I'm currently watching DotA 2 DreamLeague Season 22 Southeast Asia Closed Qualifier. It's a surprise that Team Darleng made it to the CQ Finals. I honestly didn't expect this, considering the team Darleng players origins are being kicked. Also, they don't have a boot camp compared to most of their opponents. I was expecting Blacklist International to win this CQ.

Game 5 now for Finals CQ. Hoping for Team Darleng to win this series. This match will be totally upset if they win this series. GL all.
I've watched the match, the last 2 maps were too terrible for Team Darleng. It was a total disaster on them when they're just 1 win away and able to 2-1 the entire series. Map 4 was a choke on them and they were outdrafted and the same goes for the map 5. I thought that they're going to win with the map 5 but it's totally far and can't be considered a close game.

The game was one sided and Aurora really deserved the win and the slot for the main event of this season's Dream League. So from 2-1, it became a sweep of 2-3 done by Aurora. It's still experience that paid off for the Aurora and they know how to control their map and made a lot of good calls for back ups protecting their core.

Whilst for the Team Darleng, they've made a lot of bad decisions and with those few small bad decisions, Aurora managed to capitalized them and used it against them. Well, it was still a good run for Team Darleng when this Kuku stack team have made it far and I guess that we're going to see another team that's going to be taken by their sponsor.

The LCK is finally back and will kick off later today, as we have one of the best matchups on the first day, which is T1 vs Gen G (World Champs vs LCK Summer Champs).

I have no idea who will win this series, and that's why i've bet on the over 2.5 maps. I'm hoping for Gen G to keep this as competitive as possible since they've upgraded their lineup even further as they now have Canyon as their new Jungler.

Edit: The 2-1 came in as expected.  Wink

That sucks, you've been in the lower bracket and you did it easily to go to the grand finals just to lose straight 3-0 without winning any single game. That truly sucks for Tundra Esports on the BetBoom Dacha tournament, the team that's going to represent Western Europe for that tournament is none other than team OG!

Why is it that when we're going to hear a tournament that's going to happen somewhere in MENA, the prize pool is always a whopping $1M? I guess that's the reason why they're building this region to be one of the best regions after all to conduct esports tournaments as part of their plan and projecting to be the esports hub and lounge of the entire world.

Now the slots for this tournament is completely full and we just need to wait and see for the actual tournament to happen on February and who's excited to see Team Spirit play again? Vacations done and taking cash prizes are in it on them as they're part of this tournament as invited.

Edit : Tundra won easily against Secret...
They are on the finals now and facing OG but the current score is 2-0. And that's two easy games for OG while Tundra is struggling at the end.

While on some other tournaments, the APAC Predator league has got a champion already and that's Blacklist Rivalry. It's obviously a sponsored tournament by Acer Predator and the price might not that much be compared to the others.

But at least, Blacklist is now a champ on that tournament.  Grin

Well ...yea , it seems Tundra do have a future in esports but Pure is still on a loan and BetBoom manager said that he will only stay for 2-3 max tournaments with Tundra. Right now they are playing against Secret and Tundra already won 1st map but 2nd map looks like a bit in favor of Secret + Radiance is winning a lot lately and we rarely see Dire to win.  Undecided

I totally find this hard to believe because there is no way that Team Tundra would be able to sneak in extra players or whatsoever onto the team without the permission from the entire players + coach. Tundra were not good enough last season because GG was dominating last season alongside Team Liquid as runner up so its just kinda make sense if they bring in Topson hoping to change things around
I have the same thoughts. Most of the best players were already playing for a team, and Saksa becoming inactive was a huge blow when a solid supporting duo could enable the team.

I guess its going to be a while until NGX really shows up how good they are then Team Falcons is going to dominate MENA
Or it might not even happen when there's PSG Quest that's not far behind Team Falcons. We'll see how good they can hold in the Dreamleague qualifiers, as Team Falcons is waiting for them in the next round.

Rumors are that Tundra will not even catch a first major together in this format and I think this is all Topsons fault for actually making this esports team being how it is today. Pure transfer also didn't bring any positive improvement in their gameplay.
I don't think that topson should be blamed here, he's just contacted if he wants to play for Tundra and he just obliged and answered the call.

Tundra is on the lower bracket for the BetBoom Dacha Dubai qualifier and they're going to be against Team Tickles there in 2 hours time. And that settles their faith on the qualifier if they will proceed or not.

While for the DreamLeague qualifier, they'll be against Team Secret in 2 days time.
Yep , the game is about to start right now and I won't be surprised to see Team Tickles winning one map or the entire series.
Tundra won 2-0 and they're going to face Team Secret in less than 14 hours.

Regarding Topson , there have been words in Dota 2 pro scene from sneyking but also Skitter that since Topson arrived at Tundra ( without any of the players actually agreeing with this one )  the entire mojo and chemistry between players went away and soon after most of them left the team. Anyway , I'm so curious to see what will happen in this series against Tickles.
Ohhh, I didn't know about that.

I can understand the feeling from the former players of Tundra that there's the chemistry that they've been but if they weren't asked for any approval for the replacement and adjustment of their players since Saksa wasn't, I would also be hurt with that.

But anyway, I hope that both parties are going to be successful with their each teams and transfers.

This was too close, I thought NGX would win after they won the 1st map then everything just went south all of sudden. I guess its going to be a while until NGX really shows up how good they are then Team Falcons is going to dominate MENA

I have watched the last series of BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024: CN and SEA Closed Qualifier, the grand finals and qualifying round which was with Azure Ray and Geek Fam. I was amazed on how Geek Fam managed the 0-2 into 2-2 but then at the end of the series, they've ended choking. It looks like that they weren't the team that played for those two straight games win.

Not really a fan of both of those region. In fact if I have to pick a favourite region that would be WEU region and MENA for now, there are several top teams on MENA including NGX which makes this region pretty interesting compared to the old SEA region. As for WEU, the new Tundra is a good team to watch on because Pure on pos 1 is a beast though with Topson and MC as well

Anyway, betting on NGX because Im a huge fan  Cool

But I understand, first, their opponent is Azure Ray, despite with the roster change it's still a strong team that anyone can consider. Second, they might be exhausted with all of the games that they've been through the lower bracket. So, before they match against the Azure Ray, they've already made 2 games straight wins against IHC Esports. But then, one of the players of the IHC esports posted on his social media account about the turning off the electricity against them that have made them lose the 2nd game.

Anyway, I was just disappointed at the map 5 but maps 3 and 4, they're all amazing. I advise anyone here that have missed it to watch because it's truly something special and if you just want to have good dota 2 viewing, stop when the map is on the 5.

You mean they don't already in LoL and DOTA2? Inter-regional play would be the next step for any sports whether that be in real (think of what UEFA is all about) or in the virtual space of what esports is today to reach that next level and expand it's viewship.
I mean, isn't that what sports is all about: Getting as many eyes on the matches being played thus bring in a larger fanbase.
The whole purpose of sports started from the very beginning that being the Olypmics.

Anyways, we have the European qualifiers ending today for this tournament.

The first ever CS2 Major RMR Open qualifiers are happening right now!!

After a long and cold break, finally some esports is back!
Already been few upsets as OG and Heroic are out but there are 4 spots to be taken for the closed qualifiers!

https://www.hltv.org/events/7393/pgl-cs2-major-copenhagen-2024-europe-rmr-open-qualifier-1
Honestly, wouldn't really consider OG and Heroic as massive upsets when the game just broke out and they pretty much have less than 6 months to prepare for the whole thing. Plus there's a whole repertoire of changes that Valve issued which pretty much reintroduced the game to them. Like the simple smoke grenade physics that they have implemented introduced a myriad of new playstyles that you could create and execute, what more of the changes they made with the guns and arsenals?

Excited to see more from this game. Could've wished they have something like TI for DotA 2 or Worlds and Champions for League and Valorant respectively as well to really pit different regions and teams against each other. That way discussions about GOATs couldn't just be stranded between regions but across them as well.

Ah I see. But usually if an org is successful in the other genres they can apply their victories funding into their DOTA2 endeavor if they wish to do so.
That's true, since they've got a lot of budget and willing to expand, they'll do so. And this is what I am seeing in the dota 2 community, while some known Dota 2 orgs have left because of being unsuccessful. The other orgs from other genres are willing to take risk and try.

Wasn't Faze clan starting to scale back their operations in Esports?
Maybe they have since recovered and not going bankrupt from the videos I last watched about their company:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unEZS2GIYW8
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBwGScoPs74

As 5-9 months ago is very long time to make a comeback in Esports for any team.
It will take time because if they're new to the genre even if they're good in the actual genre they've been with for years, it's true that they might find success long time before it finally does.

I'll take a look at those videos, thanks rdbase.

Thank you for the update on the CS2 genre coming back to the fray with new tournament action.

Placed a parlay on the two later matches I caught but didn't realize they were just bo1 and betting while half the map was done for both matches.
