I sold some coins couple of months ago considering it was end of bull run. But it made me regret. I feel like cryptomarkets are still in bull run as we keep seeing quick raises and soft corrections. Last big correction was dangerous although we are safe now.
There nothing to be sorry for, at that time you have made the right decision according to market condition, even then you assumed the bull run was over, so before the correction you immediately sell some of the coin you hold to secure the profit you have earned. After you sell some coins in your wallet, market conditions continue to improve so you regret and think you have made a big mistake. If the opposite happens after you make a sale, the coin that you hold continues to experience correction, Surely you feel the luckiest person in the world because you have made the right decision.
People concentrate too much on what it could have been and not in what they have in front of them, if they made a trade and they earned money and they are ahead of the profits given naturally by the market to those that just hold then they are ahead of the game, there is no reason to get worried about the fact that sometimes you are going to sell earlier than expected, that is natural and all traders need to get used to it as it is impossible to time the top or the bottom perfectly every single time.
You gotta learn, this is normal in trading, sometimes you make a bad decision so you need to improve your strategy. Everyday there's an earning opportunity as the market never sleeps, so if you just continue to learn and improve, there's a possibility that in the long run you will become more consistent and you'll end up profitable in investing.

Knowing the market behavior is very important, and you'll know it more if you have more experience.

Everyone's predictions about the market are not the same, no one dares to say when the bull market will end when the bear market has begun. The money is yours, you decide. If I were you, I'd sell some when I hit my target and the rest I keep holding for my next objectives.

This has been something I have found difficult to decide on . When this bill run ends in a couple of months time should I sell all my VET and XRP then buy back in when the market turns bearish until the next bullrun?

Or do I only sell a portion of what I have and hold the rest for another 4 years. Reason I am asking is could XRP and VET continue to rise once the bull run ends ? I obviously don’t want to sell all my tokens to find they are continuing to rise in a bear market

What are your thoughts ?

How do you plan on timing the market exactly?

I don't think that it's a good idea at all. You should have more time in the market if you want to actually make money in the long run, not try to time every bull and bear cycle.

A simple logical exercise: If there was indeed a way to time these bull/bear markets, then why isn't there way more billionaires? Timing 1 market cycle can probably give you 100%+ returns.

First and foremost, I don't think there's any one anywhere that can say for sure when a bull market will end, but then, anyone and every one can predict which also means guessing, alot of people have predicted November to be the end of the bull market, we all will live to see if this predictions comes true or not.

Concerning your holdings, if I were you, as long as I currently don't have any thing I need the money solve , I did just hold the coins until it hits my sell price target.

A lot of people will always say they want to sell and buy back at a certain time but currently the trend has changed, most people that left a trade because of the dumping market turns out to regret because they were left out. There is a difference between selling at your own target and selling because the market is dumping, and that's the one most people regret, to make it understandable, a lot of people who clamour Bitcoin will dump are those who tethered and still in tether USDT today, because they find it hard entering most coins again.
Another thing is, you can hardly sell at the top, so better you have a target and when to exit the trade , because waiting for a particular time to dump, you might end up disappointed, look at Sol and most coins that pumped massively irrespective of the market, you will understand more.

The only thing to regret is to sell when you think bull run is over, otherwise there is nothing wrong there. Bull run is a long term thing as well, bitcoin always ends up higher and higher and that is why I doubt that people should end up selling thinking they will not make a profit. I can't say all coins will go up, but most big names will keep on going up for the long term so there is no reason to sell unless you are trading and he doesn't sound like he sold because he was trading.

This is why the mistake there is to sell thinking the profit to be made is over, but it was still there, never sell your coins if you think that in the long run it could still make you a profit. I personally believe that my bitcoins will keep making me profit forever, that is why I would never sell them unless I need the money. However, I do understand the logic of not understanding or predicting the right time when it will go down or up, I have been here for years and never understood it neither.

Selling everything when a bull run ends is definitely not that bad but if you are still thinking that they can be more profitable in the next bull run, then leave a portion of them for long term holding. After all, once you have gained profits already in times of bull run so it just means you were never in loss. You will only lose if you sell them at a very low price.

I agree. As long as we don't sell something, we are less likely to make a loss. but it may not make much sense to sell a coin whose price has already fallen, in which case we have a high chance of losing our money. Some coins can be revived in the next bull and make a lot of money, some coins can disappear completely, at such times we can be upset that we do not sell even if the price is low.

I think instead of time it could be price. That way whenever that price hits then you can sell and you will be fine. I have my own goal, I want to have enough money to retire and never work again, well maybe work for fun because I like my job more and more every day, but I want to work not for just money but for fun, I want to be able to not work and still have enough money if I want to.

I do have a number in my mind for that and that is why I keep saving money and putting it in crypto, lately it has been quite difficult because of some life stuff happened in early august, but I am doing much better now, and that is why I am quite happy with the life I have right now. Just accumulate more and more and more crypto until one day the fiat amount is good enough to retire. That way I do not have to worry about ups and downs, they are irrelevant until I reach that number.

I've got the same dream as yours, trying to find ways to have an early retirement and enjoy more time with my kids.

A day job helps me to save my needs but not enough to fulfill my dreams, and here comes crypto investment where opportunities are still
wide open for everyone, it's not about how fast you earned but the system that you'll going to use.

Saving portions of your saving to crypto is a good way to save for your future, just calm yourself if you notice some dump happened Roll Eyes it's a part of the cycle so instead of worrying yourself it's best to add more, you are buying cheaper and keeping it for the chance that it will grow and let you earn more.

Never look for exact time , instead you must schedule your own decision time when to sell, Know what? you are only showing how Greedy you are for looking about the highest gain you can find but once fails then cries allot for  losing.
Sell when you are comfortable with the price no matter if this will increase tomorrow or decreases tomorrow.
set your own exit plan and not relying on observation .

If you are not a fan of this field and will pay a lot of attention to it, and you are just an investor looking for profit. You can be comfortable and confident in what you are holding if you can keep it until 4 years later, through your investment I can only see your dependence on people, but it may not be suitable suits you. Spending time researching with it is more helpful than getting advice from many points of view.

We never know when the bear market will come, whatever choice you make now make sure it's the best thing to do, so you don't regret it in the future.
selling some or all of it depends on your needs, if it's not urgent it's better to choose some but if there is an urgent need it's okay to sell everything.

Very good advice, XRP and VET will be a very good investment for the long term, Moreover, these two coins have very good potential for the future. Especially for XRP it has been very well tested in the crypto market, XRP proved to be able to rise from adversity when the SEC sued XRP some time ago. After an appeal in court, XRP was able to win a lawsuit from the SEC, after that XRP was able to bounce back to a better track.
On occasions like now I only really believe in XRP and not in VET, although some people are still very confident in both, but personally I will only look at and choose XRP only in terms of looking for profits in a certain period of time.
All traders will buy the best coins according to their own analysis. When faced with two choices, XRP is slightly better than VET, because XRP is able to prove itself as one of the coin to be reckoned with in the crypto market. The lawsuit from the SEC is strong evidence that the XRP team is very serious about developing their project so that XRP is able to bounce back after being hit by negative issues. As a savvy trader, of course, will include XRP in their Portfolio list.

When the bear market hits, I believe everything will have an influence, therefore there is practically no possibility that the currency will move up. Some freshly issued coins may go up, but they will quickly fall due to the bad market's impact. If you are confident in your decision, you may keep your coin for a few years until the next bull comes, or if you are unsure, you can wait until the deepest deep and purchase then.
In bear market.

There will also be those coins that shall flee the bear market for the meantime. They will be different from the majority that's experiencing bear market.

It's likely that they're doing the opposite in a limited time but still, they'll join with the bears later.
Not all would really correlate when it comes to their price movement which basically means that there are some who dipped down and some who do go to the opposite side but when bear market turns out to be that severe

then they would follow later on which isnt something new kind of situation on this market.Sell everything while still on bull run? not a bad idea because thinking off that there would be always a correction that comes next

and on the time you do see the opportunity on securing profits then do it as long you wont really be regretting that you had missed out some good opportunity for you to make.
Selling all in the bull run isn't really a bad idea. While you've planned everything including the buy back, that's really one of the best strategy and profit taking style.

Learning from your personal experience that you haven't taken a profit in the past bull run will make you agree on this.

There is no way to know when bull run ends, sometimes market will fall dramatically and after a few days it will pump again. If we only know the exact date of the bullish and bearish market then we can all be millionaire right away, the problem is we don't know when, everything her is just a prediction and speculation but the truth is no one knows everything about crypto.

What you say is true, no one knows what will happen. Only those from the future can know Smiley
Everyone talks about bear season when prices start to drop a little. When it rises, they says we are in bull. We're used to it now, we can see something different every day. One day we will all be millionaires Smiley
We will all be millionaires if we always prevent our investments from huge losses and i think it will be very hard for us because losses are definitely inevitable. With this crypto market that is always unpredicted, its always an advantage if we know the right timing when to sell and when to hold.
