNCEMENT

Ladies and Gentlemen, the bright future of Atheneum is upon us.  The last twelve months have been full of ups and downs.  But, your commitment and patience has been well worth it. On behalf of the Atheneum Team I am very happy to announce some very exciting news regarding details for the swap of your old Embercoins for your newly minted and shiny Atheneum Coins.

Please follow developments on our Discord channel!  https://discord.gg/NwqDppH

What version of the Embercoin wallet supports the swap?
Version 1.1.5.6 supports the swap, available here: https://github.com/AtheneumChain/Ember/releases

When is the swap?  Soon. Very soon.  Developers are finishing minor wallet cosmetics and are close to completing cross-chain development.  They are working feverishly to get this done ASAP.

How long will I have to swap my Embercoins for Atheneum?
The Swap is for 30 days. During the first two weeks, the rate is dynamic based on EMB supply / 25M. Redistribution bonus and other AEM allocations are made at the close of swap.

Week 1 swap = swappers get 100% of redistribution bonus
Week 2 swap = swappers get 50% of redistribution bonus
Week 3-4 swap =  no redistribution bonus, swap rate static to 350k to 1
all swap closes after 30 days - no exceptions.

So what’s the take away here?  Swap early for maximum value!
How will AEM be distributed?

The swap is really just the beginning of the Atheneum Project.  In order for Atheneum to fulfill its use-case as the world’s first ever Decentralized Autonomous Learning Organization (DALO), funds will need to be reinvested into the project.  One of the core values of this project is transparency.  In the spirit of transparency, below is a list of not only how EMB holders will be swapped to AEM but also how the remaining funds will initially be allocated after the swap:

The swap distribution consists of both dynamic and static values:
    - Immediate AEM Distribution (Dynamic)
    - Leftover AEM Redistribution (Dynamic)
    - Exchange Treasury (Static)
    - Marketing Treasury (Static)
    - Team Compensation (Static)
    - Donator Appreciation (Static)
    - Developer Bonus (Static)

Immediate AEM Distribution:
Amount: Dynamic
This value is created from swap participation and is determined by the swap rate corresponding to the week you submit your holdings.

Leftover AEM Redistribution:
Amount: Dynamic
We find it highly unlikely that we will see a 100% swap participation. As a way of saying thank you for supporting Atheneum, participators who swapped in Week 1 and Week 2 will be sent bonus AEM according to their holdings percentage after the swap finishes. This bonus will dynamically scale with swap participation and how much you receive depends on the time of participation. The total Leftover is calculated as: 25 Million minus Static Amounts minus Total Swap Participation.
.

Exchange Treasury:
Amount: 2,000,000
Holdings set aside for exchange listings is crucial to growing our reach and exposure by specifically targeting successful, high-volume exchanges.

Marketing Treasury:
Amount: 1,000,000
Our team will allocate AEM for airdrops, bounties, faucets, campaigns, and other marketing ventures.

Team Compensation:
Amount: 460,000
Many community members have placed a lot of time, effort, and funds to see this swap through and so will be reward for their time.

Donator Appreciation:
Amount: 41,466
To those who believed in this project by donating toward development, we will be gifting AEM back to you.

Developer Bonus:
Amount: 20,000
Last, but not least, we are very thankful for our developer's work. As a big thank you to them, we are giving them a bonus.

Here is an example to explain the swap math:
John Smith has 1 Billion EMB. If John swapped at today's swap rate of 317,408:1, he would have received 3,150.52 AEM. At the end of swap, the team sends out bonus redistribution. If there is 57% total participation, John's bonus would be:
- If he swapped in Week 1 (100% bonus): 1,621.43 AEM, an equivalent of 209,558:1 swap ratio
- If he swapped in Week 2 (50% bonus): 810.71 AEM, an equivalent of 252,447:1 swap ratio
- No bonus after Week 2

Market is starting to move. Most volume being traded in Cryptopia doge market right now is Ember. I recently acquired close to 1 Billion. Very cheap right now. No idea where the market will go, but I'm happy to give it a try !

Ember wallet explorer https://www.coinexplorer.net/EMB
And they are running /Ember:1.1.5.6/
So if you want to get going and have a good connection get on this version. I posted instructions a couple posts back on how to update your windows wallets.
Once updated you will be able to send and receive coins from this exchange.
https://c-patex.com

So if you are looking to get out, or get into Ember, now is your time !!!

Here is also a Blockchain Explorer for Ember. Once you update your wallet you will be able to search it as well as track everything ...

THERE IS NO REASON FOR THE MANDATORY UPDATE

If you want to get ready for the swap then simply download the update to a different wallet other then your ember wallet and follow these steps below. If you update and do away with the version you are running now, you may not be able to send or receive coins from the exchanges. The update in my opinion is to prepare you for the upcoming FORK/SWAP and you have a choice to also to not swap or fork. Don't let anyone tell you you have to follow them. This is a community coin and the choice is up to each person on their own. With that being said here is what I know ...

There is no need for a coin swap, this work below resolves connections to other peers as well as transfers your wallet information to the
new wallet update, and prepares you for the upcoming fork.

If you swap when the time comes, it's almost certain that the value of the coin will drop. I base this information
on past experience. Just because there is a fork coming doesn't mean jump ship. Simply buy the new ALT COIN, and also keep your Ember wallet.
The choice however is yours to make. But, I am here to tell you we are being forced to swap !!!

Here is how to prepare for the swap and get connections as well as an
updated blockchain in your wallet.

1). Into the console, type dumpwallet dump.txt.
2). Backup all files
3). Install New Wallet
4). Now delete wallet.dat file (make sure you have a backup)
5). Delete peers.dat file ( new wallet auto connects )
5). Place dump.txt file in same wallet folder where QT is.
6). Launch wallet - it creates new wallet.dat
7). On console type importwallet dump.txt
Cool. Backup new wallet.dat

I used Ember V1.1.5.2 to dump my text file
https://github.com/EmberCoin/Ember/releases

Link to Ember V1.1.5.3
https://atheneumchain.io/embercoin_wallet_update_v1_1_5_3/

I then ran V1.1.5.6 Imported text file to this version
https://github.com/AtheneumChain/Ember/releases/tag/1.1.5.6

I just simplified the instructions for all WINDOWS Ember wallet users !!!

Once your wallet is up and running DO NOT DELETE old QT
wallets. You never know when you may have refer back, Like I did !!!

Exchanges:

https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Exchange/?market=EMB_LTC
https://novaexchange.com/market/DOGE_EMB/
https://yobit.net/en/trade/EMB/DOGE
https://yobit.net/en/trade/EMB/ETH

I believe Cryptopia is running V1.1.5.0. However, even with the conf file and peers being removed from folder or left in the folder, there are no connections
when I start this version.

While running V1.1.5.6 I requested to withdraw 704 EMB from my Cryptopia Account to test my new wallet version.
Even though the withdraw history on Cryptopia shows the transaction of 700 coins is completed, I have not received coins in my Ember Wallet Version 1.1.5.6. My wallet also shows that its staking.

I also tested sending 700 Ember from my wallet to my Cryptopia account with V1.1.5.6. Ten confirmatioins where needed. However the coins never reached Cryptopia. This
confirms Cryptopia is using a lesser version wallet. Since I dont care to swap and since I like the partnership with exchanges I restarted V1.0.1 wallet with these ...

I at least get connections with V1.0.1 and start staking, but then they come and go. So I am content using this version and see if people will follow and also use V1.0.1.
If you are successful sending and receiving coins with any other version let me know!
https://bitbucket.org/EmberBlockProject/ember/downloads/Ember-qt_WIN_V1.0.1.0.zip

Yobit has the ember withdraw in maintenance mode !!!
Deposits on Yobit are also off still. They may be running V1.0.1.0 or older!

I didnt test Nova Exchange. Anyone with knowledge about this exchange and Ember?

It's fair to say that even though the devs are doing a good job with updates to the wallet, they obviously care only about the upcoming fork. This is made clear
by them not being able to persuade the exchanges to follow their updates. With that being said, if they continue, and we are left unable to transfer coins to and from exchanges if we
use each and every wallet they throw at us.

We do have a choice. I dont know about you, but I feel the confusion and constant updates is not fair so I am here to help you understand that you dont have to follow them. If you do follow keep in mind that you stand the chance of not being able to stake, and or send and receive coins. If you want the fork, simply continue running V1.0.1 and stake, but be ready for the swap by simply having the files you need in another folder and NOT IN THE SAME EMBER FOLDER. When they say you can swap simply shut down V1.0.1.0 and start up whatever version will be needed for you to send these new devs all your ember coins. For now, all we need to do is use the same wallet V1.0.1 and live happily with Ember, and not update the wallet ever, if you dont want to swap!

Embercoin have released the latest Ember wallet. Windows and Linux Headless are readily available; I will let you know when the Mac client is available.

Mandatory Update -  v1.1.5.6

This update can be performed normally, no special instructions required. However, some testers did need a dll file to open the newest wallet so we have provided that in the Windows zip if necessary. You can use it without it first, then if it doesn’t open, place the dll file in the Ember folder.

Always back up your Ember files before you do anything!!

Repository: https://github.com/AtheneumChain/Ember

If you guys have any questions, please let us know how we can help.

We have about 1,500 blocks until Proof-of-Work reengages. Have you grabbed the new update yet? Hopefully you're ready for it, because these exchanges and PoS pools are.

Read the process and get it here: https://atheneumchain.io/embercoin_wallet_update_v1_1_5_3/

THX you also have a GitHub source to compile the Wallet for the Raspberry Pi?
