Trezor introduced a new security standard called Shamir backup which is basically a way to split backup seeds. It's not available in the Trezor one so I couldn't try it, but could someone who did give us his thoughts about the subject?

Hm, today I update the new firmware on my Trezor One, after that, I have a new look of my first screen on them. Now I am not sure is it comes with the new firmware or I have a hardware problem. i did a couple of transactions and everything seems to be fine.

It is a new security feature. The appearance of these randomly generated white pixels mitigates the recently discovered OLED display information leak. Trezor T is not affected since it uses a different type of display. You can learn more about this vulnerability here.

What makes a strong passphrase? How much does it cost to brute-force a passphrase? Should you use a passphrase for your Trezor?
Is your passphrase strong enough?

-Option 1: A random sequence of words
-Option 2: A random-character passphrase
-Option 3: A valid English sentence

Does anyone have an idea about Trezor accepting new translation requests on their Crowdin? I've sent a request and emailed them as they requested but still no responses for a few months now.

The last update of the translation project from SatoshiLabs was almost 6 months ago. It looks like they have given up. Most of the translations were complete, but some users started to paste translations from Google Translate and some entries were erased (even the correct ones).

Feature suggestion: offer the sale of gift codes/vouchers redeemable for Trezors. Such codes could be given out in contests or raffles, removing the concern that a device may have been tampered with, especially if it's being sent by someone lacking a good reputation.

I reached out to their support on the official Telegram channel and it turned out that this feature was probably on their roadmap. Anyway, Trezor employee promised to forward your suggestion to the marketing department.

How much time do updates take to go from Beta to the official wallet? I've seen a blog article in December 2018 about supporting Ethereum without using MEW, and apparently, that's still not available?

There is no fixed time. I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to move all coins to their new wallet, which is currently used by XRP and ETH, before pushing changes to the normal branch.

Later today I am going to update all my Trezors so I will report back the update time.

He asked about something different. Software updates don't take much time, especially on Trezor T which has a faster CPU than the previous model.

That is an even bigger problem because if that is true one might ask himself where the re-sellers are getting their products from?

Resellers may have sourced their products from a legitimate source but all of that is for naught if Amazon decides to commingle the same product from different sellers to save money.

I'd never take any chances with hardware wallets.

Even if they're official resellers, Amazon has or used to have a problem where even if you bought a product from an official re-seller, you can receive a counterfeit product.

If some of them are counterfeit, they weren't delivered by Trezor.

Unless they are official re-sellers I would not trust them.

amazon has reputable sellers (but still be careful picking one) and are generally supported by trezor as a safe reseller.
This is still a problem. They are trustworthy sellers - yes, but can they distinguish a fake or manipulated hardware wallet from a real one?
Unless they are official re-sellers I would not trust them. It doesn't have to be that they are the ones who tampered with the device but the third party who sold it to them could have.

Why take a chance to save a few days and dollars on shipping? Just buy direct from Trezor.

Is it really worth buying from an unofficial source just to save $40? Especially if it's to be used for storing non-insignificant amounts of money.

I would say "probably not", but tbh if its in original packaging, passes a visual inspection (trezor site has some pages that help with this), and you create a new seed/password/pin - then you're very unlikely to have any problems.
