You can use the same, because BIP32 paths would differ. BIP44 specifies these paths like this:
m / purpose' / coin_type' / account' / change / address_index
Registered coin types: http://doc.satoshilabs.com/slips/slip-0044.html

First LTC address would have path: m / 44' / 2' / 0' / 0 / 0 compared to BTC path: m / 44' / 0' / 0' / 0 / 0 and maybe in the future you may have Doge: m / 44' / doge_constant' / 0' / 0 / 0 or others

Actually, I just looked into this over at the litecointalk forums, and there is talk of supporting Trezor in the next stable release of Electrum LTC

This is all true, but such discussion belongs to the the forum of respective software users like. I believe that the Trezor devs did provide Pi shields to Multibit devs one year ago and they still decided to postpone the support to MBHD which seems to never happen. There is not much more we can solve here... The device is out there and if Multibit still does not want to provide support for thousands of users who have it, they will loose those users.

And frankly, if you have BIP32 implemented (which I highly recomment for *all* wallets) then supporting Trezor is not that hard.

IMO, the trezor web wallet has enough functionality, to not need another BTC client along with it. You can see the balances without needing to log into anything, and you can send coins with ease. I guess if you want to be able to send BTC from your mobile device, you should also have a blockchain.info wallet or coinbase or something like that, but as far as savings go, you don't really need anything beyond the trezor wallet...

For smartphone spending, I use Mycelium, which is quite well thought out. For saving, I love my Trezor as is (with mytrezor.com), and will absolutely buy another one as a backup. However, I still think I need some serious time and regular use to feel comfortable to get rid of paper wallets, and go all-in with the Trezor. I can see that happening, but just not yet. With paper wallets, I know that I am in complete control, and that gives me comfort.

at present mytrezor requires you to download a browser plugin, and to transact using a site developed by the makers of the hardware. since the whole point of getting a trezor is to increase the security of your stash, and diminish your need to trust anyone, the setup is less than ideal.

now you could review their code and satisfy yourself that it does not introduce vulnerabilities. but the trezor developers themselves cannot expect everyone to go this route, since the device is intended for average users. which is why it is important for other wallets to incorporate trezor compatibility.

I have never used multibit before, but I was planning on trying it out, once they added trezor support. With my trezor, I have basically been just using the web wallet that comes with it. It gives me enough functionality without confusing me with too much extra stuff. I like the ability to be able to just log onto the web page to see balances as a watch only page (until you plug in the trezor)

I don't care if they are disposable and made from recycled cardboard. I want to see someone make these cheap.

In time it will come. The hardware is already cheap. On my receipt it said like 15 or 20 dollars for the trezor and 90 or 95 dollars (or something similar) for "security services". I think its fair. I do hope however hope that they will gradually start lowering the prices. Some people like myself were excited enough about this project to spend >100 dollars and they captured people like me. I paid it. But there are many people out there who are excited but not >100 dollars excited. If they start lowering their prices maybe 10 or 20 dollars at a time, they will be able to capture the people who are excited but not as excited as me. Once they saturate the market for people who are willing to pay >100 dollars they will find themselves in the situation of choosing between no profit or less profit. I'm sure they will chose the latter.
