This table is quite interesting because it almost feels like if it was misleading. The scoring statistics for Ajax are beyond doubt out of this world and yet the other teams managed to stay somewhat close to Ajax. However, I think that in the end it will be a fight between Feyenoord and Ajax. They are usually the most constant teams and Ajax also has proven to be the most constant because of the Champions League where there performance so far was just superb.

there was a say that title is not win by 6:0 wins, it is won by 1:0 wins that are consistent
Ajax is playing great, but they lost some points in easy matches, and that could add-up in the end

I think that Ajax will get title winning streak when they left Champions League, because at the moment CL seems as a priority for them, and after both wins over Dortmund, they left points in Ere division

Yep totally agree, well said! You could see that once with Atletico Madrid when the led the table not because they scored the most (which they didn't), but because they didn't concede any goals. Madrid and Barcelona had these monstrous scoring statistics while Atletico didn't, but the decisive difference was that they won all those games 1:0.

Now to be fair here, the reason I said that this table is misleading is the fact that Ajax has BY FAR the best defense as well. This is why I pointed that out. But the two goals they conceded cost them so much that despite the 37 scored they are still only 4 points ahead from the fourth.

I definitely agree, Ajax but also PSV have triple loads but not as big squads as other teams for example in the Champions League. Ajax will spend the winter in the Champions League, and wait and see what opponent they get in the next round. But if a big load falls away Ajax will increase the gap in the league, I'm sure, possibly even a reinforcement of the Champions League money is fetched in the winter.

When Ajax performed so well in the Champions League last time and afterwards sold a couple of key players like de Ligt, I really thought that might get a big bump into their short term future, but here they are again. Performing outstandingly well in the league and in the Champions League and damn, these guys are hungry for sure. In the next round of the Champions League I am sure that whoever gets them as an opponent, it is not like you would say yeah, we got an easy one. Ajax is on fire once more!

Ajax lead with different goals only, they should be must careful and watch the step, while PSV performance prepares to gradually good after got big lost 0-5 with Ajax. We should pay attention to Feyenoord, they left 1 match didn't play yet which is possible will be at the top after defeating Zwolle. After the international break, we can see fierce battles between, ajax, PSV and Feyenoord. I was thinking the position wouldn't much change if all 12 and 13 matches have not been played.

I also noticed that Ajax's form has gone down a little in the Eredivisie considering the last two weeks especially. Maybe it is because they are focused on the Champions League more than the Eredivisie now. We can clearly see how great they are performing in the Champions League right now. They destroyed all of their opponents so far in the end. But they should be aware that they should gather themselves up here as soon as possible too. Otherwise, it seems quite probable that they can lose their lead in the standings.

in Champions League Ajax got 12 points in 4 matches and secured promotion to the next stage from 1st place. now it's time to focus on domestic league. It has next two matches away at RKC Waalwijk and Sparta Rotterdam.

I agree. Ajax are already very comfortable in the Champions League as they have guaranteed promoting to the next round being the leader. They must focus on the Eredivisie from now on indeed. They are still capable of dominating the season again. While they were not focusing on their domestic league matches, PSV and Feyenoord got very close to Ajax in the table. It is time for Ajax to open the gap again.

Ajax is doing very well in the Champions League and maybe the international break will help to recharge the batteries a little bit and attack fully in the domestic league again. But I also have to say Ajax has only conceded 2 goals in the league and lost one game, so still fully on course, in the end they will win the championship again with 6 points or more advantage I think.

Was also very surprising for me, but it is so and PSV is now back on par with Ajax in the table. So the championship remains exciting, but the defense of Ajax is this year very very good again not get a goal. Possibly Ajax does the international break also good to gather new energy.

it is a long season, Ajax obviously prioritize CL to Eredivisie, since they are playing just great in CL so far
Feyenoord and PSV are trying their best in the league, but it will be hard for them to keep up with Ajax during whole season, and I think that Ajax will win the title in the end

it is not the best tactics, PSG had same last season in France, and lost title to Lille, because they were nervous in last rounds, when Lille was on the top

Ajax couldn't get wins for two weeks. They played very dominant against Heracles and G.A. Eagles but both of these matches ended by 0-0. Ajax got 29 shots in their last match against G.A. Eagles but only 5 of them were on target. They are having very big problems on scoring lately and this caused them to not being able to pull away from their opponents. PSV and Feyenoord both won their last two matches and they are right behind Ajax now. It can be a really interesting and competitive season if this goes on like that. And I hope so.

And Ajax dropped points in Eredivisie, another goaless draw, this time with Go Ahead Eagles. They completely dominated game but didn't managed to score against Eagles bus.
In other game Feyenoord achieved dramatic win against AZ thanks to Dessers goal scored on 92th minute. Feyenoord is 2 points behind Ajax and PSV, but have game in hand, so, they are potentially leaders.
Ajax is still favourites, but it seems that's not going to be so easy as most of us expected.

yeah, Ajax is still top favorite, but Feyenoord and PSV are keeping close to the top
Feyenoord win is showing a lot of potential for them, I expect from them to reach at least semi-final in Conference league, and Dutch teams are having European revival with Ajax in CL competition, where they are playing spectacular (this could be a reason for some draws in Ere-divisie, too many matches in Europe competition, and they are trying hard in them)

and Willem II lost one more match, they are sliding to second part of the table, I think that they are already happy to have secured staying next season in Ere divisie, and would not play until the end of the season Smiley

Ajax couldn't get the result they wanted against Heracles away as it ended in a 0-0 draw. Ajax totally dominated the game of course but they weren't able to score any goal. And all of their closest opponents in the standings have got close to them this week. PSV, Utrecht and Feyenoord all won their games and decreased the point gap with Ajax by 2. PSV are only 2 points behind Ajax now. It looks like that this time Ajax won't be able to pull away so easily.

actually PSV is equal on points with Ajax - both have 27 after 12 matches. Feyenoord has 25 points but after 11 matches so potentially could take the 1st spot if wins delayed match.

Feyenoord won by late goal in overtime, 0:1, but important win that keeps them in the top, one game behind, and four points below Ajax
it was a boring match, Feyenoord had it, but could not execute goal, and finally make it in overtime

Utrecht trashed Willem II 5:1, and they are third, while Willem II has four matches without a win, and slides to position 8
That was a close call for feyenoord it was going to be a disapointement if they didnt win that  game after the good performance they showed with 66% possesion and 15 goal attempts plus their opponent was in a bad situation with five games without a win and this type of games is really difficult, psv and feyenoord are the two teams that were able to take advantage of this round since ajax team could not win against heracles.

though PSV and Feyenoord just several points behind Ajax I think that Ajax team is far superior and could easily overcome rivals in head-to-head matches. also Utrecht which is 3rd now will slide down in table.

A very unexpected result today, Ajax playing a draw against a team struggling at the bottom of the table, is the team more focused on the upcoming Champions League game?
Seems like Ajax and several big clubs in another league got lost also and they are in the play champions league the next few days, that was possible what you think. Only 2 points left and following Ultrech with 3 points if won versus Willem II tonight. Ajax must be careful in the next step, they have better on the champions league, always win, and be on Top, I think Ajax must not over-focusing on the match yet (vs Dortmund)

Unfortunately I didn't see the game, did Ajax play with their best fprmation or did they rotate after the tough programme and spare some key players?

We can say that Ajax is the Champion this year. They beat their biggest rival PSV 5-0. This score is a sensational score. PSV failed to show any presence. However, it was a big surprise that they drew 0-0 with Heracles yesterday.  PSV beat Twente 5-2. As Ajax failed to defeat Heracles, they lost their big advantage. At the moment, the difference in points is only 2. Still, I think Ajax will be the champion.

I think so too, Ajax have also only conceded 2 goals in the league, sensational. The only rival for me this season is PSV and as you write, the 5:0 was like an execution. But the season is still long.

Of course there are many matches to go, but I believe that playing in the Champions League is no extra burden for Ajax, but rather extra motivation and a way that forces them to keep their game level as high as possible. I don't think PSV can beat Ajax over the course of the season. Ajax has once more a very solid squad.
