Poor Blacklist Rivalry, they've lost the first map against Execration. It's funny that Palos came from Execration then moved with Kuku to Team Darleng and now with Blacklist but they keep on losing against these teams.

I'm having this feeling that Geek Fam is going to get this one slot for the SEA.
That only means Blacklist Rivalry has more problems aside from the position 1 department, and they can't underestimate the OQ teams.

I agree Geek Fam should qualify since they have been solid even in the previous qualifier, where they fell short against AR.
Another grand finals curse for Geek Fam. I was really impressed with their run but it seems that they've fallen short to this ESL One Birmingham journey.

Congratulations to Talon Esports.

They are qualified to the ESL One B'ham, coming from the lower bracket going to the grand finals and getting that slot for the SEA region.

Just, wow, straight 3-0 for the team that everyone thought was going to get that one SEA slot.

Funny how BIG went from losing to Nexus ( a fresh CS2 team from Romania ) , then beating Heroic on edge and today beating C9 too. It seems that disband pressure is real and they want to go as deep as they can in the Blast Major but personally , I still think they lack strategy and don't know how to play important moves but also check on time as well while they doing it... Embarrassed
I also didn't expect BIG to eliminate C9 the other day and thought maybe the stomping loss they got from VP broke them.

Riyadh Masters and Animajors would be a great improvement to the content that we're receiving from ESL and Betboom. These guys know how to produce a good tournament. They could improve the tournament format by a bit, but entertainment and quality wise, they are miles ahead. There's just not enough games or tournaments going around at this point that it's hard to look at the dota scene. Most are just minor tournaments with a lot of unmotivated teams joining for the sake of the prize money.

There isnt that much to improve on the tournaments rules I guess as I'd rather have week full of action packed games like this rather than prolonging it but yeah so far ESL sponsored tournaments are decent but how I wish we get another regular sponsors throughout the year. Anyway Animajors was fantastic, its different than the regular major and this one just hit different.

Weplay was the sponsor for Animajor though but I guess they decided to not sponsor again huh

On the other hand, Aurora who's also a strong team has been kicked already for this ESL One Birmingham closed qualifiers. On the other bracket, Bleed Esports won against Talon Esports.

I'm having this feeling that Geek Fam is going to get this one slot for the SEA.

For Dota , the prize money on this one is big in my opinion as 1st place takes home 300k but also a direct invite to Esports World Cup

Kinda wondering where do you get this from because liquipedia doesnt list it

Its great though if there is going to be an Esports World Cup or something huge like that. Heck yeah even another Riyadh Master would be wonderful as currently dota2 pro scene is pretty dry with only ESL and Betboom that sponsors most of the tournament. Tournaments hosted by Betboom are targeting audience from EEU region so yeah anything with larger scope would be great
Yeah, he doesn't seem to be reading the previous posts because having been here twice and did not disclose his source on this yet.

@boltz BiG playing in the Blast Premier Spring groups 2024 and are up against others so that Nexus match must be in a different tournament. As I had never had heard of them before either.

I also can't find any trace about the Esports World Cup, but ESL's overview page did give a small hint since they still have one big tournament in July (same month as the Riyadh Masters).

Even without the invite, the amount of EPT points for the tournament winner is nearly the same as securing an invite, given there are only three EPT tournaments leading up to the possible Esports World Cup.

They want an all Filo players to their roster and it's a major achievement if ever they win some majors.

I heard some rumours about this, well not really a rumours but more of a statement from 23savage iirc. Something that says, if you let more than 1 filipinos in the team then slowly that team will turn into an all filipinos team. So yeah I guess filipinos loves to stick together in a team huh
Yeah, it hit the social media and the Dota 2 community for the SEA for months and even until now. He's known for flaming that situation because he was kicked on the roster and I think that was with T1.

and personally I dont really mind this as long as the teams are showing great results
I also don't mind that. What I want to see is everyone winning and showing that they're the greatest players and teams currently. This is all about competition and it's understandable for 23savage when he's said that because it's painful when you got kicked after being with the team you helped.

But don't forget that it has also helped you back then. Anyway, if you watch contents about him from other dota 2 streamers, they always get to flame and startle him because he's easily pissed off in the pubs.

This is the typical prize pool for a $1M tournament that once we called the 'majors' but they don't call it majors anymore.

but also a direct invite to Esports World Cup , an event who will have his first phase this year and as far as we know , the prize pool on that one will be similar to Riyadh Masters.  Shocked
I've msised the Esports World Cup but basically, the prize pool on that tournament isn't that much compared to Riyadh Masters. AFAIK, the two huge prize pool last year was Riyadh Masters and then the TI. I don't see any detail about the EWC but if compared in the past, they don't have much compared to the two.

I cant' believe my eyes how well VP is currently playing CS2 and it gets very frustrating for their opponents to actually play the game because VP is never on eco and that makes every round a bit harder no matter what.

Currently they are playing C9 and score is 1-0 for VP with 2nd map on the way and I think VP will find a way to win Anubis too.

ESL One Birmingham 2024 is back this year! More than this , it seems both Dota 2 and CS2 will have a major here.

Nice to hear there will be some more venues and thus new tournaments so to keep the Esports action going!
Been watching the Blast series and Team Liquid seems to be turning their squad's performance around.
Faze were heavy favorites going against Team Spirit 1.16x to their 6.80x today. They were rolling along last I looked 6-0 and were just cruising along for taking the map.

Esports World Cup? More information as it is available would be welcomed such as the potential venue and start date.
First I have heard of this happening in the DOTA2 arena of play. Sounds like bringing all the teams from different tiers under one roof to let them duke it out.

Nigma already got their next members in. Its Fbz and Matthew from SA, I believe Matthew used to be a captain as well so he could probably spit out some sense into Kuroky's numb skull
Matthew is a good one.

And if Kuro is going to pass on his captaincy on him then that's much better as for the team to have a fresher mind. But on this one, it is for sure that he'll still be a captain.

While for Matthew, this is a good exposure for him as he get to play and explore another region coming from the South America region.

Have not heard of this problem within the CounterStrike qualifiers before but there seems to be a rather big topic of discussion amongst pro-players with the use of anticheats and this one company who has covered up exposures of several individuals who have participated in these cheats performed and some have got away with a quarter of a million with promotions due to the cheats used.

Well this happened alot and not only only cs2, there were few cases on dota2 as well especially on covid19 era because there were alot of online tournaments. Its pretty hard to spot this type of cheats especially on online tournaments and the only consequences you will get from this is a lifetime ban on online tournaments so yeah its not that they are going to put you in jail or something hence few people will always exploit this

Here is the story about it used during a Source 2 open-qualifiers competition recently:

As we're just talking about the first removal from Nigma.Galaxy, there goes the two new additions for another qualifier. They're not going to do good if they keep on changing roster and I think that they're aware of that when they will be just with these players for a very short period of time.

Good to see kiyotaka back on 9Pandas. And for Raven, I think that there will be a lot of opportunities that will be open for him but isn't he playing other roles in the pubs lately?
In my view, this change was a must for Nigma when their previous roster couldn't even beat the other MENA teams like Winter Bear and teams don't have the luxury to wait this season in hopes of improving their teamwork when the qualifiers can be scheduled a few months early.
I guess that I will just wait until what happens to this new roster that they have and that is because, they're also doing everything they can to get back on track and be at the top again. It's been so long that we haven't watched them with major tournaments and they are experimenting continuously for years but, I just wish them to have a good run this season.

I don't follow Raven, but I did see some comments mentioning that he initially wanted the offlane role, and he had no other choice since the org already got Gabbi.
I have heard that there's the "CEO" player on the roster for Blacklist and that is Tims. He's like the one who makes decisions on who's going to get kicked and hired if he does like or doesn't like the performance of his teammates.

IMHO, they're past with their prime expect for Gabbi and Abed. They want an all Filo players to their roster and it's a major achievement if ever they win some majors.

As for raven, I thought that he's playing some pos 4 pubs or it was just a meme that I've read. I think that he's doing the right thing of transitioning into an offlane just like what Gabbi did. He might be taken by some other teams that lacks an offlane but he has to prove himself first since the pos 1 category has a lot of new, younger and aspiring talents.

With Kuroky that's probably the last thing to happen when he seems to be the guy that would easily de-escalate those heated situations.

Anyway I totally like the new EPT rules, roster kept getting changed almost like every 2 weeks or so. Any teams that has no point so far could be changing their roster if things dont work out for them and its even better for a team that want to switch out or try a new member for the team, there wont be any penalty for switching 1 player
